Message from David – April 15, 2017

To my fans,

I am grateful for having had another birthday but even more grateful for your messages of love and support. Thank you for those messages on my website and Facebook page. I am blessed to have such loyal, loving and caring fans.

I have some projects I am organising and I’ll let you know all about them when I can. I want to give back to society for all I have received for 49 years. My intention is to educate others about Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Happy Trails,

DC

  20. I saw David in concert 3 times from 1972-73 when he made the Memphis~Nashville stops on his tour. Also, once in DuQuoin IL. My Dad made me do yard work and all types of chores to save the money for the posters, stickers, t shirts, flags, programs, etc. lol. He went to alot of effort to take me on those trips, something I took for granted at the time. ♥ I never forgot a moment of those concerts and trips as a teenage girl. My Dad passed in 2000. Got to see David again in Biloxi, MS in 2011. He took my hand and sang 2 lines from “I’ll Meet You Halfway” Defining moment in my life and I knew it when it was happening. My husband and daughter were there. And I think my Dad was too. I think I heard him laughing … 🙂 My 6th and last time to see him was October 15 in Branson, MO. I could tell David was struggling and did not feel well. He performed for us despite having 103 degree fever. He has given us his all. Thank you for the music, David. The soundtrack of my life♥

  21. Thank you David from the bottom of my heart for the beautiful message you sent us. I will treasure tt and this moment forever. I love you always, and we are here for you . You have our love and support always! Bless you. From Ireland.??????

  22. Loved you since I was 8 years old. You are one amazing man. Much love and healing prayers to you darling David xxxxxxxx????????

  23. Hi David,

Happy Easter. Thank you so much for keeping in contact with your fans on here. I never got to see you in concerts or in person but always was a fan of yours. Always loved your music, songs and voice. I’ve watched a lot of your concerts and interviews on youtube thanks god for the internet these days. You have such a great sense of humor in a lot of those interviews. I have not laughed so much in my life watching two particular shows your did where the one of Petula Clark when she explaining about the Silos and you wanted to go visit your cousin…omg it’s when you explained and you were laughing and the one when you were a guest on the Howey Mandell show with the Nut Lady and so many other show that you were a guest on. Thank you for your songs and your great sense of humor. I am now reading your book “Could It Be Forever” and just love how you tell your story. Take care of yourself sweet David.

Wishing you all the best in your projects.

    • Hi, Felicia,
Can you please tell me what it means when ours names go blue? Mine just went blue like yours. I’m thinking it has to do with longevity of writing on here (if two months is considered a long time). I hope I’m not somebody they want to kick off of here!

  40. Dear David,
Happy birthday. Hope it was good. I’ll always remember your concert at the Avalon in Niagara Falls 12/31/04! Hard to believe it’s been 12 years. I’m also fortunate to have seen Shaun at the NY state fair in 79. Hope your tour is going well. Take care.?

  41. Happy Birthday David, I wish you only the best. Please remember how much joy you brought to so many people. You are a great actor and musical artist and so many people care about you. I’ve had a crush on you since I was 8 yrs old – still do 🙂

  42. It’s an exciting new chapter in life that DC is embarking; stepping up to be a spokesperson re dementia and Alzheimers. Exciting — and noble too! This could prove to be (along with lovingly raising his great son Beau) the most important mission he’s ever had. Rock on, DC!

  43. Thank you David for keeping us updated on how you are and your plans. Yes I agree that it is so important for someone like you to raise awareness of dementia so that more research will lead to a cure being found as soon as possible. God bless you Lynn from England ps my dear Mum has dementia.

  44. You will aways be loved & cared about! I have spent the day watching you on youtube videos… Always take care of you… Thanks for staying in touch!

  45. David, would be wonderful if you did talks on the subject of dementia,or maybe even concert/fundraisers. Love ya!Karen

  46. Hello David, thanks for taking the time to send a message to the ecard signers. Wishing you many more happy birthdays in the future. Cant wait to hear more about your new projects.
I didnt know much about Dementia until you shared your news….now because of you i know a little more. Now times that by 1000000s of others you can reach !!!!

    God bless you

    Maggie xxx

  47. David, YOU are the one who has given so much!
I guess you have “received so much,” in response to you giving so much!
    God bless you. Much love!

  48. Dear David,

First off I want to thank you for your support and work with Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Maybe with the help of people like you I want have to face it myself when I get older. My family and I have been effected by Dementia and Alzheimer’s not once but different times. So I really feel for you but I’m grateful to you that you take time to still help with this so you may help others. I only wish we could set down and talk to each other. I have a feeling we could help each other so much. In facing this and other situations that have came my way and my families way we have learned to fully put our trust in God in faith, believing, and prayer. My family members who have faced battling this sickness and I who faced a separation from a guy I was involved with we also found comfort in Bible Study/Reading. Some how we seem to find comfort in this when times are hard, in fact in doing so it seems to bring better times more often and gives us strength to keep going during bad times into good times over and over again. I remember God’s promise to us “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” And no matter how bad things are I know I can run to God in prayer for protection, “when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me,”

I still pray for you also. I hope you are doing well. May God Bless You. As I’ve often said Jesus loves you so much. I love you too.

My hugs and prayers to you with lots of love. – Shelly

  49. i’m sure you’ve already thought of this, but could you do one more concert and donate all proceeds to dementia foundation , only one hitch, you’ve got to do it in augusta ,me at the civic center its next to my hometown cause i’d love to see you one more time, i guess that’s pretty selfish of me, i do wish you all the best

  50. Hi, David, I know you want to educate others about dementia. Please check out Teepa Snow, dementia educator, online. She has some wonderful videos and workshops, and she treats the subject with creativity and compassion. As a Registered Nurse, I have used many of her techniques in working with my patients.

  51. David,

What a beautiful smile you have. You looked happier than I’ve ever seen you when you were on the Grahame Norton show in the UK in 2003. You were clearly being entertained, but both of you entertained us! May you have more and more to smile about in the future. You have a lot of people who love you.

  52. Hey DC,

Sorry I missed your birthday, best wishes to you… I’m kind of a recent fan, I was 14/15 when you burst on the scene and I was falling in love for the first time so other than wondering how I could get my hair to look like yours I was kind of busy and not sitting in front of the TV. Last year I went through a rather tough divorce and as I was trying to figure out my life at 60 I stumbled across a Partridge Family Marathon on Antenna TV. I had so much fun I googled you and watched some of your YouTube interviews and some of your more recent concert videos that fans have posted. What a fabulous life you have had, and always so kind to your fans. I guess I just wanted to say “thank you” for [inadvertently] helping me through a tough year.

    Best Regards,

    Dawn Katje

  53. Dear David,

I’m glad to hear that you will be an advocate to speak on dementia, and on the behalf of your beloved and beautiful Mom. David I want genuine happiness to fill your life and I hope that you and Susan Dey can find a way back to one another. I can sense a deep and everlasting love between you….unspoken, but none the less real. I hope Susan is ok, haven’t heard much about her in the news and it would be great to see you two reunite your long friendship. Be well David, we all miss you.

    Love You Always, Christine

  54. Dear David, what a great thing to do to educate about Dementia and Alzheimer’s,it is hard illness to understand and we still know so little about it but. My mum has it and I am the only one she remembers, she is 89 and now she is having blood tests for something now as she is not so well I am waiting for the results and I feel so sad and I know she is old but she is still my mum. When someone you love is diagnosed with this disease it is very hard to understand it at first so the more help and support there is the better and I admire you so much for doing this. Please take good care of yourself and thank you so very much for your lovely message and keeping in touch, love as always Angela Mitchell Cornwall uk.xxxxx

  55. Ah David…
So good to hear from you! I felt like listening to ‘Dreams Are Nuthin’ More Than Wishes’. I love every sound in ‘Some Old Woman’ and still feel my heartstrings tugged by ‘Can’t Go Home Again’. I haven’t listened to these songs properly for years and they still stand up vocally, instrumentally and lyrically! Thank you for the unending gift of music you have given the world. Remember how much you are loved. Promise?
All the love on the planet to you!
    Jill (Peterborough, UK) x x x

  64. Reading Johnny Ray Miller’s When We’re Singin. Very detailed about the making of PF & DC music. Interviews w/ writers, musicians, engineers & cast So detailed I almost feel like I was there -intersting to learn how they engineered this or that in a song. Strings horns rich backing vox .. double tracking Then you can hear those details when you listen
    to the song again.
I get a bit pissed for DC’s cuz no matter the success & his gains, they did exploit him, and that burns. Anyway it’s a good book if you’re a fan, an engineering nerd or just into
the story behind it all. .. oh, and the bus. The bus gets its own section. Lol.
    Hygge to all

PLEASE HANG IN THEIR…ANYTHING YOU DO… GIVES SO MUCH LOVE TO MY HEART! NO MATTER WHAT PEOPLE SAY.. DONT LISTEN THEY ARE CRUEL PEOPLE…AND DONT WANT TO REMEMBER WHAT YOU GAVE THE WORLD WITH YOURE TALENTS…THE FACT THAT YOU ARE STILL TRYING PROVES THAT YOU ARE THE GREATEST STAR THERE EVER WAS….BECAUSE YOU NEVER GIVE UP…AND YOU JUST KEEP GIVING ALTHOUGH ANYONE CAN SEE YOU ARE FIGHTING FOR YOURE LIFE….I THINK I LOVE YOU… WAS A SONG THAT DESCRIBES HOW EVERYONE IN LIFE REALLY FEELS ABOUT LIVING..
