Message from David – February 25, 2017

I’m overwhelmed with the loving, caring, supportive reaction to the fact I have the early stages of dementia. I want every single person who will ever read this, or hear this, to know that their love and care for me, and concern for me, means everything in the world.

I’ve chosen for 2017 to finish where I began, and where I was born, in the city of Manhattan, in New York, at BB Kings in just more than a few days. I intend to put the touring aspect of my life to rest.

I’m one of the more fortunate human beings, let alone actors, songwriters, singers, musicians, producers, creators in that I’ve had a lifetime of living my dreams. Without you all I would have very little. I am now a very, very, very heart-full rich man. No longer rich or wealthy but rich in spirit and heart and mind and love. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and from the top of my head to my toes IOU a very significant debt for my happiness. Happy trails. I promise I won’t disappear.

I love you very much,
DC

  1. Listening to my entire Partridge Family/David playlist in my rocking chair, just as I did in 1971 at 8 years old. The comfort and safety of two loving parents and David’s voice made for a blessed childhood indeed. I’ve seen you 4 times in concert in last 20 years. My prayers and love are with you now and every moment going forward. Love, Lori in Sebastopol CA.

  2. David followed you for years man, loved, loved, loved your best the RCA triolgy, it doesn’t get any better soul and rock at its very best. I’ve seen Rod Stewart,Marviv Gaye, Al Green, Joe cocker and you are up there, seriously you have given me so much listening pleasure for so, so long. Its 12 midnight here Manchester UK and listening to ‘fool in love ‘, love in ‘ , this could be the night etc, bliss…….l could go on. Me my wife and (adult) kids love your music forever.

  3. Dear David, it takes a brave man to be as honest as you have been about your illness, these last concerts have the best time ever, as we have had for decades, please keep your promise to keep in touch through your web site, can,t imagine you not being in my life,be happy the world is praying for you I have said this before there will never be another teen idol like you take care lots of love Yvonne from Scotland x

  4. Aww this is so sweet and heartfelt. I read it out loud and almost choked up from the genuineness of it. David’s message really warmed my heart and I know he means everything he says. I can sense it. Bless you David. I feel so honored to have the opportunity to see this true legend at his final show <3 <3
We love you very much David and we always will. Thank You so very much for your hard work and dedication. You make so many people happy and yes you are a rich man. No amount of money in the world could buy what you've earned in your life….the love and respect of millions upon millions of people. I can't wait to see you soon!!

  5. I must comment again on how loving you are to the masses of women who are complete strangers to you. They say it is a good measure of a person’s character to see how they treat people, or animals too, when they don’t have to be nice. You will be well remembered by millions, David. I guess the operator of you site or sosomebody didn’t like the stock stuff I mentioned under the name of Meg Staadt. I was serious, but all of that kind of thing involves risk, so forget it. I just believe in the person I’d mentioned. You get health tips on here. I am sure you are aware of the benefits of vitamin B 12 and others. Markus Rothkranz has many websites that deal with regaining health from a vegan lifestyle. Not eating meat would be hard, but he healed himself with plants and looks quite young and healthy for his age because.of his diet. In your spare time…lol! There is a lot of information out there. I pray God leads you to exactly what you need. Please take good care of yourself. XOXO

  6. David you are one of the richest men in the universe. Your pockets have always been filled with love and care for people. That is the greatest wealth one could have. Denice in Cle.

  7. David I’m glad to see you say what really matters: Love, appreciation, and people. Some people forget that and see success as being only if you get a lot materially from it. You’ve had it all in your lifetime, but in the end things don’t really matter. It’s the people that love us and that we love. I’ve always seen you as person who values the simple things in life. (even though I’ve never met you…just from things I’ve read and interviews I’ve seen). Material things can disappear in a heartbeat but love is the thing that lasts. Praying for you.

    We love you David!!
    Ada

  8. Again David–I only came to know of you after the death of my beloved David Jones–it was your music that helped me through this time–I did become a fan–I am grateful to you for your concert last June in Hartford CT–you are a true gentleman with a magnificent voice–thank you for a life time of making us all happy! Your music —priceless–Happy trails, still hope to see you sometime at Saratoga!!! Denise

  9. David you promised you would never disappear. Well we the fans will never disappear from you. We we always, mean always be there for you, have a nice day tommorow.

  10. I love you so much David, that’s all I ask, please don’t ever disappear <3 can't imagine this world, without you after adoring you for a lifetime <3 God bless you, please stay strong , well rested & please yes stay connected with us. oxox You have my heart forever ((( <3 )))))You are a rich man David, because your heart is made of gold, <3 I adore you. oxo

  11. David,
I was wondering about your ability to pay for medical costs. Medication, treatments, etc. there are so many pharm companies that offer assistance. I work as Sr. Case Manager for Ochsner hospital (Houma, La) that is primarily what I do is assist patients with these types of things. I’m sure you are very well able to take care of all your expenses, but I do know how costly it can become. If there is any information at all that I, or our facility, can help with please feel free to contact us. No, I’m not hustling business or whatever, I’m just a lifelong (seriously, I was 5 when the Partridge Family hit the big time!! Lol) fan who just wanted to let you know how deeply sorry I was to hear of your diagnosis and to just make you aware of some help that may be out there for you. Much much love and please know I will be thinking of you and always sending good thoughts your way.
    Karen
(I was going to leave my work #, but decided maybe that wasn’t such a good idea!! Lol)

And David Cassidy is the star. Felicia glad we are friends, you are a super great beautiful person, hope your cat doing good, hi Yvonne and arciala,David gave us great news. Well now let you all post, look forward to reading them and David thanks for your caring update to us.

  13. Music is therapy as Dr. Drew on TV said, that anyone with this condition, or any, is helped very much by doing the things that they love and enjoy best. So singing and playing is actually good for you David., touring is not, however your fans can come to you in Florida, when you feel up to it. I feel that after a good long rest, you should do a show here and there, no pressure at all, and just take life slow, one day at a time. <3 then you'll be alright, the important thing I believe is to avoid stress at all cost. x I love you so much David, and I always will. I pray to one day meet you in person <3 I won't give up on that dream. xx

  14. Beautiful words from a Beautiful, Talented and Amazing Man I Loved you then (1970) I Love you Still I Always have and I Always will xxx Love from Lesley Shaw Boyle from Ayrshire, Scotland

  15. Much love David from across the pond , your a brave man to have been fitting this for so long. Your brought me and my girlfriend together in 1973 and both still listen to you now. You are loved . You are always welcome to call and chat , I consider you a friend Chris

  16. Thank you David for such a lovely message.
You will always have a special place in my heart.
I’ve loved you since 71/72 and still love you now and always will.
    Love & hugs,
    Doreen from Bedfordshire, England
    xxxxxxxxx

  17. You will always be in my heart. You gave me the most beautiful music and dreams when I was a teenager. When I play your music I can relive it all again.
Please take good care of yourself. We cannot live without you yet.

  18. Dear David,

Thank you for writing such a fabulous message. That’s the David Cassidy I wanted to hear from. Just like the songs you sang (and will always sing) it says everything that needed to be said. I think the Partridge Family bus must be heading your way, jammed to the rafters with fans offering their love and support. You’ll find me standing on the rear bumper (or fender) hanging on for dear life…^^

It’s kind of like the Odyssey. Sooner or later, everybody returns to their first home and their first love. And you were mine. So it’s that time. I’m glad to be back, as a fan.

David Cassidy: The first, the biggest and by far the best of the global teen idols. And a genuine artist in his own right, too. The template for the rest. And they were ‘the rest’. We were lucky to have had you and to have shared those days. Pitch-perfect days where the sixties met the seventies. The sun will never stop shining on, and from, those days.

I’ve been listening to the music (must write more about that) and watching episodes from the first season of The Partridge Family on DVD. Do you remember that scene where Danny pushes the tape recorder under the restroom door to Reuben Kincaid? So do I. I can remember watching that on TV, the first time around. The documentaries on the making of the show and the music were really useful, too. You had an excellent cast, right across the board. And the guest stars were good. Harry Morgan in the second episode…^^

I’m glad to be back, David. After all, home is where the heart is.

    Jeremy

  19. Such a part of fans lives — like an extended family member.

Touring around and that physical drain — setting aside the medical diagnosis — as they say, been there/done that.

We Italians have a saying — Basta. Enough.

Heard this saying — Spiritual strength is greater than physical strength. I’m trying to remember this when I think others are able to do more. We all have our own unique purpose.

Onward for all of us. Hope you’ll share coping skills/helpful hints as the journey moves forward. Hugs.

  20. Dear, dear David,

thank you so much for your words of love – they touched my heart!! I’m always looking for posts from you! That’s like you write to “me” 🙂

Now I read all the posts from fans who written to you… they found so nice and loving words…what can I add? I only can say the same: I’m thinking of you every day, I’m praying to God, He may help daily – and guide you to find Him. He will give you all you need in your life and will hold and console you in His loving arms. Yes, and He gave to you many people they want to support and love you – especially in this hard time, too. (Sorry for my defective English)

David, from the depth of my heart I’ll say to you: I’m glad to ” know” you (but unfortunately I never met you), to can hear your songs, your wonderful voice and can see you in films – and… I love you like a friend!

    XO Elke

  21. Dear David, I know God will do the miracle and you will be fine. I am writing this to you with tears in my eyes because I can not contain this immense love that I feel for you I just want you to be healthy and happy, that’s all I needs to be well and happy too.

The love that you sowed in each of us , throughout your artistic trajectory, is reborn every day, in your heart!
And your heart, worth gold! You’re kind, loving and a true person!
I know it will be wonderful the BB. King Concert, at New York, the city where you were born.

Now, a new stage begins for you David. A change od life, but you will get away from it your best, as it always you made in your life. Sure, you’re Blessed !!!

Whatever you need from us, we ‘ll be right here, always !!!!

  25. David I met you years ago at a Tower Records signing in Manhattan. The few girls before me kept fainting on the line when they got up to you. You kept calling security to cart them out LOL. When I finally got up to you you asked me if I was going to faint as well and I replied no I think you’re really cool besides gorgeous, and you were more gorgeous in person than I have ever saw you on TV, I love you and I pray that you are okay. I’m going through medical issues myself and my heart is with you. Thank you for so much entertainment and your music. You mean the world to me and I love you

  26. David, I am such a devoted fan, I have been praying and thinking of you constantly since I heard of your health diagnosis. I am 18 years old, and have all your records and my walls are plastered with you ever since I was 10 years old. I had the wish to see you in New York City I’m still trying everything to come! I can even afford the plane ticket all the way from Nebraska! I want to be there so bad to support and see you in your last concert. I’ve seen you 3 times and those were the best nights of my life. I only wish the best for you always! Love u so much David!
    Kali

  27. I just wanted to wish you the best. Your music continues to be a huge and important part of my daily life (it has been since I was 8 years old in 1970). I’ve seen you perform three times: the first time at the Garden State Arts Center in June ’71, the second at the Club Bene’ in NJ and the third on Broadway in Blood Brothers. Each time was an exciting, unforgettable experience. Thank you for that and your talent and unceasing dedication to your countless fans all over the world. God bless you. Be happy.

  28. My friend and I have tickets to your show for this Friday in Rhode Island. We are soooooo looking forward to it, and feel fortunate to be able to see and hear you!

    • Lucky you!!! Clap for the rest of us who cannot get to these important 2 shows soon to happen.

  29. Dear David, you are so loved, just like a member of my family. I’m so thrilled to have been able to attend your concert last June at the Hard Rocksino near Cleveland. I have been a fan since 1970 and had to wait 46 years to see you live. Thinking of you and praying for you daily.
    Love, Cindy

  30. Dear David,
You are one of the nicest people ever, and you have been since you became famous. You are KNOWN for how nice you are! And your words here are so beautiful. If only ALL OF US, in later life, could describe our own lives as you have!

    Prayers, love!

  31. There r no words to express the love we have for u and
what u have given to us all these years.
Your talent is unbelievable , your kindness to each
Fan,taking the time to make each one feel special.
We all grew up together loving you and your music.
Some may ask how can you love someone they
May have never met. With you it is easy. I had the opportunity
To meet you years ago and was lucky to get to know u, Shaun

  32. David,
Thank you for the happy memories of my childhood, wishing I had been born in a musical family. And for your performances that I have enjoyed over the years since then.
I was heartbroken for you when I heard of your illness. I am praying for yourcourage and strength and that you will find happiness and peace every day of your life.
    Wishing you many blessings,
    Linda Dieffenbach

  33. Heart-full wealth is the best kind. It lasts. You hadn’t toured even once when you first came into many of our hearts. We’re all back at the beginning, full circle. Entering the next chapter in a story still being written. “I promise I won’t disappear.” Once more you reassure, encourage and inspire us. Like you have always done. May love continue to do the same for you, and keep your good heart, sound mind and generous spirit strong

  34. dear david, I thank god for giving us you, a man which such a great talent, seeing you in two concerts, as given me great joy, you have fulfilled my life with your music, unfortunately age takes over, we all slow down, look after yourself, there are drugs which can help, as for money I am sure you are comfortable in your living quarters, but the love from your fans surpasses financial, and in our 60s and 70s everyone should be debt free, this can cause health problems with the worry it brings, you have to be stress free, look forward to seeing your interviews, and thank you for being here, you have made my life complete, take care of yourself.

  35. Hang in there, David ~ we love you and support you ~ always have and always will. I wish the best for you and all that is ahead. Enjoy your retirement and take care of yourself for us. I had the pleasure of seeing you live 6 times over the years, most recently in Branson, MO. I cherish every second that you’ve given us.♥

  36. Dear David,
I am so happy that I saw you last year at NJ Pac and Count Basie Theatre. I had the pleasure of meeting you at NJ Pac and you were so happy to be working. I have to say that I became a bigger fan now than when I was a teenager in the 1970’s. It’s wonderful that you have a large group of people loving you and wishing you all the best. You deserve it! Thank you for all these years of entertainment. I pray for you good health and days filled with laughter and joy. In the words of the band Spiral Staircase, I love you more today than yesterday-Ellen

  37. Thankyou for all the joy and pleasure you have given to me. Take care of yourself, love to you and those you love. Be assured of my prayers for you. Love always, Gillian xxx

  38. Thank you Sooo much for this gorgeous message
    We are blessed too
    Love to you always
    Eileen (Ireland)

  39. Dear David,
I am so very sorry to hear of you health issues. I have been a huge fan since I was a very young girl. I have many many of your albums and cds and one of your live concert DVD’s which I treasure ( I believe it was in Glasgow)…. I was hoping to see you again in concert in OH but totally understand why you feel you must retire from touring. The first time I saw you I was only like 8 years old and we were quite far away from the stage, so I was hoping to give it another try with better seats 😉 You are in my constant prayers. I feel, as many before me,that you are great talent and I thank you for the joy you have brought me through your music and acting……You have so many people who love and care about you out here!! Please do not “disappear” we, your fans, are concerned for you and devoted to you and just care how you are doing and always will .
Love ♥ ((Hugs)) and prayers ♥♥

  40. David. I have loved you since I was 8 years old. I even gave up my ballroom dancing lessons, when I was about to take my silver medal exam. I gave them up, because, I was missing The Partridge Family, Saturday lunchtime. I had posters of you, all over the bedroom wall and ceiling. The newsagent opposite my house, used to keep a copy of any magazine, that had you in, under the counter for me, as they sold out so fast! I am sad that I never got the opportunity to see you in concert. I was bought your book in 2010. I still listen to your music. I wish I had a signed picture of you! I want you to know, I am here for you, and will always love you!! Thank you for the music, acting, and just being you!! All my love Sue xxxx????

    • Love memories like these — we’ve all got ’em. I used to get my Tiger Beat and 16 Magazine at the newsstand after piano lessons — of course, pretending to be Laurie Partridge while I practiced!

  41. David, I’ve adored you since I first saw you on The Partridge Family. I still have all my Partridge Family albums, as well as yours. My fondest wish all these years has been to see you perform, and hopefully meet you in person. Unfortunately, the timing never seems to have been right. Sadly, this may never come to pass. I’m so sorry to hear of your diagnosis, and hope you’re doing well. I’ll always cherish you as my first crush, and I hope you enjoy your retirement, you deserve it. Although I still hold out a sliver of hope I may get to meet you in the future. Hey, a girl can dream. 🙂 Take care.

  42. Thank you David for your heartfelt message. I will always keep you in my thoughts and prayers. peace be with you Love to you Take care Sue B

  43. Dear David,

It might be of help to us if we were able to help you. In writing this, I am very mindful of the fact that Karen has stepped forward and offered to open up the path to professional help and advice. There is no worse feeling than sitting on the sidelines and doing nothing while someone you care about might need your help. I’ve read what you had to say about your financial situation and I was wondering if it might be a good idea to allow your fans to contribute towards the cost of your future care through your official website. It’s just an idea, but it might be one way of involving us in the process and allowing us to feel that we are doing something practical and useful towards assisting you at this time, and on into the future. I honestly do think that it would be of help us to feel that we are helping you.

    With love from

    Jeremy

    • Excellent idea, Jeremy. If I had extra I’d be the first donor! David, please let your fans help you.

  44. Dear David

Thank you for all of the years of entertainment. God bless you and I will always keep you in my thoughts and prayers .

    With love,
    Barbara C

I have been very lucky to see you 8 times in various places in the uk and loved every time.
Please take care of yourself and I am here if I can try and help you in anyway. You have given so much and brightened up my life so much.

  47. Dear David,
My sincere wishes for you to be surrounded by compassion and love through this journey. I will remember you in my daily meditations and especially when I say the chant of Metta.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. You have taken that first, most difficult step.
May you have peace. May you be peaceful.

  48. DC, you are a part of Americana Pop Culture and loved by millions of people. Take our love with you everywhere you go and know that we got your back and support you 100%

  49. My heart breaks at this news. David 20 or so years after The Partridge Family went off air it came back in style with reruns on TV. I wasn’t much more than a teen when those re-runs started and I had such a big crush on you. My heart goes out to you greatly. I’m thinking about you every day since hearing this. My heart is with you and my prayers go out to you. I love you very much and I’m praying for you.

  51. Dearest David,

With tears in my eyes an a pang in my heart
    I write to you a poem, a prayer, a note…
Thank you for giving every little girl
Sweet innocent dreams all of those years ago.
With pictures on walls from store bought magazines,
You taught us to love, to giggle, and squeeze
    Our pillows
Just by the sight of you each Friday night.

And, you in concert (I’ve seen you twice),
    Carried by high pitched screams
That continue to echo from north to south and east to west
Because of every word sung from within your heaving chest.

Now, as we have traveled miles along your side,
Grown women are we with spouses who lay beside.
I can still say with a twinkle in ALL of our eyes,
    We love you, David.
    We love you, David.
    We have always loved You!

So now my friend as we have aged together,
White candles are lit and gently tethered,
    Illuminating the performing hall
    Where unison voices call;
    “God, a favor, please.”
Help the man blessed with heavenly seeds,
Of acting and singing with instruments many.
    The dreamy eyed-charismatic man
Who made little girls cry and love,
And, giggle and scream with voices pitched high.
Watch over him Lord, in his distress,
And, press unto him, his life was never in vain,
But to comprehend the Blessings that came with the rain. Amen.

p.s. 3/3/1972 and 12/14/2001 (thank you for making a wish come true by holding my arm while singing your number 1 song!). DBC 4Ever!!!!

  52. David,

I agree with Jeremy. I so want to help you and it would be a wonderful way to repay you for all that you have given to us by song, memories, and complete joy. As so many girls have said, our childhoods were made truly magical by you.

So, if there’s any way that we can help you monetarily, please don’t hesitate to ask us. I, we, want to make sure that you’re taken care of through the years to come.

I have many of your albums and a few of your CD’s – do you receive royalties
from record sales? How can we help you to earn millions due to you?

  53. I listen to those Partridge songs now as an adult and having listened to a lot of music. I realize I’ve never heard a better voice. Wow. I am glad you convinced Wes, or whatever his name was, that you could sing when the show was being put together. You changed your destiny that day and brought joy to the world.

  54. Dear David, Have been a fan of yours since I first saw you on the Partridge Family when I was 14. Like any girl at that time pictures of you covered my bedroom walls. You were the first thing I saw each morning and last thing I saw before drifting off and dreaming of you each night. I was never able to see you in concert and was I was hoping to see you for the first time in concert in OH, but totally understand why you feel you must retire from touring. The most important thing now is to take care of your health and enjoy spending time with your family and friends. You will always hold a special place in my heart and I wish for you only the very best.

Will keep you always in my thoughts and prayers
    Love and hugs,

  55. C’mon all ye fans out there. This is the time to support one of the greatest artists of all time. Let’s all be there in Richmond and New York at the final two concerts…
Let’s pay a MASSIVE tribute to David Cassidy! He deserves it sooo much…..

  56. Dear David
I have been a fan since I was watching you in the partridge family age 7 yrs ( from the UK )
I am sending my love and prayers and praying that you can find some kind of comfort and peace with your condition …just know that you have a lot of love out there …I for one like any original fans have such happy memories of you in the 1970’s and hearing of your diagnoses totally breaks my heart for you …I am thinking of your family and friends …these are the ones that are important to you …God bless you dear dear soul xxxxx

  57. Dear David, thank you for being part of my life for 45 years. You and your music have gotten me through some tough times.
I have been lucky to have met you personally twice. You really do give the best hugs!.. I wish You all the very best in the world, please know that I am thinking of you at this difficult time. Much Love, Crystal McRobersts, Ayrshire, Scotland.

  58. David, I’ve been a big fan since Partridge Family days! My thoughts and prayers are with you. Though we’ll miss your concerts, it’s important now to focus on your health and wellbeing. 60. Hi David. I don’t get on computer that much. I have loved you since I was 12-now58. No one loved you more. I still have all the albums, still play them. My husband even plays them now and plays drums. He has come to love your music. I wish I couldve sat down with you and talked with you about those days in the 70’s. those crazy days when everyone wanted a piece of you. I was a pre-teen. I only saw you once at Merriweather Post pavillion here in Balto. I was in the last row in the back. I could not even see you. But I never stopped loving you. I saw you about 15 yrs.ago. great concert. but I would have loved to see you one more time.. My grandmother had dementia in her mid 60’s & lived to be like 97. I come from extreme alcoholism-dad, grandfather & brother. Dad beat mom & brother up. every day. I know much of what you have been through. I only saw you twice. in the 70’s in columbia Md. I was in the back row and couldn’t see a thing. The 70’s – those were the days!! and about 15 yrs. ago. great show. Still would love to just talk with you. you are a lovely person. I want you to know you helped me through the worst days of my life when dad was beating Mom up. I was so afraid and you made me happy. Thank you so much. I will be praying for you. I never gave up on you and have loved you all these years. please take care of yourself. God is with you!

  61. I will start by saying I’m 55 and grew up watching you and was always a huge fan. But I never loved you more than when I saw you on doctor Phil and saw how amazing and brave you are. I took care of my grandmother with alzimers and I know all too well the pain of watching someone you loves slowly leave you. She adopted and raised me and pain is terrible. I cryed for years after she was gone. I am praying for you and your family. You have brought so much joy to so many people you truly deserve to have all that joy in your life.

  62. best wishes David your fans are always with you,we are here to support you and let you know you are never truly alone in you struggles we are right here with so much love! you have given so much to us over the years it would be wrong for us to desert you as you face this disease! LOVE YOU ALWAYS!

  63. Dear David,
My thoughts and prayers go out to you. I pray that you have peace and the love of your family and friends around you in your life while you deal with your demitia.Your are so awesome .I also pray that you find comfort in knowing that there are so many fans that love you and your music. You will always be our heart.God bless you and your family.

  64. David,
It would NOT be a burden to take care of you, but it would be an honor! You have given so much to everyone around the world for almost 50 yrs! I watched you on Dr Phil today & never wanted to hug you more! I am so sorry for what your going thru! I am a few yrs younger than you & a retired nurse, & I do believe in 2ed opinions! I really do hope you take Dr Phill up on his offer for more test and treatment options to make sure there is no other issues going on & to get the best possible medical options there is! Hay, it is free after all so nothing to lose & it is private, only you can release your medical info. You have always shown love, respect, & care for others. I hurt for you & only want the best for you just like you would want for any of your friends/fans! Always here for you and wish you the very best of everything! Take good care of yourself and hope to hear from you soon and often. Stay positive and ignore all the rude hateful people in the world as they are everywhere… Know that you are LOVED!

    • I agree Marie! David, take up Dr. Phil on his offer and get a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6439th opinion about this. You don’t have to become like your mom did…there is so much hope out there.

    • I agree with you too, Marie. It sounded on Dr. Phil’s show like David planned to accept his offer for help from the best professionals around. I was relieved and I hope he follows up on that. And David, I hope that you also look into Markus Rothkranz tips that he has in books and in many videos he has on his website. He would tell you to detox, including to quit smoking, and to then juice plants that you grow in a home garden. Markus listed on page 444 in his book, “Free Food and Medicine Edible Plant Guide,” 20 plants that can be grown in a home garden and juiced or put into salads, etc. The combination of professional methods and those 20 plants
should work wonders and bring great hope to you.

      • I forgot to mention that the 20 plants are specifically for memory…looks like I need a garden for them too! Lol.

  65. David, please look into the Alt Health program Know the Cause hosted by Doug Kaufmann .. he supplies tons information that suggests that Fungus in the Bloodstream is an indicator/cause for Dementia. Dump Sugar, ALCOHOL and other sources of what feeds Fungus. In one study all Alzheimer’s Victims had Fungus in their blood. The ones that died naturally did not.

  66. David, please just take care of you. Enjoy retirement and we are praying for you!

  67. Thumbs-up Dr.Phil, and David, my 85old father really enjoyed the Dr.Phil show, he said he learned alot. David did great job of explaining his life, my father said now he really understands why David was popular and bigger than all the others, my dad said you had the looks to go with your acting, and yes you did work very hard. My dad wishes you the best David. And he just talked more about what he learned of David’s career. He was out with a friend, and told the friend I have make it home for Dr.Phil, don’t want to miss. Me my friends watched, thanks for telling us your okay. True heartfelt interview, which enlighted me to the fact hope is everywhere, Dr.Phil you are there for David ,makes us fans know he is in a good place.

  68. Dear David

Thank you for your beautiful message to your fans, it is most appreciated. You are genuine and heartfelt and I feel so privileged to have had your music in my life. It is 43 years today, 2 March, that I saw you for the only time in concert in Sydney, 1974. What memories. From the beginning, I thought how talented and genuine you were and for me no other entertainer has been able to make me feel the way that you have. You are a beautiful person both inside and out and you’re right, you are so rich in love. I love to hear anything you have to say and you’ve been so courageous when you’ve talked about your health problems. Hope you’re getting all the medical help and love and support that you need from those closest to you. You will always have my total love and support. If you need to talk to someone or if I can help you in any way, I’m here. I’d love to correspond with you. Will be thinking of you on the weekend when you do your last shows. Look after yourself David, I’m praying for you and will never stop loving you.

  69. dear David, I also was a caretaker to my wonderful hero, my dad for 9 years up unto jan. 13, 2015 when god had a spot open for him. The depression, unless you walk in our shoes like we did, is unbearable. 2 years later and it still feels like yesterday. I also was the only one he recognized, my blonde hair and my voice when I would sing “you are my sunshine”.
Stay strong, I believe in you, you are not alone…

  70. Thank you David, for beautiful childhood memories, of all that you gave to your fans and audience. You will always be in our hearts… Bless you and may your battle be brave through a long journey. Hugs and prayers ! Big fan….

  71. David: This sounds so cliche, but I’ve loved you since i was 10 years old. You were my first huge crush, and even now, today, 45 yeas later, your music brings tears of happiness to my eyes. I wish SO MUCH I could see you in concert. You’re performing tomorrow right here in my home state of Rhode Island, but alas, the show is sold out.

By some miracle, maybe I’ll get you to go anyhow.

I think your interview with Dr. Phil was brave and helped countless numbers of people. There is so much love out there for you…you’re an indelible part of our rich American history and landscape and you always will be. Rock on, honey!

    Your biggest Fan,

    Robin

  72. My beloved David
I can’t say I was not scared by this news, because I was very much. Honestly my heart has tightened and I’ve been trying to write here for days, but I was speechless to express how much I felt. Please don’t move away from us. We need to know how you are. I want your health, your happiness. I want to feel that joy will persist. I want to see your smile. Know that we will always be here for you, helping you and supporting you in what you need.
God bless and always protect you
    Be well and take care!
    I love you
    Claudia (From Brazil)

  73. I’m looking forward to the concert on Friday at BB Kings. Have been a fan for decades! Love, love, love Walking in the Rain, Cherish, How Can I Be Sure, and so many others! About your recent medical diagnosis: you might want to join (or found) a peer support group in your area for early stage dementia patients. Another possibility for help: join a clinical trial. Whatever the hospital is “trying” may not help; however, the doctors will devise a treatment plan for you and it will likely be FREE. These tend to be university based, with many top docs leading the trials. Sometimes you even get a low 4 figure fee for participating. You asked your son to not let you get to the point where you are 100% dependent. What you can do now is make darned sure your Advance Directives are in place and that your son, lawyer, and any medical facility you use have copies. Unfortunately, end of life choices are far more legally limited than beginning of life choices. If you have long term care insurance, check with the insurance company every few months to make sure the policy has not changed. I am sorry to sound so intrusive, but you have gone public with your experience, and everybody can use help sometimes. I wish you well, and rest assured that your music will live on forever!

  74. Your bravery and honesty in sharing your sickness is beyond superhuman. Thank you so much for your music, the laughter and the memories. I’m pulling for you and wishing you the utmost fulfillment and contentment on your journey. I’ll never forget.

  75. Don’t lose heart. You have a lot more living to do, a lot more light to offer this world. Getting free from those things that cause stress in your life will only do you good and help slow down progression of a mean diagnosis. New treatments & helps arise every day. Those who love you will carry the flame and the memories if need be but, all is not yet lost. Every story, every life, every diagnosis plays out uniquely and different. You are still with us and we are still with you. Be kind to yourself. Avoid anything that hurts you and anything that drags your spirit down. Love and live and don’t lose heart.

  76. Love you David
Always have always will … I told my hubby you were my first love
    God Bless your heart …
    ( he understands ?)

  77. I love you so so much David!! I grew up listening and watching you and Shaun on television. I truly admire you opening up on Dr Phil today…as I sat and watched you today with tears in my eyes. You are such an inspiration to others. This is not the end of times..only a new chapter in your life David. Be Good to You!! You deserve it!! As a woman, age 50, I would love to see my teen heart throbs together again singing. Can you make this happen David?

  78. Dear David, I don’t know if you will ever read this, but I wanted to send you a message just in case you might. I have been a fan of yours since I first saw you on the partridge family. I was 8 years old at the time. I was fortunate enough to get to see you perform live in NJ in 2005, and I was in the second row. It was a dream come true for me to see you perform live. I am very sad that you are having these health issues and I am praying for you daily. I have been praying for you for over a decade now and I will continue to do so. I want to say thank you for bringing such happiness and joy to me over the years just by you being you. I have loved your music and I wish nothing but the best for you. God is a merciful God and he is a God that answers prayer, and so there is always hope for healing, or remission or some sort of miracle. God can make anything happen. You are a good guy, and you don’t deserve this. There has to be a miracle in this situation somewhere. I saw you cry on Dr. Phil and it made me cry too. I am going to continue to petition the Lord on your behalf because there has to be a miracle for you. Look for the good in everything, stay as positive as you can and please know that God loves you and many people love you all around the world including me. Sending you much love and positive encouragement. You are loved!! May God’s love surround you like a shield of protection, may you feel the healing power of Jesus in a powerful way, and may you live many, many more healthy happy years in Jesus’ name. amen.

  79. David,

It will be a tough road to travel on. Stay positive and ask for help when you need it. My mom also had dementia, 4 months of hell. Grateful she didn’t suffer long. Her mind was robbed from this disease and she went downhill fast – she was 92 years old.

You’re still young and can fight this. Do what the doctors tell you.

    Good luck.

  80. One very serious Ayurvedic Detox program is, apparently, the Soukya International Holistic Health Centre in Bangalore, India. The queen of England has ordered Camilla to dry out/detox there at least twice there. Okay, I think I’ll stop posting so much on here…just tryin’ to help!

  82. David did a good job last at The Odeum even though he had laryngitis. The ushers said he was in a good mood before the show. The show was sold out.
Most of the night, everyone clapped, sang and some danced along David’s musical journey for the 90 minutes he played. There was no opening act nor intermission. He gave the best show he could and was a trooper because he didn’t cancel the show. He said he had to be there with us with sincerity, and the audience responded with heart-warming applause. We were happy to see the second to last show of David’s farewell tour. The past 49 years have been quite the adventure; thanks for the memories! I wish you the best of luck with your health issues.

    • Thanks for letting us know how it went for him on the 3rd. I guess with the news media, no news is good news.

  83. saw your interview on dr phil, very sorry to hear it. loved you in the partridge family!!! wishing you all the best and praying for you. God bless.

  84. My teen years are fond ones, you are a part of those years, listening to your music, teen crush. All that came rushing back to me as I began to read the latest articles. I admire you and respect you. So sorry about dementia being in your family, its in mine too and frankly Im scared I will have it some day. Just know we care about you, always will. Much love and respect, Karen

  85. I saw you in concert for the first time when I was 10 years old. Which only happens to be about 14 years ago. I’ve grown up listening to your music even though it hasn’t been very long. My dad worked with you years ago and would tell me stories, so when I was 10 I was ecstatic to see you.

So sad I can’t be there tonight simply because it is sold out! Amazing! You are one of the reasons I love music the way I do. I just wanted to say thank you for that.

  86. You have given so much of yourself, bringing joy and happiness to others… now you continue to do so, bringing much needed attention to this disease which affects so many… i was fortunate to see you perform this past fall in nh but like many others, I can only be there tonight in spirit… so I want to thank you for all that you’ve done, and all that you are! and please know your fans will always be here to support you in the days ahead!
always in my prayers, xo heidi

  87. Dear David.
Like all your fans, I am so sorry and shocked to hear of your health battles. You will never be without our love and support and you are so very brave and honest to come forward to announce to the world of your struggles. You would not be human if you had not found it difficult to lose you dear beautiful mother and to see her like that. But try and remember her before she fell ill as this helps me since I lost both my parents to cancer. I find thinking of them as they were helps and try and not think of them when they were so ill.
David, my heart broke for you when I watched the Dr. Phil interview! You are so lucky to have a beautiful son in your life. I also read and saw a video with your very special ‘brother’ Danny, whom I know is a very special friend to you. What a beautiful friendship you have with Danny. I know you have helped Danny over the years and he seems very grateful and I know he is here to help you know. I cannot begin to imagine how scared and overwhelmed you have been feeling since you received this diagnosis and I truly hope you will take the kind gesture from Dr Phil, who I noted has offered to help you.
David you will always be LOVED and never forgotten. I can also imagine how hard it is for you when you have been touring around in your home country and how stressful it has been, even though you enjoy being in this business, it does take its toll. You have been such a kind an generous man to ALL you fans and I have been fortunate to see you in concert in QLD back in 2001. I missed you back in 1974 and WAITED so long to see you in concert. You blew me away and I will never EVER forget that night! Of course like many I have followed you on your’ roller coaster’ journey through life! I remember the very first picture I ever saw of you with you fresh good looks back in 1970 and I couldn’t stop looking at you and kept that picture under my pillow! Then not to forget THAT voice and WOW what a talent, as your voice is very unique and you have brought such joy to my life. David, I wish you all the best for your future and I hope that you can enjoy to rest and relax and enjoy the beautiful things in life. I know this has been a difficult thing for you to give up what you love, but knowing you, even though you are battling, you will not sit still for too long! I look forward to updates on your website.
Lots of love and hugs to you David….you are a legend!

  88. Dear David, Your music was the background to my growing up, and is still the background to my everyday. I am 60 now and love you just as much as when I first heard your voice aged 15. You have given such pleasure to millions of us over the years – rest assured that our love and prayers are with you now and always.

David Bruce Cassidy – never equalled, never bettered. You are a legend. Love and hugs, Jill, Aberdeen, Scotland.xxc

  89. Dear David, hope you had a wonderful time at your concerts this weekend, now time for a well deserved rest, never forget the joy love and happiness you brought to millions of people’s lives, you really are one in a million, best wishes lots of love take care Yvonne from Scotland x

  90. Dear David,
As a kid, i grew up listening to your music….my brothers and sisters enjoyed watching the Partridge Family on tv. Now, as a father of a 10 yr old daughter….and my girlfriend has an 11 yr old son and 7 yr old daughter, I am introducing them to your music and your acting. Music has and always will be an important part of my life and I’m making sure that the kids know about music…it’s soothes the soul and truly tells a story, each and every song. I just wanted to say thank you for all you’ve done. Your music helped me a lot when I was growing up and I know the words to I Think I Love You by heart. 🙂 Now, take the time and take care of yourself. All of us fans will continue to keep in touch and spread the music throughout the land.

  91. Hey David:
Wishing everything turns out ok for you. I’m the guy who talked with you in the garage of The Arena Theater here in Houston when you played in 2013. We talked about your daughter Katie on TV’s Arrow and comic books. I just wanted to let you know something funny…back in 1970 when Partridge Family premiered, I had to run down to a friends house on my street to watch every Friday, because back then we had one tv in the house and my Mom’s the biggest David Jansen fan and she was not gonna miss O’Hara U.S. Tresuray tv show. Ha-Ha. I got my own tv for Xmas 1971, so I could finally watch PF at home. Yea! Thank you so much for signing my 45 sleeve that day. I enjoyed your concert so much. I’ve always been a big fan of yours. Take care, Jay Anz

  92. David, I am so sorry to hear of your health issues. I was one of the millions of girls who had posters of you all over my bedroom walls. Yours was the first concert I attended. I would like to thank you for making the soundtrack for my life.
I saw you on Dr Phil and am praying you will take his offer of help. He has so many resources available that you may find the help you need to treat this illness. There have been many advances in medical treatment since your mother and grandfather were stricken with this illness. I know you have been through hell the last few years but that doesn’t mean your family, friends and fans aren’t still here for you. Please give yourself the best opportunities to get both the medical and personal help you need. You deserve it and we your fans still love you very much. Keep your promise and stay in touch and please reach out to people. Don’t stay hidden away by yourself. Give yourself the gift of living happily, looking for love, and never giving up. Stay strong, stay hopeful and know there are many people who are praying for you.

  93. You are a very special man with so much more to give. I will certainly keep you and your family in my prayers. My husband passed in 2010 from ALS and he was the most courageous man I ever knew. Please do not give up, there is hope if only a breath away. I encourage you write it all down, your life, hopes and dreams so they will live through your children and grandchildren.

  94. Hi David,
I have loved you for years and I always will! Don’t ever forget that you are loved. I saw you last year ,this year at BB King Club in New York. I am so in love with you! Thank you for all of the good memories. I THINK I LOVE YOU…..NO, I DO LOVE YOU !

  95. Jay, your story was so cool, thanks for sharing, I think Friday nights back than we all had reservations in front of the family t.v. It was hard sharing 1 t.v. My sister tried to get the t.v. from me,and she was stronger than me and younger, we were both losers that night, I broke the t.v. the knobs fell off. My Dad put them back on ,by that time I had to wait till next week. Now dad at 85 understands all about David Cassidy, he really likes him. Thanks Jay.

    • Hey Denice:
I’m glad you got a kick out of my tv story. I think a lot of us only had one tv in our house back then. Did you belong to the official Partridge Family fan club? I still have my 2 kits, different years of merchandise. Ha-Ha. I also have all the PF mags, remember them?
      Take care,
      Jay Anz

  96. You have no idea how much you mean to me. I grew up listening to your music. In my life, hey, I listened to a lot of records, but yours and yours alone are EXTRA EXTRA special to me because they were the first records I listened to and loved. You taught me to love music.

  97. Nice to know you’re taking the time you need for your life and yourself. We were in a store the other day, and I heard a song of yours on the overhead speakers. It was “I Think I Love You”. It, all these years later, is still such a wonderful, unique and joyous song. I recall, standing there paying a bill, that sense of fun and wonder when it first came out, (I was a little kid). The song still had power and presence, years later.

    “I don’t know what I’m up against.
    I don’t know what it’s all about.
I’ve got so much to think about”

That gift, as memory, keeps on giving to so many!! If everyone in the world had certain giftings which brought them to the public, (as yours have), not everyone would have easily, or gracefully, carried the mixed blessing of having to maintain an image, from a younger time in one’s life, over forty years. When you start with the One who is Love, and made you, those things will keep mattering less so. Strengthen the things that remain.
The world need more kindness, true. But how it is now, it was foretold. Prayers for you.

    God bless you David Cassidy,

    rich indeed

  98. I miss you, David. Thank you for being you and sharing yourself with us.
    Always in my heart.
    Love, Karen B Colorado
