Message from David – June 17, 2017

Last weekend, Craig and I recorded some tracks at my place. Craig brought a Neumann U67 mike from Chicago, the same type of mike that I sang through in my very first recordings in 1970.  I had my favorite mike and my favorite guitar, my Black Knife Strat with a graphite neck, as well as the songs my father taught me. How could I ask for more?

I’m going to fly to Craig’s studio in a few weeks to finish the recording.

Happy Trails,
DC

    • I have no idea what I’m doing. Lol. Well here goes. David Cassidy. I hope you read this.I’ve always been a fan. But stopped following you when I married and had my family. Wth. You probably won’t even see this. But givin a chance you do. I have renewed reading about the life you’ve had. And although you gained popularity out of this world. You always appeared to be kind. I think you would have loved life outside of fame. Thinking of you. Take care. Arlene

  10. How awesome is that! You have a true friend in Craig to think of that. True friends are hard to come by.

  11. Best wishes, looking forward to your music soon, much love and respect always from England XXX????

  12. Hi David,
I think it is wonderful you are still recording and enjoying yourself! I send best wishes for your future health and happiness on this Father’s Day weekend. Some of your fans on your David Cassidy greatest fans FB? page suggested a David Cassidy Cruise where you would basically be aboard for dinners and meet and greets. But I said he would jump overboard to get away from everyone. I will give you one small idea to think about however. Would you consider doing some video messages on your website for your fans? This way we could still hear your lovely voice talking to us and you could still keep your privacy. Maybe even consider taking in a few questions sent in. Just a thought! Regardless, we appreciate all that you have already done for so long. Take care , health and happiness to you and your loved ones
    Love ❤️ ,
    Beth

  21. Dear David

Thank you for your message and photo, you look very relaxed and happy. The necklace you’re wearing reminds me of the white one you used to wear in the ’70s. I hope you had a happy Father’s Day, we don’t celebrate Father’s Day until September in Australia. Sounds like you’ve had a great time doing these latest recordings and I’m sure the ’70s mike and your favourite guitar would have brought back a lot of memories of your early singing career. I wish you all the best as you finish them soon. I’m always interested to hear about your future plans and care very much about you. Please continue to keep in touch.

All my love to you David

  25. Hi Dear David,

I’m very happy to hear from you one more time!
Get in your hands the same type of mike that you sang, through in your very first recordings in 1970, is a gift that God sends to you!
Each object brings a sweet memory. And doing all this honoring your Dad, showing how you love him, completes this project. And makes it even more special.
It will be a success David, that’s for sure!

    With Love,
    Gueeva

Love you so much! Take care beautiful man!
    Happy Father’s Day!

  29. Dearest David,
I suppose because it is Father’s Day, I want to let you know that I feel what you are creating is a lovely sentiment. Not that you would care, but when my classy, intelligent, cool, and oh so funny dad passed away (far too young), we planted a dogwood tree in front of the house – just as he had planted one in the backyard when we were little. Even though the house was eventually sold, like so many others, it is the sweet memories that I truly (CHERISH) most, as opposed to the material aspects of life. By the way, his birthday was February 8th. Some really, really good people were born on that day (as I believe you would agree). Thanks for the music! I’ll check it out when it comes out.

P.S. ESP – I always wondered what type of guitar you played!

  30. Hi David—happy singing–can’t wait to hear the new songs!!! Much luv, see you at the track—Denise Brown

  40. Hi there David!!

So wonderful hearing from you!! I love to hear about details like that…I loved the 60’s & 70’s. Special times that I “Cherish” in my heart…special times when my family & I would tune in on Friday nights @ 8:30 pm to watch your show. We just hoped the TV antenna worked well those nights, so the picture wasn’t “snowy”! Ah, the memories. 🙂

Oh my, I just realized, the color of my kitchen today is the same color, a sunny, golden yellow just like the kitchen on the Partridge Family set!

    Keep on rockin’! 🙂

    Much Love & Happiness,
    Kathy Marie from Pennsylvania

  52. Hi Denice!
I was truly touched by your post. You are a
peach! Life is so complex, so full of problems
and challenges, yet at the same time life has its
perks. Being a David Cassidy fan is a very
beautiful thing! David thank you for all those
wonderful songs you have recorded through out
the years. My all time favorite song is “Could it
be forever”. I love the lyrics. This website is
phenomenal! Denice you have touched my
heart! You are genuine and sincere. You are an
excellent friend. Things are always better after
writing a letter to you. You respond promptly.
I can tell you things I can’t tell my own family.
We definitely have a close bond! And thank you
David Cassidy for having such a wonderful
website! I love David, I love to read every word
of every post from his fans. David Cassidy fans
speak from the heart! May God bless everyone!

  53. David,

You were funny in Ruby and the Rockits! Please excuse my catching up phase. Just thought I’d tell you that your comedy still rocks!

  54. David – It will mean so much to me to have this recent recording from you. Even more so because the only CD I ever had of yours was “Cherish” up until this past Christmas when I ordered all your past CD’s. Listening to them for the first time was a thrill and I’m finally starting to memorize the words to some of your songs.
I know that “Songs My Father Taught Me” will be one of your best – so fresh – in the moment and from the heart. I’m sure that every time I listen to it I will feel a little more closer to you.
Thank-you for all your kind messages and letting us know about the projects that you are working on. Can’t stop smiling – it’s such a great gift!
    Love – Denise Costa

    • Denise..I love.the way you support David. And I remember that.sign on the Bridge. How are you doing g? Best Regards Clancy

  55. David strong caring loving man still got that smiling Sam smile u have had such a journey such a roller coaster. U were thirteen years old when I was born I guess I was just a child when u had become a teen idol to the many. About two years ago I wondered whatever happened to the guy called David cassiday I bought ur book could it be forever n bought and listened to some of your cds and realised wow such sex appeal such passion such charm such talent. alot of highs alot of lows along your journey but david you have bounced back each time and that is the character and the strength in you yet I see vulnerability which I find endearing. Where was I in the summer of 72 ? yes humour me please !! If I could hold you to me I would do so right now without question without doubt. I sent you two little birthday messages and here I am again to say Hello Hello David Hello. Madeleine from Scotland X x x

  56. This is the most looked-forward to DC record since “Rock Me, Baby.” It’s going to be amazing, and pure love.

    Hollywood, Calif.

  57. David Cassidy, you have an awesome past.
You have a brighter future! You have to be
comfortable in your own skin. It can’t be
easy being David Cassidy! You have to be
true to yourself! So many fans love you!

  58. David, I’m sure you have people helping with your mail. I was young when your pictures hung on my bedroom wall and kiss you goodnight smh. Lol
I never have seen a concert of yours so I took what I could. I watched the show, then was turned on to the Stones etc. My favorite is of course The Beatles!
Ok glad things are going well in Chicago, I’m from there sad not to see it breaks my heart. I live in Phoenix, blah!! So hot, well stay gold David, the best to you. You look much happier in more recent photographs.
    Stay Well My Friend

  59. One more little message to you David regarding my earlier text and the word VULNERABILITY. David you have touched so many people and have a deep social connection. And what lies at the root of social connection ? It is VULNERABILITY VULNERABILITY here doesn’t mean the act of being weak or submissive to the contrary it implies the courage to be yourself. It involves uncertainty, risk and emotional exposure you have not been afraid to say this is me here I am you have shown the human side of David cassiday. And that is why so many warm to you and find your openness endearing never be afraid of just being David. I look forward to hearing you’r EP and hope life finds you well take care darling boy. Oh and play the song sang by Neil Diamond Hello again the words of the song are from me to you David. God bless and happy trails Madeleine from Scotland X x x

  60. Hi David

just checking in with you and so glad to hear everything is going well with the recordings and you are happy and having a good time, what more can you ask for, what more could I ask for??
You are always in my mind and heart: every day is a good one knowing you are there
    Big love to you
    Eileen (dublin ireland) xxxxxx

  61. Dearest David,

For the first time, I recently read your May, 1972, Rolling Stone Magazine article – fascinating – like the cover too! I did not know you accomplished so much at such a young age – a true trailblazer! I think you are to be commended! Nevertheless, I do know that you were (the article verified it) and still are a cool guy! Oh and “sticky seats” huh? Of course, I can understand how that would happen. After all, you are a (Voodoo Child), but Mr. Cassidy you made me blush!!
    Hope all is well.

    Joanne – Swarthmore, PA

  62. I live in Norway and I have listened a lot to your songs. I was only 12 years old when I first heard of you in 1973. Your voice is very unique and in a class of its own. I wish you all the best, all the happiness in the world and luck in everything you do. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful voice with us.

  63. David,

I hope you are still having a good time. I listen to your songs nearly every day. Unique voice. Special person you are, from all accounts.

  65. Hi David,

I hope you are ok ? I just wanted to see if you get this email, in reality I know you are unlikely to read everyone ……. I just wanted you to know I am thinking of you and can see how hard you have worked over the years I hope things get easier
    Love Nicky x

  66. Looking forward to hearing the new music! I’ve been listening to some of your older music lately and today enjoyed one of my favorites–Then and Now. Just has some great music on it that really speaks volumes. Wishing you the best and keep the music coming!

  67. David although we have never met I have never met you. I guess I have been a silent fan for many a year I believe there will only ever be one David Cassiday regarding your unique singing voice. The passion and the feeling you give to each song you ever sing or have ever sang. You still have so many fans WOW…. Your humour and your down to earth attitude won me over long ago your sensitivity and also intelligence was evident way beyond your years. I see beyond the teen idol that you were I see beyond the actor singer song writer performer. What I see is this guy I see the man you are who is very likeable and most definitely very human. I have sent a few posts now and perhaps you will never read any of them I hope that you do as I am reaching out to you with genuine sincerity and my friendship. Do any of us really know what our walk through life will be ? hope all is going well for you David and that you have managed to complete a few songs on your EP for songs my father taught me stay true to who you are and David I am here. God bless Madeleine X x x

  68. The Neuman U67 mike is a work of art. So much more atmosphere about it than mikes these days. It has a personality all of its own and reminds me of jazz singing. I would’ve like to have seen David with his favourite guitar, his black knife strata caster. I have also seen him with a red guitar he said he’d keep forever. I hope he’s still in love with his red guitar, too!

  69. I have a beautiful picture of David taken in the 1970’s standing on a beach wearing embroidered jeans and his famous puka shell necklace. He must’ve been really fond of his necklace because he even wore it when playing Keith! It was a lovely idea of Teri’s to give him a new necklace featuring puka shells. David said he made the original one himself , when he was on holiday in Hawaii. It conjures up happy memories of sea and sunshine!

  70. Looking happy David, so excited to hear your new cd. When
    Is it coming out?
    Take care and God Bless!!!!

    Lyn in Texas❤️

  73. Hello David,
I was listening to BBC Radio 2 this morning in the U.K. and during an interview with Mark Almond he mentioned you and your music fondly.
I hadn’t heard your name for many years and decided to look you up and learn about how your life has been. I’m 63 years old now so I suppose it’s what we do at this age.
I’m pleased to see that you are still enjoying life and your music.
    Best wishes for continued success.
