Message from David – March 27, 2017

To my fans all over the world,

I want to let you know that I’m doing fine and that today was a good day. I’ve had some very busy days since my interview on the Dr Phil show. I’m really doing very well. I have the occasional bad day as I’m sure we all do. My bad days are not often but I suspect they’re a bit different than most.

I’ve asked 3 of my closest friends (we’ve been friends for decades) to help me and let me know if they see any change in me on any given day. I’m very comfortable with my diagnosis and my life and lifestyle now. I plan on being here on this planet for a very long time!!

Happy Trails,
DC

  2. lovely to read you are doing well, being active is important even when we are retired, you sound happy, nice to know you will be around for sometime to come, lovely to hear from you, I keep myself active, I live in a flat with communal gardens and nobody bothered so I did the gardening, everybody had a go don`t touch it, I took no notice, I was the one who had to live with the mess, and I cleaned it up, looks much better and now I have had my rent reduced and the ground maintenance which I pay has been knocked off, I did it for me, to have exercise and fresh air, to have something to think about, you have to go out it is good for you, even if you just go out for a meal, I am always out and about, david, you are always in my thoughts and I wish you well, love you loads lol.

  3. Wonderful to hear from you. Continued prayers for you , your family and friends. May God continue to bless you. Much love. Sue from Ohio

  4. It’s good to hear from you. The other night I watched your Greatest Hits DVD (Glasgow), and I was totally blown away by how vibrant your performance was. I Write the Songs- as much as I like Barry Manilow, your version was so much more intense! And you did I Saw Her Standing There better than the Beatles own version! Think of the so many other musical and theatrical stars who have faced tough times and made it through, and may this be your encouragement to stick with your doctor’s prescribed regimen. Love, Leihsia

  5. Thanks for touching base. I’ve said to people before — if we put our working parts together, we’d make a whole, functional person!! Giggle.

Yes, we’re all broken in lots of ways. We’ve all just gotta hang in there.

  6. It’s very good, my beloved, to know that you are well. I’ve been worried about you. God willing you will be there for many, many years with us. And may these years be of great health and joy to you. You are and will be forever in my heart.
God bless and protect you always
    I love you

  8. Love hearing from you David. Wonderful to hear you doing well. I guess you probably know you still have several fan clubs still around. were survivors as well and letting us know that your doing fine helps feed us (if that makes any sense) We have learned to love one another through our love for you. I never got to see only a few episodes of the partridge family. (Daddy caught sight of the fact that I was indeed infatuated with you and said I didn’t need to be watching the long haired hippy type) ha ha. I caught up with you again years later and I have to say your love of people shows in all that you do. Take care of yourself , I hope you continue to have great days We all in the fan club(s) are elate4d each and every type we hear from you.

and promise for a good future! I am so happy
you are doing better! Hi Denice! I got your
priority mail. Thank you for writing! Life is
good. Praise God that David is doing better!

  15. Thanks for keeping in touch with us your very loyal fans. You are in our hearts and minds. We wish you a long and happy retirement. Deborah from Bucks UK

  16. Thank you for letting us know how you have been doing. I’m glad people have kept you busy and that you have people around you that you can trust. I’m still hoping for a reversal of the disease. Alice Cooper indicated in one interview several years ago that you were a fighter during tough times and that not all rock stars are. Take care.

  17. Thanks for your honestly with your health struggles. Can you document and share your journey in a book. It can maybe help others with similar struggles. Keep rocking David, your performances touch hearts <3 U.

    • If he doesn’t document his journey formally, these posts give us some insight and can be copied and pasted into Word. I especially liked the love he spoke of in his February 25th post. We know from his posts that Dr. Phil’s people have David’s mind being kept active doing something, that he is being given some sort of pills, has changed something having to do with “lifestyle,” feels much more confident that everything is going to be okay now, and that he has a much stronger will to live than he had during the Dr. Phil show taping. I’m not a big fan of big pharma, but they currently appear to actually be helping David, thank goodness!

  18. David, take one day at a time, the rest will take care of itself–keep singing, and laughing, enjoy–happy trails, Denise

  19. Dear David,

Great to hear from you babe, and happy your doing so well. We sure do miss you
and I wish for you all the happiness you deserve…keep in touch.

    Love You, Christine

I love hearing from you and to knoiw you are doing well. My Mom, at the age of 90, has been battling dementia for the last few years. Ivan totally relate to your good days and bad days as we are seeing those with my Mom. This disease can be so frustrating at times as when she is having her good days you would never know she was ill. But, on her bad days it is really tough on all of us. My father, at the age of 86, committed suicide because he as well had the early stages of dementia and being a WWII, Korea, and Vietnam Air Force veteran I don’t think he wanted to put his family through the pain of seeing him battle the disease. My Mom is a strong woman, but after 61years of marriage she feels lost. April 4 will be his 5 year anniversary of being called home. We also have very good caregivers who keep us up to date on how she us doing and if they see anything different in regard to her memory. I haven’t wanted to except that you also have the early stages of dementia because the thought of losing you us just too unbearable. It does make me happy though to hear that you seem to have a really good outlook on your future and will not be going through this alone. I have been a fan if yours for 45+ years, you were my first love and the feeling has never gone away. Thanks David for making us a part of your journey. You have a very large support group! Love and kisses…

  21. Dear David

I’m so glad you’re doing well, it’s a relief as I was worried about you. I hope all the messages to you of love and support strengthen and comfort you. Thanks so much for keeping in touch, I love reading your messages. I continue to pray for you and wish you well. Enjoy your life and do everything that you want to and are able to do. I wish I were able to be there to give support to you. You are the most wonderful, modest and courageous person. If more people were as genuine as you the world would be a better place. Thinking of you always, hoping you continue to feel well.

Sending all my love to you

  22. Dear David,

Woke up with you on my mind. I do not know if you got message or not so I shall post it here. MT late husband had ALS and stem cells was an option for him here in the USA. He had several treatments and it seemed to help him.

Talk to Dr. Phil about this as an option. Hang in there. God bless.

      • Hello, Yvonne from Scotland! You’re lucky. I wish I could have met David or at least seen him at some point in my life. His music and the unfailing love of my now-deceased brother (who was less than two months older than David) brought me through the rough early 1970s when my dad was still home and always making me cry. Anyway, I love to watch David’s interactions with children.

        • Hello,Margaret, you are strong you have got to this place in your life, and are a wonderful person, David added the cherry on the cake for all us teenage girls in the 70’s, I like yourself lost my sister in the 70’s so totally understand what you went through, he truly was my saviour during those years, and continued through my life, I hold such a special place in my heart for David and that will be with me forever, I am so glad I have had the opportunity seeing him live about 12 times between the UK and USA hold on to your dream he might perform at sometime ,and you will get the chance to see him live, so greatful he is getting the well deserved rest and putting his self first for once he really is one in a million .

          • P.S. I was 11 years younger than Bill and David, so I was still young during the Partridge years, not a teenager. I had no clue where David went for decades afterwards.

  36. Thanks for taking time to send us this uplifting update. Makes the sun shine brighter, knowing we’re all in agreement about you being here on this planet for a very long (and healthy!) time. So reassuring, that strong overcomer attitude of yours. Keep having good days David. Love keep working wonders on you and your life.

  37. I love and appreciate you David since the first time I saw you on TV in the 70s and in concert at CNE-Toronto in ´72. I understand how humble, brave and honest you are with us and especially with yourself.
I lost all news about you since I moved from Canada to the Azores in 1973 but I have caught up with you, thanks to the internet, and am thrilled to learn of your life, your work and renewed successes throughout!! To have learned of your musical genius, your children, and their own success makes me feel very happy. I hope you all come closer together to heal and be supportive at this time in life.
From us, our love and prayers go out to you every day unconditionally!!

  38. Dear David,

Will you be making any more television appearances or interviews in the near future? now that your working on a new song project. It would be great to know how it is coming along. Although I was too young to remember when you hit the music scene in the very early 70″s , I have followed your career for years. As part of the gen-x generation I have come to appreciate good rock from the 60’s, 70’s , 80’s and 90s, that is when it was still good, ending with the death of Kurt Colbane. Now days I have to admit it’s a lot of techno garbage ,no real lyrics. Keep in touch David we all love you!!

    Christine

  39. Dear David,
What a great photo and so lovely to hear from you.
So glad that you are getting on with your life and being so positive.
There is not a day that goes by when I don’t think of you and hope that you are ok.
    Love
    Angela

  40. Glad to hear you’re doing well and taking time for yourself. Stay strong and positive.

  41. I’m still praying for you David, for God to help you and give you strength and a miracle of healing. Jesus loves you so much. I want you to know I love you. God bless you.

  42. David,
I was in a lot of pain today and I was laying down,
this came on and I thought of u.
It says it all. Sending love, peace and happiness ❤

    Love,
    Lyn

    When you’re down and troubled
And you need some love and care
And nothing, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest night
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I’ll come running, to see you again
    Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
    And I’ll be there
    You’ve got a friend
    If the sky above you
Grows dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind begins to blow
    Keep you head together
And call my name out loud
Soon you’ll hear me knocking at you door
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I’ll come running to see you again
    Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I’ll be there yes I will
Ain’t it good to know that you’ve got a friend
When people can be so cold
    They’ll hurt you, desert you
And take your soul if you let them, don’t you let them
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I’ll come running running running to see you again
    Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
    And I’ll be there
    You’ve got a friend
    You’ve got a friend
Ain’t it good to know, ain’t it good to know, ain’t it good to know
    You’ve got a friend
    You’ve got a friend

  49. David, This is such a great message from you, and my favorite. I can feel the progress you are making. You have so much strength and a very strong side to you that you made yourself get to this point of wellness. I like your idea with your 3 friends, you are staying on top of your health. You have such a independent side to you also. We are on this planet with you, I never gave up hope for you, thank you very much David for this message, to better days ahead.

  51. David,

You’ve likely thought about this, but while Donny was singing, “Go away, little girl,” you were singing, “I’ll meet you halfway!” Lol

  52. Dear David, i listen your songs since i am 15, i never have the chance too meet you in concert, only watch you on french TV. Yes, France is far from USA but my heart is near you. 53. Dear David , Just Remember …..Sunshine Can Be Found Behind a Cloudy Sky ? My Friend YOU are doing AWESOME 🙂

  54. There are many natural solution to combat Alzheimer’s. You can defeat it. The body can heal itself if given the right nutrients. I’m living proof. Peace love and hope to see you in concert again soon.

  55. I’m really glad you’re doing O.K., David. It means alot to me that you’re as well as you can possibly be. I’ve followed your career since your guest starring TV episodes in the ’60s. You’re also one of my all time favorite singers. Good luck with everything. God bless and much love always…

  56. David,

Please forgive me sending yet another medical finding, but you might be interested in some of it. In addition to the coconut oil I mentioned a while back that is reversing dementia in some people, it looks like intermittent fasting also helps people with dementia. Fasting is known to help the body heal itself of many, many ailments, which is how our ancient ancestors thrived so well.

Mark Mattson is the senior investigator for the National Institute on Aging, which is part of the US National Institutes of Health. He has studied the effects of intermittent fasting on memory where the fasting only lasted between 10 and 16 hours daily. Here is a direct quotation from an article on the subject:

“Mattson has also researched the protective benefits of fasting to neurons. If you don’t eat for 10–16 hours, your body will go to its fat stores for energy, and fatty acids called ketones will be released into the bloodstream. This has been shown to protect memory and learning functionality, says Mattson, as well as slow disease processes in the brain.”

I’m glad you are doing better. I just hope you are also giving God’s solutions a try also!

    Much love,
    Margaret XOXO
