Message from David – March 8, 2017

To the many thousands of people who have supported me over the last 5 decades I send my love. I thank you all sincerely for the support and care you have shown me recently and in the past.

I am enjoying some time at home, appreciating the warmth and contemplating what I will be doing next. I wanted to let you all know that I am not retired, I do want to play again. I just won’t tour. I also want to go back into the studio to record “Songs My Father Taught Me”. I will keep in contact with you and let you know what I am doing.

Thank you for the many letters and messages of concern and care. I have my good days and very occasionally a bad day.  I am doing everything my doctors advise in terms of diet and pills.

Happy Trails,
DC

  4. Dear David, I hope you have many more good days. You’ve made so many people happy for so long, it’s definitely time you think of yourself.
I have never seen you live, but I have all the CDs, DVDs and movies of you. It would be nice to hear “Songs My Father Taught Me” from you. Or maybe old songs in a new version? I love “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do” in the version of the CD “A Touch of Blue.” “In the Direction of Albuquerque”, “Brown Eyes”, “Walking In The Rain”, “Only A Moment Ago “I’ve been to The Night,” and “The Last Kiss.” Thank you for all the beautiful music you have given your fans over the many years.
    Warm greetings from Germany
    Good Bless
    Marlies

  5. David, after seeing the BB King performance, I highly doubt you will be sitting around for very long. You have a love for life and music, it’s evident that your band and your fans are your lifeline, and I’m sure that is the reason you always give 110 percent in every musical endeavor. To stop totally would admit defeat and I do not believe that is in your vocabulary!
You may want to add a little exercise to your daily reputa, I know that really puts everything in perspective for me! Life is a journey enjoy every second of it!
I hope your new jazz/blues recordings will fulfill an admiration for your dad that you carry with you everyday.
And if you only perform in Florida and NY I’m sure you will sell out as you did at BB King. Stay well and look forward to hearing about your next chapter!

    • I totally, totally agree with this that you’ve said here. David Cassidy is far , far from over !

  6. Good Morning My dear David,
My love and prayers are with you my sweet, thank you for staying in touch with us.
I’m glad you didn’t forget me we will always remember you. we grew up with you
we love you …….you take care of you ok? …………peace and love Gigi

  7. Praying for you Mr. Cassidy. Hoping for nothing but the best for you. Have loved your music for a long long time.

  8. Dear David ~ I love your new style of music, it’s easier on your voice, and you do it soooooooooo perfectly .. It’s sooo relaxing and elegant sounding.. I was just telling my son about how you now have a new style about you, and he’s the same age as Beau, and yet he loves your new more ‘mature’ sophisticated style too. David you’re still such an immense talent all your own, that no matter what, you can handle anything, you’re a real pro, and do it wonderfully. You’ll forever be my number one hero, and nothing will ever, ever change that. I will follow you and your works till the ends of this earth. I have everything you’ve done and will continue to get all of your music, because you’re brilliant. <3 So please rest up those vocal chords, cause the best is yet to come. And as for not touring.YES, that's the best idea. If you maybe get to do a show twice a year, in Florida, I'm only 2 1/2 hrs away in Puerto Rico, perhaps I can go to one of them one day. I take care of my mom and so I can't go for now, but I'll never give up the dream of meeting you at least once. I love you David, please take good care, enjoy the sunshine.. oh yea…. and God bless you always <3 Sending love from Mom & me. <3 aways. She'll be 96 tomorrow, on the eve of your great concert's anniversary at Madison Sq Garden.. I was 13 , it was her birthday and I got the gift. she and I had the best time ever in our lives. <3 oxox We love you <3

  9. Dearest David …The reason I can’t go to see you is because my Mom has vascular dementia. <3 I'm with all of you in spirit. <3 <3 I have only one way to describe David…He is the love of my life.. even though I've never met him. I've adored him from afar from the first day. Saw him at Madison Sq Garden.. it was my Mom's birthday and I got the present.. we both went to see David. She loves him too. and even ill as she is.. one day I had his UK DVD concert on TV and she said.. "What a beautiful boy, who is he? " x and she loved his show, because love lasts forever. <3 God willing she'll be 96 in another week. <3 WE love and adore you David <3 God bless you always <3 XOXOXOO

  10. Its you time now…
I am heartbroken you had to cancel the Ohio concert…
    I just want you well & happy…
You, still to this day, give me so much happiness & pleasure…
    I can’t wait for the new CD…
Those were also my mother’s songs, so I will appreciate your renditions…
    I love you David ?

  11. David, Thank you so much for all the music you gave us over the years and I can’t wait to hear more when you’re ready. You are truly talented and I send my good wishes and prayers to you. I’ve been a fan for a very long time. Yesterday I was listening to your music in my car and you do spread love and light that have never changed.

All my best to you sweetheart and know you are not alone we are all with you.

  12. Hi dear David,

  14. Thanks David for the update. I have been praying for you. I am thrilled to read your update. I hope you find peace and contentment. It’s crazy but maybe you’ll relate to my post. We all want to hurry and grow up and then when we do-we want to slow down and wish we could go back. It’s the way life is.

I did adore you as a teenager and have continued to be a fan with your other types of music. What a range! The past few weeks I have told my grandchildren about you and we are watching the reruns of The Partridge Family and the shows continue to make generations smile.

One of my greatest joys in life now are my grandchildren and I thought of you. I can’t describe the feeling I have when I see my (9) grandchildren and sharing their lives. I hope someday you will get to experience that with your children. As we age-our bodies demand more attention and I try to give my best so that I can be here for my grandchildren as long as I possibly can. Perhaps that will give you the will to continue to follow Drs. orders and seek peace and harmony in your life. Our family carry on our legacy. I know God is with you. Much Love.

  15. I look forward to hearing more music from you. Take care of yourself.
You are always on my mind. Love you.

  16. My beautiful man, I am sooooo happy to hear from your. Try and get some rest and please, continue your doctors advise. Never give up. I am still praying for a miracle. Take care and enjoy life. You are always on my mind. I love you ♥

  17. Sending you my thoughts and prayers. Looking forward to new music from soon. Take care of yourself. Love you David

  18. Thanks for checking in. Have this phrase in eyesight in the house —

When the body rebels, we have to find the NEW normal.

  19. David,
I’ve been a fan since I was little. I was born in 1974, so I’ve watched you in reruns since then. It may sound corny, but the PF and music are a wonderful memory of my childhood. I still watch and know every song. Anyway, I’m praying for you as you walk this walk. It takes a tremendous amount of courage to go through this. You are facing this head on with bravery. Thank You for speaking about your diagnosis and giving courage to those that are dealing with it. You are their voice. Take Care, Keep singing, and May God Continue to Bless You!!

  20. Sending you hugs, and prayers. Looking forward to your new ventures. Saw you last in RI. We really enjoyed the concert. Also it was great to see my Cassidy girls. I now have friends all around the world. And they are all awesome . Love to you David!!! One day at a time. Take care!
Also just wondering if the staff gave you my Heart filled with chocolates?? They said you would get them???

  21. Hi David

  22. Dear David

Thank you for your message. I’m glad you’re resting and contemplating what’s next for yourself in your life. Happy to hear also that you’re not retiring completely, only from touring and looking forward to your “Songs My Father Taught Me” in the future. I’m sure your doctors’ advice and medications will help you and that you’ll soon be feeling up to doing whatever you would like to do. Hope you have supportive people around you. Please know that you are never alone, I and all your true fans are praying for you and wishing you well. Sending you all my love always and looking forward to your next message.

  23. David –looking forward to a new CD–I remember seeing your father a couple of times on shows like Dean Martin–songs from back then are classic, and you have the perfect crooner voice to sing them–hope you still have time for your horses and racing–Maybe you can record My Old Kentucky Home—I also am a big fan of C W Anderson’s artwork–read his Billy & Blaze series when I was a kid–still have some of his classic books and prints–anyway someday would love to talk Racing with you–see you maybe at Saratoga—-Keep singing–thanks for the new memories–would love to have you record Peter Nones–I’m into something good–or better yet some Andy Williams classics–Happy Trails —Denise

  24. Dear David,

You have given us so much love and happiness for so many years, that there are no words to express how much you mean to us, your fans.

Your talent to express so many emotions have made us feel alive. We have loved you faithfully and just the way you are, possibly far more than you have ever loved yourself.

Now the time has come for you to just enjoy the simple things of life and just let yourself be loved and pampered by those of us whose lives you enriched and made our experiences far more meaningful because they were accompanied by your voice.

    Love,

    Isabel

  25. While you are “contemplating what to do,” could you please consider emailing personal responses to those of us who have written you on this site since there are, at least right now, a manageable number of fans in comparison to FB? If you don’t post something on FB about it, this site will likely remain manageable. Anyway, you have the emails of those of us responding here. You could set up an email account for yourself, just for this purpose and block the troublemakers and people trying to use you, etc.

I know if I received an email, I would print that sucker off and frame it, especially if your logo appeared on it and the message had some thought behind it and not generic.

Just a thought from a long-time fan who never got to meet you, get an autograph, or see a concert. I thought this was what you meant when you said you would have more time for social media after your final touring concert, but maybe you meant reading the comments more often.

  26. To all of David Cassidy’s fans, me being a dedicated fan as well!
Please don’t have the expectation of wanting David
to personally answer your post. It is not fair to him.
Isn’t it enough that he keeps us up to date
with his messages on his web site? I truly believe
that he reads everything his fans post. So can
everybody be realistic and let David be free from
fans wanting something from him. He is in the
fight of his life. He deserves respect from every
single fan. David I will always love you! Thank you
for the heart warming message. You take care!
May God bless you every single day of your life!?

    • I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to come across as being disrespectful. I thought of it as a modern day autograph.

    • It’s not as if I hadn’t been researching stuff for David, wishing him well from time to time, and working behind the scenes encouraging people on my Facebook page (from March 6th on back) to wish David well. But what the heck…I am just a complete nobody to absolutely everybody.

      • You are not a nobody. You sound like a true fan and that’s what David needs right now. Felicia doesn’t speak for all of us.

      • As far as I know Felicia does not have any authorization to tell people what to do. It is David’s decision to make to send you or not send you an email. Please don’t put yourself down. We are all here because we love & care for David. Anyone who takes time out of their busy life to post a message to him is a special person, not a nobody. I’m sure David appreciates you.

    • i have been a david Cassidy fan all my life, and I am sure fans messages keeps him perky, I am here to give support to david, when I had my twitter account david did personally acknowledge one of my tweets which I did not expect and I was thrilled, he does not know who we are, we are all strangers, but to have all the responses must be good, it would be terrible if he got no interest at all, I give him my best wishes,

  27. David thank you for keeping in touch
with your fans with this heart warming
message. I will always love you and
have the utmost respect for you. Doesn’t
it feel good to be off the road? Now you
can finally take charge of your life, and
just enjoy every day. I hope you have
more good days than bad ones. May God
bless you and keep you in his tender care!

  28. Hi David,

My mother had Frontal Temporal dementia and has died a few years ago. I have continued calling into the tele support group that I had belong to try to give tips to people who are in different stages in dealing with love ones that have FTD. Someone of these caregivers are just starting out trying to help their family members, and others are like me have a family member that has died and share the ropes of the in and outs on how to deal with things.

I wish that I can talk to you, At least I am helping others.

    God Bless,

    Sarah

  29. Great to hear from you. Enjoy some precious time with those you love and take care. Love always Gillian xxx

  30. Thank you so much for keeping us updated, that means a lot to us. You do what you think is best for yourself, it is about time after all. Go back into the studio when you are ready to record. Beautiful messages of support from your fans which I also find touching but being sent to a very special person in our lives.

Is’nt it funny how the older we get the more we have to do what we are told (ie everything doctors advise). It is like going back to your childhood. Anyway David, please look after yourself as you are very special to us. Keep faith and surround yourself with love.

    Happy trails to you always.
    Sheila UK xx

  31. David, you are so sweet! Thank you for posting this and keeping your promise that you will not ” just disappear”! You deserve the best and you will always be in my heart!
    Lots of love from Holland,
    Linda.

  32. Dear David, I really have enjoyed listening to your music and looking at your pictures I am so sorry to see and hear that things have gone for the worse for you. Your marriages breaking up, going broke and not having very much .money to your name. It is a shame that you couldn’t have gone in other places to may be have found Mrs. Right like may be in North Carolina. That is where I am from and I was born and raised there in a town called Mooresville. I still live there but in a different town called China Grove. I met the love of my life for 25 years on a blind date. We have had our differences from time to time but other than that we have gotten a long just fine. I was one time for 32 years a Presbyterian and I have been a Baptist for 25 years. I have been in troubling situations myself but if you believe in God and have faith in him, he will help you get through it.

  33. Hi David! I wish you all my best and good health … Thank you so much for make us so happy with your music and talent during decades … I’m so grateful to you! God bless you and we need of your music always … Hugs from Alex (from Southern of Brazil – Porto Alegre city) – I and my sister Denise we watched you live in concert at B.B. King in July 19, 2012 – Wow … wonderful concert of you … congratulations!!!!

  34. Dear David,
I attended the BB King concert on Saturday and had a great time! I wish you well “off the road.” Would love to hear more songs from you in the blues-y style of “Ain’t No Sunshine,” on your Then and Now CD. About your medical issues- maybe you could join (or start) a support group in your area for people with early stage dementia. Check out Teepa Snow online- she is the rock star of dementia teaching; she is humorous, a fantastic actress, lectures to standing room only audiences, and she has several videos on the web which you can watch for free. I wish you well and hope to hear more from you. Love, Leihsia

  35. Hi David,

thanks for your message. It ‘s great to read from your plans. Wish you strength and many many good days with people at your side who love you. I embrace you

    Frauke Maggie Anthony, Germany

  36. Dearest beloved David, today is my mom’s birthday, she took me to see you on March 11th, it was her birthday and i got the present. Please know mom just turned 96 years young today!!! Yayy!! I am ecstatic, and yet she has dementia but is doing well in spite of it all. and she is happy. <3 David take good care of yourself, get away from all and anything that causes you stress. Control your cholesterol levels, monitor your blood every 6 months, eat healthy foods and take each day one day at a time. God bless you, let's keep celebrating birthdays, every day..soon it will be yours too. I love you and I love my mom so dearly. WE are both your fans. She bought me all the records and posters, when i was young. Please know, that in spite of all the obstacles of life, there's still a tomorrow, my estranged son is now my best friend again, keep the faith.. Mom and I were there on March 11, 1972. You'll be my number one IDOL of my lifetime forever. Take care of you.. We'll all be looking forward to all your great and wonderful projects to come. Sooo happy you're not retiring, just taking it easy and as for touring . nope.. you stay where you are, and we will visit YOU.. love you always. <3 xxxxxxxxx "As long As there's YOU"

  37. David,

Praying for your good health and conquering your battles. All the best-Ellen

  38. Dear David,
I was fortunate to have booked to see you at BB Kings on March 4 2017 a few months back, as March 4th is my birthday, and I thought what a wonderful present to myself & way to spend a birthday. The news of your deciding to stop touring, and that this would be your last show on tour, made this day even more special, as I booked it never of course knowing this.
I had a great birthday thanks to you, and despite your laryngitis you sounded great and the show was so fun. We were fortunate to have a table right at the stage so we could see everything perfectly.
I know you are going through some health challenges, but your energy is amazing. Love when you do your songs that your father taught you because that is great music and needs to be remembered forever….to all generations. Your heart & mind are in the right place. And I love and respect you for that.
I have a similar health situation as yours. It runs through my fathers side of the family. So I have seen how resting properly, diet but also using your capabilities and talent as yours to keep active and stay fresh. I have faith you can and will do this!
On a funnier note I have seen some utube videos that because I was so close to the stage, I can visually see how much fun I had for myself last Saturday.
Anyway long enough for now… thank you for a wonderful birthday!
    Take care.
    Love & Peace
    Allyson

  39. Hahaha I love you so much; you’re so authentic! You make me laugh even when you’re not trying to be funny. For instance, the time you got all over that woman at one of your shows for smacking you on the leg because you wouldn’t kiss her on the mouth. I love that kind of irreverent stuff, and I love the way you deal with it. And so to you, my charming man, I say, ” Best always, and can’t we find a cure for this effing thing called dementia?” I’m positive there’s something out there… even if it’s still in the form of a plant somewhere deep in the Amazon. I want David Cassidy around and in top form for as long as possible!

  40. Dear David – I have been a fan of yours for over 40 years. ” I know I love you”. Please take care of yourself. You have given your all to us true fans. Now it is your turn to take care of yourself. With all my love. I love you to pieces. Cw <3 <3 <3 <3

  43. Thank you or the updates, they are reassuring to read. I saw you twice in Time in London and….. I was lucky to get a kiss at the end !!! Love Lynn xx

  45. Dear David,

Glad to hear your doing better and are going to get some much needed R&R, you deserve it. You have a lot of us who love you and are concerned about your health and happiness. Just so you know I’m in the medical profession and work with a lot of people with similar circumstances, please know your among friends……stay in touch

Love you ,be well .. Christine

  46. Thank you David so much for the update. Happy you are dong well I continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Peace love & happiness. Sue B

  47. Jason really felt bad about what happened at the Sheraton. I told him you are not yourself and we prayed over it. He is remembering the joy of growing up going to see you and singing your songs since he was 2 years old. Hopefully we will both have another chance to see you play and Jason would like to say hello and hopes to give you the card he still has. You have been his greatest inspiration in doing what he loves. For that I will always be grateful. He is a Savant and believes God has made him special for a reason. We know deep down you know God made you special too~
    God Bless~

  48. If you are going to go back into the studio to record songs your father taught you, maybe consider connecting with your nephew Jack and teaching him one or two songs for a duet.

    • Isabel, thanks for posting this. I have already signed it and posted one of these on Facebook, but it’s great that you posted this opportunity here too! I couldn’t believe when I read about it that he wasn’t inducted decades ago. How could they leave out the greatest singer in history?

  49. Hi David, It was so nice to see you at BB Kings in NYC. You gave a great show. I have enjoyed seeing you over the years.. Take care of yourself. Love, Patty

  50. looking forward to hearing the songs your father taught you, your version of summertime was very nice, at one of your shows, hope you are keeping well in yourself, very much appreciated your messages, nice to know you are doing okay, best wishes.

  51. David;

I don’t know what kind of dementia you have, but I found a very interesting article on Alzheimer’s in the news today.

Researchers are now working on how to curtail and eventually prevent Alzheimer’s, and it look like the solution isn’t 100 years away!

The link is below. The article can be confusing at times, but nonetheless, there’s a lot of good info in it. Thought I should pass it along.

  52. My poem I wrote to you:

    Your Voice

Your voice breaking up the air
it´s a feeling that only express
    you sing your heart out
    touching people all the way.

    Your voice makes me happy
    when I hear
the first bars of every song
    and beautifuly you can sing
    love songs or rock ´n´roll.

    Your voice is the one
    I loved when I was a teen
still love as a grown up person
    and will love
    until my very last dream.

    Yes, that´s your voice
    sweet and strong at time.
    You have got
    a gift on your throat
    keep it safe
    for the world to enjoy.

    Araceli

  55. Dear David . I just wanted to let you know my prayers are with you. You have been blessed with a talent that you have been sharing with the world for 50 years, and I have enjoyed the ride. My first recorded I ever bought was, “I Think I Love You.” on 45. You and your music have meant a great deal to me through the years. I wish you all the best. Keep recording if you can. Signed a Friend. Jack.

  56. Hi David, hope you had a lovely relaxing day soaking up the Florida sun, cannot wait to hear the songs my father taught me, both your parents would be so proud of you, coming forward about your illness, now people will stand up and pay attention, rewind 45 years to the day and take yourself back to Madison Square Garden when you were all together at a very special event in your career, take care lots of love and happiness always Yvonne from Scotland x.

  57. May the dreams you hold the dearest be those that will come true,
And may all the kindness and joy you’ve spread be abundantly returned to you

  58. Dearest David,
I have been a fan of yours since the PF days. I have also attended a few concerts through out your career. I have you in my thoughts and prayers. Please know we the fans are still here and support you. Stay strong and know we are pulling for you to return to the stage. Sending hugs and much love to you.❤️

  59. Hi Felicia, Margaret, and Barbara, I’ve been off the post, and just read the updates,I been busy loving my horse, and David really made me realize how life is. I love the guy to. I grew up with the typewriter, and because of David Cassidy,I got myself going with social media and learning all this crap, where it was so overwhelming, and now I am really enjoying beeping a part of David’s blogs, I think David most likely really enjoys it to and what we are saying, we all need a break , and I just love that everyone is so d. Honest in there posts, and we all are beening ourselves. And yes Margret, it would be nice to hear from David personally,Why not? David it might be fun. In the meantime thanks for your update,I’m just so greatful you are following the doctors, and getting rest, and sunshine, you had a couple ruff months, the David Cassidy we all love is adorable as ever, and going to be showing us that life is good. We look up to you, your strengths have merits.

    • Denice, thanks for the comment. I’m old enough to remember typewriters, 8-track cassette players, etc., too! Lol. Well, I got to thinking that typing is not something David would want to get started doing since he has arthritis bad enough to not want to play much. I can’t believe the rudeness from some of these other women on here regarding a digital autograph, though. They appear to be trying to set themselves apart as the best fan or something. My reward for my level of honesty that you mentioned will be in Heaven because people down here just don’t “get” me, my level of honesty, fair dealings, trustworthiness, etc. I come from good Midwestern farm-type people and my words are always being twisted to mean something other than what is said. And I say what I mean. David, as stated before in other threads, I love your music and I love you. I have since I was 10 years old. I hope you take real good care of yourself and remain in the faith, as you had stated to Pierce Morgan a few years ago you had entered. I was so proud of you! Cheers!

  60. The most important here, is your message to us, when you care about someone like we all do for you,we need the assurance, that you are really doing good, you gave us that, cause we did worry ourselves sick, hi Felicia, glad we’re friends, now we can get back to being friends, you are a beautiful person with care. We just all care so much, David you do have the best fans, by for now but I will be back, Denice In Cleveland. Hi Yvonne have fun in N.Y.

  61. Hi Denice! I just read your post. Thank you for
acknowledging me! You are so kind and such
a beautiful person yourself. We all need
reassurance. I am working on a letter to you.
I will mail it out on Monday. I am at peace.
Our man David reassured us he is okay.
Life is good! You are such a good friend Denice.
    Take care!

  62. Hi Felicia, I’m glad we became friends, I think through our short friendship, that you are a supergreat fan of David’s and you do worry about his well beenin, that’s why you want David to slow and quit. I do understand that very much, but on the other hand, David might sing for us again, when he feels up to it. That would be good for us fans, and for David, but at a slower pace,he did remarkable work throughout his life, but it’s not over it’s a new beginning to what David wants to do, and it’s about time he gets a break. David your always welcome back, and will be just a exciting as years past, David please stay with us, cause you are part of history ,been so special to all of us, as long as we can let’s meet halfway ,to your new adventures of what will be.

  63. Hi David,

I hope you have many, many, more good days to come. I hope your new recordings go well and this new phase in your life is a happy one. You have had a great impact on me lately, as i think of my memories of you and currently can’t get ‘I think i love you’ out of my head!

I would dearly like to be able to get a signed autograph or be able to contact you/ to write to you if at all possible?

Spring is here , and soon Summer. Here’s hoping it will be a great kind of a summer! With warmth & love from London, England.

  64. Dear David, I meant to mention that my mother had dementia that actually was diagnosed as alzheimers back in 1996. She slept late on Easter Sunday and when she woke up she did not know what day it was. Her condition got worse and was put in a nursing home in 2002. My dad died in December 2003 and she did not respond to his death when I told her that he had died. It was very hard on me not having a mother to grieve my father’s death with. My mother died in April 10th, 2006. She was dying the day before but took her last breath the next morning on April 10th at 5 am. I was there when she died. My sister who lives in California did not come until days later when we finally had the funeral. We have not talked in about 8 or 9 years. It is sad that we do not have any connection but that is the way it is. Well so much for my sad story. I do hope you can continue to follow your doctor’s advise and take care of your self. I wish you the best in the next chapter of your life like getting back into singing again. I would like to be able to contact you to write to you if at all possible. I wish you a great spring and summer. With warmth and love from China Grove, North Carolina.

  65. Dear David,
thank you so much for coming to B.B. King. I saw you there for the first time in my life.
I was just right in front of you and I enjoyed it so much.
With your wonderful voice you have always been able to keep away sorrow and pain
for a while. Thank you for all the songs you gave us.
Thank you for the good news, telling us that you are feeling fine most of the days.
Surely, it is the best idea to make a new record with your favourite songs your father
    told you.
Please take best care of yourself. Just do things that feel good for yourself.
You will stay in my heart forever.
With love and a big embrace.
Best wishes from Germany from Susanne.

  66. Love you David ,take good care of your self love Mandy Helen . Derby England

  67. Hi Denise Brown, we all love David Cassidy, I can relate to your story, my mom passed in 2013, to this day, still family issues, thers 4 of us,and the youngest is in charge, not going good, and my one sibling never came to visit my mom, or the funeral. Before my mom passed she told me, I want you all to live a happy life and go on. She said she lived her life. So family can be very difficult. My mom did like David Cassidy, I created so much David Cassidy interest through the years, my whole family likes him and his work. My Dad at 85 said now I understand the whole David Cassidy story, after watching Dr.Phil. I did take my Dad to see David live in blood brothers, dad enjoyed very much, the rest family also got to see David live ,mom became a fan, so if you are feeling sad listen to David Cassidy music, puts you in a happy place. He has the best voice, hope you find happiness, your story hit close to home for me, David let us know doing good.

  68. Dear David you are a wonderful man. You have always been an outstanding human in honesty and sincerity. People have not understood your depth and breadth of love and emotion. I want you to know that you are loved forever. Soul to soul. Always and forever Jennifer

I love to check David’s website every day and read
all his fans comments. It can’t be easy being David

does respond to his fans e-mail. Margaret you
are not a nobody, you are a very special person.

elite club. Hi Denice! I am thinking about
dropping out of the website. Now it looks like
    I am the nobody!

    • I apologize too. I’ll drop off of here. I’m going through stuff entirely alone in the world and it shows up when I write. Take good care.

something. Margaret don’t stop posting on
this website. Your opinion is valued. Take care!

I had a work out this morning shoveling snow

I read “Could it be Forever!” your first book.
I was blown away with your honesty and
your grasp on the true meaning of life. You
wrote the book a little over 10 years ago. I
think it would be so therapeutic to do a
sequel from 2007 to 2017. Just a suggestion
not a request to write another book. You tàke
care of yourself ! Always remember you are
    so loved.

  84. Happy St. Patrick’s Day, David!

Hi Denice! I enjoyed reading your post.
Always good to hear from you! Until we
    meet again take care!?

  89. Dearest David: This letter is to tell you how I feel about you since I have been all over social media catching up on the last 40 plus years of your life. It has come full circle for me and I think you should know that I know I’m not crazy and I’m sure there are many fans who could relate to how I feel.

It was the summer of 1972 and lucky me (14 year old girl from North Newark, NJ) had 2nd row center seats to see you at the Garden State Arts Center (now PNC Arts Center). Me, myself and 2 friends were dressed in our knitted tie dye hot pants and tank tops with our hair up in curls done at the local beauty shop. We were on top of the world, after all we were going to see our dream man in living color. Even at this tender age of 14 I was worried about you because you had just had gall bladder surgery and this was your 1st concert after the surgery. Now, at age 59 I think I was pretty mature for my age then. I even was getting upset with all the screaming mimis around me wishing they would just shut the f up so I could hear you.

The show was perfection and we were all on a Cassidy high for quite a long time. I was the typical with you starring in my diary and pics of you wallpapered my room. I followed you over the years and knew things that probably most people didn’t know, for example, how you adored BB King and when he died I thought of you. In watching the videos (currently) of you I see how you actually mentioned 1972, the Garden State Art Center and your 2 encounters with BB King. It was refreshing in some way to know you had the same memories that I had intermittently over the years.

Then about a month ago, I was in from work. Tidying up the house and getting ready to make dinner for us (just me and my 21 year old son). Which speaking of my son, I divert to say, he was born on April 11, 1995 and laying in the hospital after his birth I actually (of course didn’t verbalize it) thought “oh, he missed sharing a birthday with David Cassidy by one day”. I only tell you this to let you know, you’re true fans never did and never will stop having great thoughts and memories of you. Back to story, so as I said I was just moseying around doing the house thing and for no reason at all I start singing “I can feel your heartbeat”. I had no idea why this song came to my mind and out of my mouth. Things like this always happen to me, all it esp or whatever but there’s way too many incidents like this to say I don’t have this gift which we all have that sixth sense more than most. I saw in one of the tons of youtubes of you (I think on Pierce Morgan) that you are a cynic and skeptic when it comes to spiritual and mind revelations. Me, on the other hand have been experiencing this sort of thing my entire life. Anyway, again I couldn’t figure out why I was thinking and singing this song completely out of nowhere.

Then within a day or two your upcoming interview on Dr. Phil was caught by me and it all made sense why the song was in my mind. Anyway, from that interview on, I have been on a David Cassidy high and I just had to write. I am the type of person who needs closure.

I watched so many beautiful youtubes in concert over the years and although I was one of the crazy teen in love back then I can honestly my favorites of you were in the early 2000’s where you were in your early 50’s and your voice sounded better than ever. Because we were so obsessed with your beautiful looks and movers, I think we all took for granted what a truly beautiful singing voice you have.

I just had to write and let you know because I am not sure you realize that the love and respect your fans have for you will always be there and we are all (I just know I could speak for them) praying and hoping for you to be at peace with your life in a state of happiness and contentment. We all pray that your relationship with your son has been mended and you share a loving and quality relationship with him.

I have said enough to satisfy the closure-needed part of my personality. I hope this letter does reaches you and I will continue to pray for you to have good health and peace always. If I ever get the chance to see you in person again, I will JUMP on it.

Take care, a fan forever, Grace Ruggiero

    • After rereading my post, and keeping my fingers crossed that he reads them, I have to add I’m keeping my fingers, toes, legs, arms, you name it.. CROSSED hoping David does an album dedicated to Songs of his Father. With his sultry voice and all those classic love songs, it will be a chart topper for sure and perhaps, just perhaps he could squeeze in a show here and there for us to enjoy. PNC Bank Arts Center (formerly known as Garden State Art Center) would be a great venue to perform let’s say Summer of 2018. I know it would sell out! I’ll keep dreaming….

  90. I just want to make a general statement that David
Cassidy has the best, the most loyal, and dedicated
fans. To Grace, I was really touched by your post.
It blows my mind, when I think of the magnitude
and depth of how much David’s fans love him.
I have been commenting on this website for a
year now. I got to the point where I have to read
all of the fans comments on a daily basis. It a most
for me to write words of encouragement to David
every single day on this website. There is not a
moment that goes by, that I can’t stop thinking
about David. David was my first love when I
was 15 and going through adolescence. I was so
shy. Never went to a prom. Never really socialized
or went out due to my extreme shyness when I
was a teenager. I had no real male role model
growing up because my father was an alcoholic
who drank himself to death, and died at age 66
from cirrhosis of the liver and hardening of the
arteries which lead to his fatal heart attack. 22
years ago I came home one day to find my
father dead on the floor. I was 40 years old at
the time. Good news is I made my ammends
with my dad 2 weeks before he died. My point
is David was always a good male role model.
Now with him having this website and allowing
his fans to express themselves, I am forever
grateful. To quote David from his book”Could
it be forever” he says “As human beings what
have we got other than the relationships that we
make in our lives?” Now I can take on my day!
Knowing I will always have David’s music
to listen to, I am a happy girl! David you have
touched so many lives! I wish you well!

  91. hi david, hope you are well, and everything is good, i have found a tip which does help the memory, i know a well balanced diet is essential but eating a little extra sugar can be beneficial for the memory, i treated myself to some extra sweets this week, and i feel better memory wise in myself, i do not eat to many everyday though as i watch my weight, and no caffeine, i have found a lot of older relatives will not drink coffee, i know you are advised by specialists, its just a fans tip which i have tried on myself, and works, it can`t harm you, wishing you well.

  92. Dear David,
May you receive the healing you deserve!
You are one precious human being. All I want
to do is pray for you in church tomorrow.
You have fans from all around the world who
love you. So the support is there for you! Just
read your fans comments. We are with you on
your journey to wellness! Signing off for today,
Sincerely , Miss Felicia Duran , your fan from
Westfield, Massachusetts. I love you David!?

  93. For me, David Cassidy is The most loved man in the whole world, because he gives to us happiness everyday with his music and his love. I love you David Cassidy! Please Precioso take care and let me know if you need something I can help you and take care of you… I live alone and no own family. I really can help you

  94. Dear David,
I remember dancing to the opening of “The Partridge Family” when it aired every Friday night: the highlight of my week as a girl! Thanks for all you’ve given your fans. I was very moved when I learned about your diagnosis; my dad had Alzheimer’s, so I a bit about the challenges. Music is a powerful therapy.

On my blog A Peruvian Alzheimer’s Adventure, I wrote a few posts about your news and how it’s affected me. Here’s the latest: http://perualz.com/2017/03/19/i-think-i-love-you-thoughts-on-david-cassidys-dementia-diagnosis/

    Sending hugs from Florida,
    Barbara

  95. David you are so loved, you are one man that could live out of a suitcase and always have a home. Let me explain: I was at your 2013 concert at presque isle in Erie PA., after the concert which went really good, and you were having a good time to,once we all got warmed up to the excitement of you and the music it was cool David Cassidy outside concert. After the concert I heard a lady say he can leave his shoes under my bed anytime, she told that to her lady friend. I laughed when I overheard. At your June concert 2016, I heard the thrill and excitement of your fans, waiting for your show to begin. And when you appeared on that stage, I could just feel how loved you are. I’m not a group goer, but I joined in,you were special and different, hard worker, you were example of stardom in a way, that felt like you were our friend. And we just loved everything about you than and more so now. Hope you are doing good, really good, and hi Felicia you post was heartfelt, I hope your not shy now,you have so much to offer to others, David is lucky to have you and me and the fans from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth. That is wonderful, David Cassidy is admired forever. Felicia I liked the little horse on your post ???? ?? ?????.

  96. And Felicia, I like what you said about us fans being on his journey to wellness. Yes we all are there for him. We hope and we pray, and David we can’t wait for your new music and thanks for telling us how you are.

  97. Dear David,

Now that you have an opportunity to reflect upon your life, I hope it brings you solace to know how much you are loved and by all that truly matters like family and genuine friends. Everything else falls away……and it reminds me of a saying I once heard “That Time Takes All But Memories”, and my memories of you are of a gifted artist and a beautiful person. We love David ….don’t give in ,and don’t give up , be true to yourself.

    Love you….Christine

  98. Just wanted to say thank you for soooo many years of happiness and hope
you have given me through y12
our music etc. I have been to about 20 of your
concerts over the last 15 yearsl Mohegan Sun is one of my favs, but my all
time favourite (Cdn. spelling) was Peterboroug Festival of Lights:) You made
the “pissing rain stop”!!!!! I took my oldest daughter to Casino Rama for
an amazing tribute to Davey, and my youngest daughter to Niagara Canada
where she sang every word to everyone of your songs:)

  99. Dear David,
Thank you for your lovely message.
So glad you are relaxing and enjoying some sunshine and taking good care of yourself.
It’s a great idea that you are going back into the studio and to have something special to focus on without the worry and pain of touring.
Lovely to hear from you ,always thinking of you and listening to your beautiful voice and songs.
    Love as always.Angela x

  100. Did you guys know that there is a birthday thread for David on here under the “Fans” tab on this site? There are only a handful of birthday wishes there so far.

  101. Hi David , hope you are feeling well and on top of the world as you have made thousands of other feel, my husband and I were talking about you last night to a friend , when out of the blue he said that guy is a brilliant performer, singer, and actor who never got the reconcision he truly deserved, that I truly understand my nephew was signed by RCA record company, and I personally seen the ups and downs of who is flavour of the month, he wrote with some of the best song writers of all time including LAMONT DOZIER who I had the privledge of meeting , when he was performing with him in London, nobody understand,s how difficult your line of business is unless they see it for themselves, I certainly got my eyes opened, fortunately he has made a career out of it as A TEEN IDOL, SOLO PERFORMER, and now a very established song writer you have achieved all these things and I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart, for every memory I hold and being able to come to Las Vegas and see you one last time, on your web page photo,s I am the Woman ,Girl what ever we get called at my age holding the phone to you while singing Echo Valley 26809 Thanks of each and every memory, they are locked in my heart forever, you take care lots of love Yvonne from Scotland x

  102. Take it one day at a time. I have it too. Keep music with you always. It does amazing things for the brain.

    • Isabel, thanks for sharing. I only recently discovered that Sing Me song and I absolutely love it. Some days it sticks in my head just like Could it Be Forever and I Can Feel Your Heart Beat do. To me Sing Me has a touch of old Hollywood style in the verses, which had been an influence on him. He had a wide range of style ability.

    • From what was said in that song and what he wrote on this post, I guess one of the songs he is recording right now is called, “Little Things Mean a Lot.” What do you think?

  103. Dear David,

I prayed for your health and happiness in Mass today.

I have been listening to your song Sing Me all afternoon. Your voice is so soothing. You have been a blessing to us.

I remember when I first saw you in an episode of Bonanza. I must have been 11 years old. It was my first experience of what charisma is. Since then that I have been following your life and career.

I hope you get better and that I may get to meet you one of these days.

    Love always!

  104. Dear Mr. Cassidy, 3/27/2017

I just want to let you know how much your music means to me. I was a fan of you and the Partridge Family show. I basically watched it because I knew I would get to see you and Susan and the rest perform. Your music was inspiring and was just what I needed to get through the evening homework. My parents moved me across the country from Chelsea, Michigan to Mobile Alabama in 1975 and I can recall watching you, your impact on TV and following your progress in Tiger Beat magazines for a few years at that point.

You are such a special person to have given so much of yourself. Many people forget that the grind of being the performer people expect you to be takes a tremendous toll on you, the person. I know the we the public do not really ever know you personally but I just thought you should know you had such a special spark that brought me peace and tranquility during those years when my parents argued. You were a haven for so many of us during our formative years and beyond. God gave you that special talent and very nice looks as well as an endearing personality. I will absolutely never forget practicing “kissing” the TV as a very impressed eleven-year-old!

May God Bless and Keep you in the Palm of His Hand Mr. Cassidy. With Sincere Appreciation for Your many Contributions to music and your fans . Mrs. Diane Achatz

  105. One of my playlists includes your recordings of Cherish and How Can I Be Sure. Yesterday I was thinking how I would love to have an album of you singing all the other songs. Think About It….Over You, If I could Reach You, Crystal Blue Persuasion, Save Room, Rule The World are a few. Beautiful songs I think you should do. I think the original artists would be honored.
