I'm back! I did it!! I want to go again!!!! It was a great show. Full of energy and laughs. The show started a bit late. The band warmed us up for a few minutes, then they introduced David, and he came out from behind the curtain to the right side of the band. (The side we were sitting on) He was wearing black denim jeans with Lycra or something like that in them, and a somewhat glittery dark purple/maroon shirt. You know, the color you often see him in for his concerts.

The first song he sang was "Summer Days", nice up beat version, very similar to the original, center stage. Then he sang "I'll Meet You Halfway", and went to the left of the stage, where someone came up to the stage, gave him a flower and tried to give him a kiss, but she missed. Then, was "No Bridge I Wouldn't Cross". Now he was on the right side of the stage, *my* side and another woman came up to the stage, gave him a flower, a note and said something to him. He kind of laughed. She seemed to be waiting for a response, and in the middle of the song, he had to stop and he said, "You don't understand. I can't talk and sing at the same time." He was a very good sport, but this was very annoying to me, as this is one of my favorite songs. It goofed him up on his words and he had to wait a few bars before he could catch up again.

Then he talked a little. He said that he was going to do something that he'd never done before. People started clapping and he said, "Don't applaud yet. You don't know what it is." People chuckled. He went on to say that he was talking to a couple of people during recent radio interviews and invited them to join him in singing a song. "I figured they'd chicken out." Dramatic pause. "They didn't." People chuckled again. He invited two radio station personalities, from competing stations on stage with him. Two women, Leigh and Anne, (sp?). They were each on one side of him and they had great chemistry. As he's trying to talk Leigh is pretending to lick his face. It catches his attention but he doesn't seem to know what is going on. She does it a couple more times, and the audience is eating it up. He finally asks what she's doing, then says, "Next time, let me know you're going to lick me." Audience chuckles. He talks some more and now Anne is dinging with the something on the chest area of her dress. He looks at her oddly, and she says, "My button came undone. Oh, imagine the devastating events that could occur from this." Audience laughs. DC: "Here, let me help you with that." More laughs. Then they very lamely sing, "I Can Feel Your Heartbeat". It was very funny.

Now things get a little foggy for me. I think he sang Ricky's tune next. Order doesn't really matter. Anyway, he sang another song or two. I believe it was at this point two people were arriving late to the show. David sees this, walks over, mumbling, " They must be rollers, gold carders." He gets right in front of them and like a scolding parent says, "Are you *just* getting here?" Audience members say something. David says, "Traffic? You're on an Indian reservation!" Everyone laughed, then he told us how very nice and helpful the casino had been to them while they were there and thanked them. Then, I think he started to introduce the gal he was going to do the duet with, when some man shouts out, "Sheena". He gives this evil kind of look and in a voice that says he's been asked this one too many times, says, "No, she's busy. Something to do with a farm." (Ouch!! Naughty, naughty David!) He sang the duet, from at the Copa. Then the gal, Candice sang a solo, "Rescue Me", while DC went back stage and changed his shirt. Anyway, he sang 'Mack the Knife', and maybe one more. He also sang "Lyin to myself", "Rock Me, Baby", and "Echo Valley 26809", Very nice job on this. His voice was so rich when he sang it. I melted. And it's not even one of my favorite songs. He said the most, absolutely most requested song from DC.com was 'Cherish' and he went on to sing that.

By this time, ladies off and on were heading up to the stage and the ushers, 65 year old grumpy looking men, were shooing them away. Don't get me wrong. I was very thankful for the wonderful job the ushers did, they just didn't seem to be enjoying it too much! My sister's friend, Dawn, had a rose to give to him and she went up to the stage waiting for him to come to our side again. I don't even remember what song he was singing, but as he approached our side someone threw some panties on stage. David knelt down by Dawn, shook her hand, saw the panties and asked if they were hers. She didn't seem to know what he was saying and she just kind of nodded. He held her hand some and sang some more, then as he went to move on, he put the panties in her hand and said, "You can keep these." She started shaking her head, put her hands up, and in an almost panicked voice "They're not mine." He then went on to introduce the band. Nice catchy beat, but it takes a long time to introduce them all. That lead to a jazzy version of "C'mon Get Happy". He then ended with 'I Think I Love You', and lots of people headed for the stage. As soon as he'd finish in an area, the ushers would shoo the people back to their seats. Also, at some point during the evening, while DC was toweling off, someone sent their little girl, maybe 6, up to the stage. Some lady, whom she didn't know, held her up so DC could see her. He talked to the little girl for a minute and as she was leaving, everyone was shouting "Give her the towel." So, he did. He was making reference at this point to taking us all out for pizza and beer and then heading to his room. I never got to hear how this was going to end, as the little girl showed up. Finally, he said good night, but quickly came out for an encore, singing, "Hollywood Nights". Very Good.

In all, it was about 90 minutes long. Longer than most of his shows, I think. He played guitar on and off throughout the night. My husband enjoyed the jammin/riffing he was doing and wished he'd done more. He said he really had a good time. He said he enjoyed it because DC seemed to enjoy it so much. It wasn't like he was doing it for the money. Well, that's my DC experience. Btw, all the quotes are to the best of my recollection, and may not be completely accurate, but there to give you the flavor of it.

Hope you enjoyed it!
