Concert Reviews

Brighton, UK

May 4, 2004

After not much sleep we set off down stairs for breaky, before packing and setting off for Brighton. I had such a great time the night before at the show, that I decided I was going to swap seats with my friend Shelley, who had a seat in the raised stalls, left wing. I wanted Shelley to experience what I had.

The train trip, including waiting for connections to Brighton took us about 3 1/2hours to get there. It was cold, no.... it was B freezing, with a very chilly wind cutting through us. We got a taxi to our hotel and I tracked down Shelley and her husband. I gave Shelley my A42 ticket, told her why, and I didn't need her ticket as since my decision Lesley G had offered me her spare Row B seat. We went shopping, my 2nd favourite past time on my trip, got something for dinner, then went back to our hotel to have a quick nap and get ready for the show.

When we got to the venue, they had barriers up in front of the stage!!!! Bugger! The concert was great, David was in a great mood, laughing and joking around. I didn't care that he got some of the songs mucked up. It shows he is human. It was virtually impossible to get hand holds tonight, except when David came down off the stage to the barrier, which wasn't very often as some idiots tried to hang on to him. He did the same songs as the night before, except he didn't do Sweet li'l Angel on acoustic. He actually finished ITILY during the acoustic section this time. It is to die for...so much emotion in it. Just made me melt! He also sang "You make me feel so young" adding the line you make my feel so hung!!!!!!

People from the back kept trying to push out the front girls, and security told them to go back. They did for the acoustic section, then they stormed the front and one security guard standing in each aisle was no match for groups of about 20 women pushing them out of the way. Some of the front rowers got pushed out, and I stayed in row B with Agi and Mandy. Only took a few pix this night. Wanted to drink it all in, without being behind a camera lens. I didn't go for drinks after the show, needed to get some sleep since we were catching the 6.47am train from Brighton to London to get the Eurostar to Paris the next morning.
