Concert Review

House of Blues, Atlantic City, NJ

June 9, 2007

Great show! David was in a great mood and very energetic!

He did mostly remix stuff. He did Hush, Crossroads, No Reply, Blackbird, Hide Your Love Away, and Ain't No Sunshine. Teri is not longer his drummer. I didn't catch his name. I had front row and got to spend a good bit of the night at the stage. There was a barrier, but it was only about 2 feet from the stage and I managed to get 2 handholds!!

The winner of the dinner was a woman who came over from Belgium. She was so stunned she couldn't speak!! David announced her name himself and when she walked towards the stage she was in shock. When he repeated her name and asked if that was her, she was standing a few feet from me. All she could do was nod her head. She had tears welling up and could not possibly speak. It was an awesome moment for her and I loved watching her reaction!! It was great!! I would have passed out on the spot and it would have been an ugly scene!! LOL

The Shirt!

Before the encore he changed into a white button down shirt that looked like it had the titles of the songs from ATOB on it with words.(Editor's note: Song that David had penned) He didn't do Cry as an encore. That was a let down for me. I love when he does that song.

He gyrated ALL night!! And actually danced around the stage! Obviously his back in on the mend!!

A woman striped down to her bra and panties and was escorted out of the venue by security. I was up at the stage and didn't see this, but the people I was with saw it and told me about it. --- What does one say about that??? LOL

My good friend Brenda sent me her scarf to wear to the concert and I wanted to get it autographed for her, if I won the dinner. I didn't get it signed but, hey Brenda, he recognized it!! Right after my first hand hold, he pointed to it and smiled!

My husband went to this show with me. He is very anti DC. I think he went out of curiosity and he's a bit of a smartass and I wasn't sure what to expect from him. His words were : He's a good performer, but after nearly 40 years I wouldn't expect anything less. And his band is awesome. It was a good show just not my cup of tea. Since he was in the front and a man, David did look at him and say, " you could at least clap". I was up at the stage and wasn't sure if it was him he was talking to. I later asked him if he was talking to him and he said yes. But he said that he said that to him just as he was putting his camera in the case and it wasn't that he wasn't enjoying himself. --- Seems awful defensive coming from a man that sore he was going to throw a pair of his underwear up on the stage!! LOL

Oh yes, and someone threw a pair of underwear up on the stage!!

He took a poster off of someone, that was from the seventies. He held it against the front of his body and said, "pretty disappointing to look at once you get up to the face." At which time we all whole heartedly disagreed!!

Another poster was held up of him and the dog Simone. He said that he thinks he's seen virtually every picture taken of him but had never seen that one. And then he told a story of how, after the first year they wanted to get rid of Simone because they didn't want to pay the trainer. And how he would call the dog into scenes so that they would have to include it. And he did that just to piss them off because they were so cheap.

It was great show! Very high energy and he seemed to be having a great time! Loved it!!
