So, what's David's take on our Hot Topics discussion about sixth-grade students receiving sex surveys at school? He has already had "the talk" with his nine-year-old son, who heard some 10- and 11-year-olds talking about it at a Little League game. "How do you respond to 'What is sex?'" asks David. "It's a big umbrella...I told him about the actual act and what takes place and how babies are made, and he looked at me and he went, 'You didn't do that with Mama?'"

Both David's son and 14-year-old daughter want to be entertainers. Since David has had success as an actor, producer, songwriter and producer, he can protect them from the scams and the parasites in the business. "My parents were not educated in terms of business and didn't know the pitfalls of making a lot of money," he says. "They were preoccupied with the work...You have to be a much more savvy person now. There's a lot of pitfalls. It's a lot more competitive."

David currently stars in At The Copa, a Las Vegas show that he wrote and co-executive produced. He calls it a hybrid between a Broadway musical and a headliner performance in Vegas. David plays Johnny Flamingo, a waiter who becomes a star when the headliner is shot. Johnny eventually falls in love with Ruby Bombay, played by Sheena Easton.

David is also involved in kidscharities.org, which embraces 60 to 70 children's-related charities. The David Cassidy Celebrity Golf Tournament takes place on June 10 and 11 on the Rio Secco Golf Course in Las Vegas. The Totally Groovy '70s Polyester Ball takes place on June 11 at the Rio Hotel and Suites, also in Las Vegas. Visit kidscharities.org for more information.
