Charity Event, Los Angeles
March 16, 1989
David attended the Eighth Annual Celebrity Day on March 16, 1989, sponsored by the United Friends of California (UFC). The UFC is an organization of 40 volunteers dedicated to helping abused and neglected children at a sheltered facility in El Monte, California. This year, the UFC promised the children a new library. The day began with a children's breakfast and festivities at the home of Stacey and Henry Winkler. Afterward, everyone was free to do whatever they wanted, such as play softball, soccer, carnival, etc. According to the LA Herald (March 16, 1989), David said, "It was a very touching day. It's not often you get to talk to people you've seen on TV."
