Andy and David, who began recording and touring in concert two years ago at age 12, will portray a singing act. discovered by the Partridge Family's manager Reuben Kincaid (Dave Madden). Their partnership is threatened when they develop a crush on Laurie (Susan Dey) until Mother Partridge (Shirley Jones) provides a solution. Although this marks the dramatic debut of the brothers, they are no strangers to the television screen. They have been appearing on their famed uncle's family Christmas show since they were toddlers and have made numerous appearances on musical shows, such as The Mike Douglas Show, Sonny And Cher Comedy Hour and The Dean Martin Show. Singing is natural to Andy and David, whose father. Don. was once a member of the Williams Brothers quartet and their mother, Marilyn, had a singing and dancing act with her twin sister, Marcia.

In spite of their experience Andy and David found some adjustments were needed when it came to straight acting. The boys agreed that their fellow cast members went out of their way to make them feel at home.
