This Saturday, David Cassidy returns to the area for a show at The Riveria Theatre. Cassidy is best known for his role as Keith Partridge on the popular television show “The Partridge Family.” David comes from a line of famous entertainers, including his father, the late actor Jack Cassidy, and his brother, actor/singer Shaun Cassidy. His step-mother was Shirley Jones, who played Shirley Partridge, the matriarch of The Partridge Family.

Even though The Partridge Family was a fictitious band, they released a number of albums and produced major hits like “ I Think I Love You,” “I Woke Up In Love This Morning,” and “Come On Get Happy,” all featuring Cassidy on lead vocals.

In the 1970s, while on “The Partridge Family,” Cassidy released a series of platinum-selling albums. A combination of his successful television and music careers, along with his status as a team idol, made Cassidy a top concert draw, selling out arenas and sports stadiums around the world.

After “The Partridge Family” ended, Cassidy went on to record and perform, scoring a couple hits in the 90s, including “Lyin’ to Myself” and “No Bridge I Wouldn’t Cross.” His last album of new music was 1998’s “Old Trick New Dog.”

I saw Cassidy in 2013 at The Bear’s Den at the Seneca Niagara Casino, it was a fun evening of music and stories. David is still an engaging performer.

Tickets for the April 16 show, An Evening with David Cassidy, at The Riveria Theatre are available on their website, www.riveriatheatre.org.
