The Partridge Family - Season 2, Episode 16 (41)

Title: Fellini, Bergman and Partridge

First aired: January 14th, 1972

Synopsis:
Reuben takes Keith, Laurie and Danny to see some experimental student films. They all have something to say about the films. Laurie loved them, Danny and Keith hated them. Keith says he could do better than all those student films put together. After Laurie challenges him by asking if he could do better, he takes her up on her challenge.

Keith gets out the 8mm camera and asks Shirley, Laurie and Reuben if they could finance his movie, but when they all say no, he reluctantly lets Danny finance his movie.

Keith films various random clips of the family showing them in a funny way. The famous scene is when Danny tricks Reuben to be in Keith's movie by saying they are having a costume party, which makes for a very funny scene where Reuben is dressed in a fairy costume to be Dolly Madison in the film.

At the preview of showing the movie to the family, they are enjoying it and laughing so it gives Danny an idea by showing it to other peers. Danny's premier in the garage is a flop where no one shows up. Keith goes to Muldoon's Point, which gives Danny another idea to show it there, which makes the people there angry and embarrasses Keith.

Keith gets a call from a movie theatre who offers him $100 to show his film. The family and Reuben are all angry and say there is no way that he is going to show that movie in public. Keith won't agree not to show the film at the movie theatre, so the family say they will help him to edit out the embarrassing bits. Keith is upset that most of his film is gone now, with only shots of them waving and that isn't what the movie theatre wanted.

Shirley has an idea that if they don't want it shown at the movie theatre, they could show it at their concert if they all agree, which is what they do.

The episode ends with Keith and Danny going into business, selling posters of Reuben dressed in the fairy costume.
