The Partridge Family - Season 3, Episode 10 (59)

Title: Ain't Love Grand

First aired: November 17, 1972

Synopsis:
At a local tennis court Laurie meets a very handsome man. He is tall, blond with blue eyes and she is stunned by him. What’s more it turns out that he is the Partridges’ former neighbor, Greg Houser, and they used to be good friends.

Greg is very happy that they have met again and he proposes a date the same evening. At home, while Laurie waits impatiently for Greg, Keith and Danny make fun of her and call Greg her childhood sweetheart. Everybody is astonished when he arrives because they haven’t expected him to wear a clerical collar.

At first Laurie is very nervous, as doesn't know how to talk with a minister. They don’t go to the cinema but instead spend a couple of hours at Muldoon’s Point, sitting in a car and talking. When Shirley hears about Muldoon’s Point, she doesn’t know what to think about it. She is even more surprised when Laurie says that she is in love with Greg. She also invited him for dinner on Sunday. Of course, Shirley has nothing against dinner; she only tells Laurie that maybe it’s too fast to fall in love on the first date.

But after dinner, Greg kisses Laurie, and she tells her mother that now she is absolutely certain that she is in love with him. Shirley is worried and talks about it with Reuben. Laurie has dated a lot of boys, but never been so serious about any of them. They always talk about everything, but this time Shirley is afraid to ask Laurie about her plans and love for Greg.

Shirley is really concerned when Keith and Danny tell her that, instead of going for tennis practice, Laurie has left her tennis racket at home, taken her suitcase and written a note for her mother. The note is very short and enigmatic, and Shirley thinks that Laurie’s left home to marry Greg. She drives with Keith to the church to discover that Greg only asked Laurie to be a witness at her friend's wedding. Laurie apologizes for the note and tells her mother that she and Greg have decided not to see each other until Laurie finishes school.
