The Partridge Family - Season 3, Episode 3 (52)

Title: Princess and The Partridge

First aired: September 29, 1972

Synopsis:

Keith trying to get a date for the weekend, but he has no luck with girls he would want to go out with. Reuben arrives with amazing news. A princess from a European country, who is on an official visit in the USA and a Partridge Family fan, wants to meet The Partridge Family and have a date with Keith. Keith gets an official telegram from the Department Of State about her visit.

The whole family go to the San Pueblo Airport to greet the princess, Genevieve. She is very pretty and charming, but she is accompanied by diplomats and strong security. Keith is very nervous about the princess coming to dinner and for a date. He even prepares topics for conversation. It’s difficult to be at ease at dinner with the princess, knowing that there is a lot of security around the house. The princess asks to be called Genny and be treated like a friend, not royalty. But Keith and Genny are not allowed to spend time alone. Genny is very frustrated because of lack of freedom and tells Keith to kidnap her.

Keith dresses as a bellboy, and the princess secretly leaves the hotel with him. They go to a drive-in movie. Initially, Keith is very nervous and can’t forget that Genny is a princess and not just a girl who wants to spend her time with him. Genny is very sweet and charming, Keith relaxes, and they kiss. Unfortunately, at that moment a photographer takes a photo, and next day that picture with Genny and Keith on a date appears on the first page of San Pueblo Daily. The diplomats make a big deal out of it and insist that kidnapping and a date may cause an international affair. Shirley is able to calm down the diplomats by saying that Keith and Genny haven’t done anything wrong and that they just wanted to spend some nice time together, like all normal, young people.

That evening the princess watches The Partridge Family concert, and the next day she flies home.
