Frank the Musician – playing all Basses- upright, 4 string Fender precision 1968, 5 string Marcus Miller Custom Shop, 5 string. Nathan East Yamaha, Musicman 5 string frettless. All guitars nylon string, steel string acoustic and Casio strat synth guitar with midi, jazz guitar, gypsy jazz guitar, Mandolin and keyboards- keyboard bass. Born Pittsburgh Pa. Studied music since age 5. Performed on CBS Amateur Hour at age 12 in NYC. Playing professionally since age 14. Winner of Downbeat Magazine scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

At age 16 started playing with local jazz, performing concerts for the University of Pittsburgh and doing show work with the likes of George Kirby, Maureen McGovern, and many others. Frank then moved from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles to pursue goal of being a studio musician.

After moving to Los Angeles and joining Local 47 he landed a gig with the Pointer Sisters. After touring for a year with the sisters he joined Michel Le-Grand in Montreal as his house guitarist for a series of television specials which featured artist Paul Anka, Jerry Lewis, Neil Sedaka, Petula Clarke, and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. After returning to Los Angeles an offer was made to join the great Minnie Riperton. This lead to playing with Don Randi at his club, The Baked Potato, which then led to many recording dates. He became a staff member of Warner Brothers LA country division, producing some artists, recording commercials and TV.

After performing many weeks on the road in Las Vegas with The Fifth Dimension he moved to Las Vegas. He then began working with ‘The Midnight Idol”, Wayne Newton one the most popular acts in town. He performed opposite weeks with Frank Sinatra at Caesars Palace. Frank performed many tours with Newton including the White House for President Reagan, Fourth of July at the Washington Monument, a TV special for the BBC at the London Palladium. After leaving the Newton show he became house bassist for the Las Vegas Hilton, performing with Diane Carroll, Vic Damone, Charo, Suzanne Somers, Debbie Reynolds, Louise Mandrell, Jim Nabors, Joe Piscopo, Smothers Brothers and others. Frank then became house bassist for the Stardust Hotel playing both Lido de Paris and then Enter the Night production shows.

Frank is now the first call in Las Vegas for a freelancing musician specializing in upright bass, electric basses, and guitar when he isn’t travelling with David Cassidy as MD and Production mgr. and bassist. Frank also performs at many corporate events. He currently has CDs on the market and online at iTunes and CDbaby.
