Former teen idol and Partridge Family star David Cassidy has offered a $50,000 reward for the return of a ring given to him by his father. The ring holds special sentimental value to the singer--it depicts the Cassidy family crest, and it was given to David, the eldest of actor Jack Cassidy's four sons, when he turned 21. It is inscribed with a personalized message, and each of the other Cassidy boys--Shaun, Patrick, and Ryan--had one given to them by their father as well. David's mother is actress Evelyn Ward, while actress Shirley Jones--who played David's mother on The Partridge Family television series--is the mother of his brothers.

David is reportedly heartbroken over the loss. He is currently on his first tour in more than a decade and he believes he lost the ring at some point during his travels, or that it was taken from a dressing room. Cassidy was hoping to pass it on to his 10-year-old son, Beau, when he becomes an adult. David's father Jack died in a tragic house fire in 1976, at the age of 49.
