Half Heaven gives sire 50th stakes winner

David Cassidy and Edward Lipton's Half Heaven won Woodbine's River Memories Stakes last weekend at one mile and 70 yards on the new Polytrack surface at the Toronto facility. The River Memories was originally scheduled for turf.

Bred by Cassidy, Half Heaven became the 50th stakes winner by Regal Classic, who stands at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbred Farm.

Regal Classic, a 21-year-old son of Vice Regent, was a champion juvenile in Canada and is nearing the $2 million mark in progeny earnings for 2006.

He has exceeded the $2 million mark every year since 1995.

Half Heaven lifted her career earnings to $246,461 with the River Memories victory. Her record is 5-6-1 from 19 starts.

Half Heaven is out of Sand Pirate, a daughter of Desert Wine.

Sand Pirate is a half-sister to Sharp Looking Lady, the dam of millionaire Continental Red, winner of the Grade 2 San Luis Rey Handicap.
