Pop superstar David Cassidy will open the Bradford Creative and Performing Arts Center's 2006-07 season at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 30 in the Bromeley Family Theater in Blaisdell Hall on the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford campus.

"We are very excited to be able to bring a star of David Cassidy's calibre not only to Bradford but to a performance space as intimate as the Bromeley Family Theater," says BCPAC President Jim Guelfi. "It will be the best place to see him this side of Las Vegas."

David Cassidy, said Guelfi, has been a star for more than two generations, and he has legions of fans to prove it. He's a TV star, a recording star and a stage performer of the first rank.

Cassidy will perform cuts from his 18 gold and platinum albums that include four #1 singles: "Doesn't Somebody Want to be Wanted," "I Woke Up in Love this Morning," "Breaking Up is Hard to Do," and, of course, "I Think I Love You," not only a #1 single, but the biggest single of its release year.

Cassidy was, of course, a huge teen idol during his years on TV's "The Partridge Family." He then starred in the original production of the smash musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He broke records again touring with the musical Blood Brothers, after his stint in the Broadway production of the same play. Recently, Cassidy's been working in Las Vegas, where he has been named "Best All-Round Performer."

After a 15-year absence, David Cassidy has returned to the concert stages across the world.

"I've never gone out and changed my style to suit the times," he said. "I have always stayed true to myself by trying to sing and write about the human experience."
