David and Lori on NBC 10!

So I have to say, there are some people who are guests on the 10! Show and when the interview is over, it just seems like there wasn't enough time. Well, David Cassidy, a.k.a. Keith Partridge, was definitely one of those people!

He was one of the most down-to-earth celebrities I've ever met. My theory is he's stayed so humble because he worked so hard for his fame.

He didn't get paid much for his appearances on "The Partridge Family." To make money, he would leave the set of the show every Friday night after working all week to fly or drive to wherever he was in concert. He would do two shows on Saturday and two shows on Sunday -- not to mention the time he spent actually recording albums during the week. Wow!

Cassidy was a lot of fun during the interview and maybe even more fun during the commercial breaks. When the cameras stopped, I got the chance to ask him what he was most proud of in his career -- he told me it wasn't Broadway, it wasn't his singing, and it wasn't his acting or his shows in Vegas. It was the fact that he was a good parent. He has a 16-year-old son and a daughter who is a little older.

He says he has lived such a fast life that he's really glad he has had the chance to spend time with his kids and to help develop each into a good person. I think his kids also keep him young. Hey, his son is the one who gave him his new haircut. He decided to update songs from "The Partridge Family" after all these years on his latest album. He said it was because he wanted to do it while he was still living. The name of his new album is "David Cassidy II: The Remix."

What amazed me the most was the way people in our studio audience and around the world respond to Cassidy -- the way he responds right back! When we asked viewers to send in e-mails with questions for him, the e-mails poured in from as far away as London and New Zealand.

After his last segment on the show, we asked him to record a show "ID." That's where he says, "Hi, I'm David Cassidy and you're watching the 10! Show on NBC 10 in Philadelphia." I tell you, it took him at least seven takes to get it right! In his defense, he had to memorize it, and because he's not from Philadelphia, he kept saying the wrong station name.

The show "ID" was done in front of the live studio audience. Every time he messed up, they went crazy. Each time, they would laugh harder and he would ham it up for the camera and the crowd even more.

Cassidy was a lot of fun -- a perfect way to end the week.

Don't forget we're pre-empted for tennis Friday!

See you next week!
