After being a teen heartthrob, now what?

Don't even get a tween girl started on the Jonas Brothers unless you're prepared to giggle about the No. 1 topic: Who's the cutest? Nick, 15, Joe, 19, or Kevin, 20? The hottest heartthrobs of the moment are in Tampa tonight, and already our music critic, Sean Daly, is steeling himself for the jet-level decibels of squeals. Good grief, what's with these kids today, we wonder - until we look back at some teen idols through the years.

What happened to those cuties we used to follow in Tiger Beat?

Bobby Sherman

Now 65, he was a regular on the cover of Tiger Beat in the late 1960s and early '70s. Anybody remember carefully cutting out his records from the back of Post cereal boxes? Those are worth big bucks now.

Sing it: Little Woman; Julie (Do Ya Love Me); Easy Come, Easy Go; La La La.

That's weird: He built a large model of Disneyland's Main Street by hand in his yard. (Gotta see it on his Web site, www.bobbysherman.com.)

Six degrees of separation: Sherman loves Disney; Jonas Brothers are product of Disney machine.

Whatever happened to him? An emergency medical technician, Sherman teaches first aid and CPR to L.A. Police Department cadets.

David Cassidy

Now 58, he was best known as Keith Partridge on The Partridge Family in the 1970s. Half brother Shaun Cassidy (Da Doo Ron Ron) latched onto David's fame and became a teen idol, too. He's now 49.

Sing it: I Think I Love You, Cherish, Come on Get Happy.

That's weird: He had the teeny-boppers all atwitter in 1972 when he posed nude in Rolling Stone for photographer Annie Leibovitz.

Six degrees of separation: Leibovitz took the famed Vanity Fair photo of Miley Cyrus, who dated Nick Jonas.

Whatever happened to him? He's still living the dream. At your next party bust out a dance remix of Cassidy's most popular songs, which you can buy at www.davidcassidy.com. He performs in Orlando Nov. 3-5.

Leif Garrett

Now 46, he was a teen heartthrob/singer/actor in the mid to late 1970s.

Sing it: Runaround Sue, I Was Made for Dancin'.

That's weird: He shacked up with actress Nicollette Sheridan when she was a teen. In his mom's home.

Six degrees of separation: Uh, none that we can see. Pretty much the anti-Jonas.

Whatever happened to him? He dropped an album, Three Sides of . in 2007, but nobody cares. He's mainly known for his drug troubles and a scary mug shot. Garrett also makes the rounds of D-list celebrity reality shows, winning the celebrity edition of Fear Factor in 2006.

Hanson

The bubblegum pop band of three brothers - Isaac, 27, Taylor, 25, and Zac, 22 - broke out with their annoyingly catchy monster hit MMMBop in 1997.

Sing it: MMMBop, Where's the Love.

That's weird: They are the oldest of seven siblings and they've got a bunch of babies themselves: Taylor is expecting his fourth, Isaac has two and Zac has one. All are married.

Six degrees of separation: Could they be the Jo Bros in 10 years? Adorable, family-oriented brothers who tour on a bus. And reportedly the whole family, babies and all, comes along.

Whatever happened to them? They're on tour, but their sound is more acoustic now, and their fans aren't quite so screamy. See them at the Orlando House of Blues on Oct. 9.

Jonas Brothers, 7 tonight at the Ford Amphitheatre, Interstate 4 at U.S. 301 N in Tampa. $25-$79.50. (813) 740-2446.
