Once In A Lifetime

A HOST of living legends will be hitting the LG Arena stage later this year as David Cassidy, Leo Sayer, Hot Chocolate and Smokie join the 2012 'Once In A Lifetime Tour' in November.

Between them they've had 55 Top 10 hits and have sold over 200 million records, and on 9 November pop fans will get to see their idols live on stage as part of a nationwide arena tour.

From television to recording and record-breaking concert tours, David Cassidy made his mark on the industry starting out on American TV and since then has gone on to be one of the biggest stars of the 70s.

Before the end of 1970, David had the Number 1 selling single of the year and had garnered multiple Grammy nominations. Over the next five years, his fan club had exceeded that of Elvis and the Beatles. He was also the first star to be merchandised globally, with his face appearing on everything from posters to lunchboxes. David was responsible for seven chart-topping 'Partridge Family' singles and had further solo hits including 'Cherish', 'Could It Be Forever', 'How Can I Be Sure', 'Rock Me Baby' and 'Lyin' to Myself'.

David will be joined by fellow 70s legend, Leo Sayer, who began his career writing hits for the likes of Roger Daltrey from The Who. Leo launched his own singing career in 1973 went on to become an artist in his own right, with hits like 'The Show Must Go On', 'You Make Me Feel Like Dancing' and 'When I Need You'. In his career, which has spanned over 40 years, he's had hit after hit, appeared with the Muppets and was even part of the Charlie's Angels Soundtrack.

Also appearing on the tour will be superstars Hot Chocolate, a British pop band best known for 'You Sexy Thing', which has made the Top 10 in three separate decades. Between 1970 and 1984, the band had at least one hit each year, firmly securing their place in the music hall of fame. Founded by Lead singer Errol Brown, Hot Chocolate started their career with a reggae version of John Lennon's 'Give Peace a Chance' and went on to front hits like 'Emma', 'So You Win Again', 'Every 1s a Winner' and 'It Started With a Kiss'.

Completing the stellar line-up is rock band Smokie, who stormed the scene back in 1975 with their second album 'Changing All The Time', which saw European success for tracks like 'If You Think You Know How to Love Me' and 'Don't Play Your Rock and Roll to Me'. Their third album, 'Midnight Cafe' established the group as a pop phenomenon and yielded a string of successful singles, including their cover of New World's 'Living Next Door to Alice' in 1976, which went on to become their biggest hit.

The 'Once In A Lifetime' tour is set to be one of the biggest shows of the year, giving fans the chance to see their idols live on stage. To find out more about the show, visit www.lgarena.co.uk.
