David Cassidy to guest star on 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation'

By Adam J. Langton

David Cassidy

Aside from a brief tenure on 2011's 'The Celebrity Apprentice,' David Cassidy hasn't been seen much on television for a few years. But the dreamboat of the 1970s is slated to make a rare television appearance in an upcoming episode of 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.'

In the upcoming 'CSI' episode, Cassidy will play an aging poker player named Mr Coe. Mr. Coe has subjected himself to massive injections of botox in order to keep a "poker face" at the table--being left expressionless by injections of botulism has kept him wrinkle-free and in the money. There's just one problem: what happens when a casino boss rules that his "poker face" is a form of cheating? Just what will this pit boss do when Mr. Coe refuses to return his winnings? Well, given that this description is for an episode of 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,' it's safe to say that we all have a pretty good idea of what happens next.

Katie Cassidy

Cassidy, now aged sixty-two, was part of 'Ruby and the Rockits' in 2009; it was a short-lived television series created by his family members Shaun Cassidy and starring Patrick Cassidy. David's last high-profile network television appearance was a decade ago in a 2003 episode of 'Malcom in the Middle.'

These Cassidys are permeating television once again, as David's daughter, Katie Cassidy, is presently starring as Laurel Lance on the hit CW action series 'Arrow.' Katie had previously reached fame and recognition in her role of Juliet on 'Gossip Girl.

David Cassidy's episode of 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' will air on CBS on February 27.
