David’s Star – on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars

The funds have been raised; no further monies are being asked for. Unfortunately the ceremony and installation of David’s Star planned for last April (on his birthday) did not take place because of the pandemic. But now we would like all who are interested to join us in planning for this event when everywhere is opened up again. Carolyn, Lynne and Becky are in regular contact with Marilyn Ball, the president of the LVWOS, and will keep you up-to-date with information as soon as they get it themselves on the David Cassidy’s Las Vegas Star 2021 Facebook page. They are planning a “ball” for all DC fans as well as a respectful memorial to the man who gave us so much pleasure in his life

  1. I hope the ceremony and the installation of David’s star is able to take place soon ,once it becomes safer ,due to the pandemic. He was truly a star who so deserved to be honoured and remembered with this event. I wish all who are able to attend a lovely memorable day .

  2. This is such wonderful news. Gratitude to all those who worked so hard to make it happen. Looking forward to more updates…this is just fantastic and so well-deserved. Well, that is an understatement actually —he lit up our lives just like the Las Vegas skyline at night and continues to do so.

  3. David would be so proud at what his fans have achieved in getting this star 🌟 in his honour……He so deserves this.

  4. I did some small donations to the Star. David deserves this honor and so many more.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend the event but hope everyone who can enjoy for me and for David himself
God Bless you, my sweet love 💝

  5. I am so excited to attend the dedication ceremony for David’s Las Vegas star. He deserves it so very much. I was all set to go last year and a little disappointed, but wild horses couldn’t keep me away one the special day.Excited to see all of my FB DC friends there. Thanks to all the dedicated and hard working individuals who brought this about.God bless and ill see you in Vegas!!!

  6. I’m so happy that this will happen in due course, David so richly deserves this. I wish I could be there on the day. If those able to attend could take some photos at the event it would be much appreciated. I think David also deserves further recognition such as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Sandra from Sydney.

  7. Hi I agree! David should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Seems like that organization works backwards, the Beatles didn’t get inducted until 1988 & Elvis in 1986, are they joking? David should be there with them!

  8. Fabulous news – so deserved. David was multi-talented with a voice like no other. I saw him in many concerts in Manchester over the years, in London in Time, in London in Blood Brothers ( also meeting him back stage after the show, organised by Bill Kenwright) and I saw him in the 2000th show of EFX. He had the most amazing work ethic . And his message of love and light stands today as always . Xx God bless him on the other side xx

David definitely belongs in the RRHoF!!! Played guitar like Clapton and Hendrix . He had the full spectrum of music and acting.

  9. Hi Lyn .you were so lucky to see David so many times .and to have seen him in blood brothers and meeting him back stage .I was lucky enough to see David in concert at the Empire pool wembley in 1973 .he was truly amazing. I also agree David should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I did write to them a couple of years ago .you just have to listen to Cassidy Live Album with songs such as Delta Lady, and For what it’s Worth. and C.C Rider .to see he is so worthy of this recognition. He was such a great actor and singer and performer .

  10. I signed a petition to get him inducted, it was nice to read the comments too. David should definitely be there! I don’t understand how the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame selects the musicians, like I noted above, why did it take so long for the Beatles and Elvis to be inducted?
That’s nuts, they are major, players, mega superstars & so is David, he should be right up there with them. David is SO talented in SO many diffrent ways. I hope he gets in.

  11. ….I donated to the Star 🌟…..and David deserves this soo much…but sad I won’t be their…but know fan’s who are will make sure they keep us updated….love forever….and a day David xx👌💋❤❤🥰🌟

  12. Hello everyone,

I’ve just been listening to A Touch of Blue and again loving David’s wonderful voice…and again sad that his unique voice didn’t take him on a journey that made him another Sinatra or Crosby. I listened after a KD Lang CD, and would have loved to have heard them singing a duet together. The quality of his voice is similar and this is the calibre of artist he was. I was listening to John Bahler talk about David’s voice and he said he sounded like no other. He also said that David wanted to sound like someone. I was shocked to hear this. Great singers like him are unique. He didn’t need to sound like anyone but himself.

Sending you all my best wishes. I hope that you and your families are well. It has been a terrible time for so many, but at least now, we can see some light at the end of the tunnel. Take care, Lyn

    • Hi Lyn, it’s so great to hear from you. Im listening to David’s music a lot in recent 2 months too, bc of my blog..and I’m just in awe of his voice.. again..started from the very beginning..and compering DC’s versions with the originals..bc he did a lot of covers but each time he made with those songs sth new, his own..and also how hard he worked..so many songs worth to write about..Ive written 36 posts and Im only in 1977..his music, his voice helped so much last year.. Take care too and all DC’s fans..

      • Hi Weronika, Lovely to hear from you too.

We are so lucky to have so much that he recorded, and that his musical intelligence and creativity allowed him to interpret songs (his own and others) beautifully.

I’ve been having a journey listening to music recently because a friend gave me an old vintage hifi amplifier and speakers. I’ve been listening to vinyl and cds, and it’s like it’s the 1970s. In some of David’s songs the speakers seem to be able to reproduce that velvety voice so incredibly I am in 1974 and 2021 at the same time!

I’m glad that listening to David has helped you through in the last year. I wonder if you could post a link to your blog..I knew you had started it, but somehow I’ve lost the link. Would be lovely to have a look.

All the best to you and all, Lyn

  13. Hi. I agree, listening to David this past year in particular has helped and continues to help me get through this crazy mess. Even after 51 years, he still melts my heart. I will love you forever David!!! 💚💙💚💙

  14. Hi Lyn,
Yes..I’ve been thinking about buying vinyls for such a long time..I never had really. In the 70s we didn’t have western albums at all, only on the black market, awfully expensive, so..And when I started listening to music again, there were cds..
    That’s the link :

  15. Hi. Oh my gosh, the pictures of David on the update for today from 11/22/17 are BEAUTIFUL!! I feel so sad right now that he’s not here physically. I love David so, so, so much, his sweet smile and beautiful face light up the world. I love you forever David!! 💚💙💚💙

    • Thanks, interesting… I was also astonished myself watching that ep for the first time some years ago .In the 70s, in Poland I never heard that word – feminism.. and it’s not only in that episode that it was spoken about..I’ve learnt a lot about America in the 70s watching TPF

  16. Congratulations on David’s Las Vegas Walk of Stars so deserving of this honor and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should follow suit in Inducting David Bruce Cassidy and Barry Manilow into its illustrious and distinguish venue of entertainers that they so justly deserve.
