David Cassidy Memorial Race – August 18, 2018

A memorial race in honor of David Cassidy will take place on the Alabama S. undercard at Saratoga Saturday, August 18, 2018.

According to a Facebook page devoted to the event, the David Cassidy Memorial Race will honor his “love of Thoroughbred racing and his horsemanship” and that friends and fans of David will take a tour of the Saratoga paddock pre-race before being invited into the winner’s circle for the post-race photo.

David Cassidy leads in Sweet Vendetta, a filly he bred in partnership, following the 2008 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes.

  1. It’s so lovely how David is being remembered for who he was and for his love of horses ,love of thoroughbred racing and horsemanship with a memorial race and also the tribute concert Aug 14 th .wish I could go to both but I’m in the UK. I bet David is smiling down ,happy this is being done in his memory .Thanks to the web team for letting us know

  2. Awesome! It’s a really fitting tribute to him. I am so pleased for David. It’s wonderful that so many people care about this lovely man and make the effort to show they care. I wish I could be there to show support. Does anyone know who is organising this tribute?

        • This was on David’s face book, written by David’s drummer, Teri Cote – she mentioned David’s x girlfriend, Maura Rossi, and the band did not realise the two events to honour David were so close in dates – but as they are quite different events, I’m sure they will both be very successful.

  3. I’m just excited to hear this, David Cassidy loved all this, the horses, the people, and his knowledge of racing, and for a glimpse into what David’s world was like at the track, this is so wonderful for friends and fans to be included, and to honor David. I would love to be there, the bench for David and the ceremony after I attended, that was so wonderful, Saratoga Springs N.Y. is such a welcoming town, that when you get there you feel a immediate connection that you feel at home. For fans who have not gotten to Saratoga, in honor of David, this event is a nice honor, and sounds fun, and David would want that for everyone.

  4. I think this is a wonderful way to honour David, I’m sure he’d be thrilled. It’s wonderful recognition for his strong support of and involvement in horseracing and his love for horses and their welfare. I wish I could be there for this event as I also would have loved to have been there at his Memorial Bench opening and concert in Saratoga in May. I hope many fans come to support this event. This beautiful man will not be forgotten and I am so happy about this. Thank you Saratoga and thanks Jane for letting us know about this.

  5. What a great way to honour David,he would be so happy knowing this is taking place.Davids knowledge and passion for horses and horse racing was inpecable. For any fans that will be attending have a lovely time and keep us informed of your visit. Thanks Jane for all the hard work you are putting into the website,it’s much appreciated.

  6. Awwww, this is so wonderful…… Did any of you notice that people from Saratoga who are involved with horses are the only ones doing beautiful tributes for David? Anyone of the show business have moved just a finger in his honor or mentioned him since he left us- That make me feel sad because he also was a talented actor, singer, songwriter, musician so… Thank you Saratoga ♥

  7. Araceli and Weronika i was also thinking the same thing but didn’t like to say. I thought something would have been in the pipe line to make up for the lack of funeral. To be honest I was shocked by how low key a send off David got and thought perhaps it was due to the relationship he had with his family. Actions speak louder than words, well done to David’s band and to Maura for organising events.

    • Hi Catherine,I so agree with your comment low key send off,but really thought as time passed we fans of 47 years would have got something for David, but nearly 8 months later I don’t see this happening, the music industry also have done nothing and when you think of the 70’s DAVID was the 70’s shame on them.Thank you Davids Band,Samantha Susan Cox,Maura Rossi for getting things moving doing a great job remembering his legacy.

  8. Catherine, Susan Samantha Cox, did a tremendous honor for David Cassidy, memorial tribute Bench, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. and she also did the celebration of David’s life, later that same day, May 20,2018 was a special day. I agree with what Arcelia said, and hi Arcelia, and hi Yvonne, we all must continue our hard work to get David inducted into the rock roll hall of fame, we all can write a letter. It’s still hurts losing David, and David’s family needs time, so us fans want more for David’s reconinition, as a true artist, singer, actor songwriter, and his impact in the entertainment world, one step at a time, we will get so much more done for David. Because we all are never going to stop celebrating David Cassidy, and things will continue to grow in his honor. What is so special, is each David Cassidy fan is loyal and we have all been here for eachother. Hi Felicia, so, so, so, glad we our real friends, and it all started by one special star, who gave so much and staying a true David Cassidy fan, gave us togetherness, and forty some years ago I never imagined what was ahead, because I just enjoyed all David Cassidy did. And thank you Jane, I enjoy what you have done.

    • Hi Denice,if us as fans of David don’t keep his legacy alive I don’t know who will. The music industry should be ashamed of themselves he gave everything he had to them and us fans, knowing now he was sad, lonely and didn’t want to become a teen idol. The music industry used him as a money making machine and when he challenged them and rightly so,the higher archery that they are have dismissed him every way possible,I know David knew what they were like I also know as I have said before my nephew in the same line of work “Same Record Label As David” believe me they will not change their mind. How dare anyone challenge them.

  9. Hi Denice, good post and the benches at Saratoga are amazing. I read on Facebook what Samantha said she is a true fan of David

  10. Thanks Catherine , I think we just got started on David’s legacy, and the family needs time to heal, it must be the hardest on them. Just a big thank you to Susan Samantha Cox, she accomplished so much for David, us fans will always be here.

  11. Hi Denise,it would be nice to get David inducted into the rock roll hall of fame .I am willing to write a letter ,but I don’t have details where to send it to .If someone could please let me know .I read on David’s website ,awhile ago about perhaps having a scholarship fund in David’s name for musicians .another idea was a star for David cassidy on the Hollywood walk of fame ,or his own music museum ,because you have said Denise we will never stop celebrating David cassidy

  12. Yes, Susan Samantha Cox, David’s Band, Maura Rossi , also Timm McCoy , and enough money was gathered for memorial plague at Phoenix Theatre. I’m so happy, and fans have some great ideas – a scholarship or e.g. a contest for young musicians who could sing David Cassidy songs , an album with David’s covers… We know how fantastic legacy he left. But it would be great to see sth on a bigger scale, and what can we do? When Freedie Mercury died it was that big concert, we could watch it live even in Poland. So,I understand of course David’s family needs time but without them ..I don’t know it’s just hard ..it’s just my thoughts. Of course we will be writing and talking about David Cassidy to the end. It’s just so frustraiting ..

      • Thanks Yvonne for answering my question. I just looked into how much it costs to get a star and it’s $30,000.000. Unbelievable. Plus the nominee has to be approved by a committee. Not a easy task.

  13. They are doing a lovely tribute in Australia also. A girl is raising money for another bench there. Step by step things seems to be starting to get better honoring David all around the world. And that´s sooooo great!! We miss you David but you will live forever in our hearts ♥

    • Hi Araceli,it’s wonderful fans worldwide are taking things into their own hands, that’s how much he meant to each and every fan each corner of the world.

  14. Let’s all send love and prayers to Susan Samantha Cox,who suffered a heart attack this past weekend, she is out of hospital doing well at this time, beautiful woman with a heart of gold.God Bless and get well soon.pp

    • Oh my goodness! I just read this. Sending Susan Samantha Cox many prayers and much love.
      Blessings to you Susan…Julie Wood

  16. Danny Bonaduce recently gave an interview – says David could play electric guitar with his fingertips in an expert way he didn’t see again until years later with Van Halen!

  17. David was interested in horses from childhood – saying riding ponies was when he felt at his happiest. He won an early pony race on a pony called Blue Ribbon and got his first horse when he was about fifteen, as soon as he could afford it! He was interested in horse racing, looking at the form, as far back as the Partridge Family. But I was thrilled when I found out he was interested in the horses welfare, too. Even in the photo above you can clearly see how much David loved horses!

  18. This is the address to get David Cassidy nominated in the class of 2019, into the rock roll hall of fame, let’s write our letters, of how we feel, and why David Cassidy should be there, when I think of David Cassidy, than and now, music, his musical talent, his singing voice , wrote and produced music, and in the seventies, he was a rock roll star who sold out stadiums, and broke records all on his own, and there’s so much more,to include about David, so here is the address , write to, President- Rock – Roll Hall Of Fame Foundation, 1290 Avenue Of America’s ,2ND Floor, New York , N.Y. 10104 USA, and you to all, happy July 4, and I love all your posts.

    • Hi Denice, thank you for the address to send a letter to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to get David nominated in the class of 2019, mailing off my letter tomorrow, he so deserves to be in the rock hall.

  19. Thanks Denise for answering my post now I have the address I can write my letter to get David nominated into the rock roll hall of fame .If we all write a letter than hopefully that will happen ,that would be fantastic David deserves this so much ,for all his hard work and talent

  20. David, I don´t know if you celebrate in Heaven, but just in case: Happy 4th of July to you, my sweet angel. I love you and miss you so much. God bless you ♥

And to all my American friends, have a great celebration today!!!

  21. HI everyone! Just signed the petition. I hope Ms. Cox is recovering well . Hope all in U.S. had a great fourth! I’m sure this memorial race will have David smiling! Everyone take care and God bless.
    Debbie

  22. Sending very best wishes for a speedy and full recovery to Susan Samantha Cox.

All her tireless hard work in getting the “Famiy & Friends” DC memorial bench at Saratoga was awesome.

Susan, you will be in my daily prayers. Get well soon.

    • Dear May, Debbie, Claudette & ALL on this site who love David,

      Please, please take courage!
Yes, David’s family, friends, colleagues, loved ones and all of us continue to grieve him; This person who DID bring Light and Love to our lives, HOWEVER, DAVID IS NOW IN A GOOD PLACE.
We count on the promises given to us by Our Lord and Saviour.

    • Poor Samantha – she did her best to get David remembered at Saratoga, and seemed a lovely lady from her face book – I wish her a speedy recovery.

  23. Ugh..tears all the time … as soon as I come in here and here his songs on radio
I’m still grieving I swear … God bless you David thinking of your family
My first crush … ❤️ 7 years old …and now 55 … remember like it was yesterday

    • You’re right May. It does seem like yesterday. I was 8 now 56. Hard to believe he is gone. I guess because we were all so young. He brought out all those feelings. My Grandmama used to say ” time waits for no one. ” He put so much of his heart in his talents. A unique and kind artist. Always loved and missed.
      Debbie

  24. I used to watch the partridge family when I was twelve and I am now 58 .This afternoon I have been watching some of my partridge family DVD s . David looked so young ,makes me feel very sad ,the way his life turned out ,and I am finding it very hard to accept his passing . I never thought it could hurt so much

  25. In the last few months of his life, after the film, David did have some happy times. He was still attending sports events in Florida with friends, such as la crosse matches. He was still taking a keen interest in horses, although he no longer owned horses himself – and was giving advice weekly to race horse trainers because he was such an expert and they respected his opinion. He was practising guitar every day – and had made new friends in Florida and around the world – he will be dearly missed by many, and of course, all his loving fans. Danny has said the film didn’t turn out as David would’ve wanted, but at least people could respect his dedication to his craft, no matter what. That was all part of David’s work ethic, installed in him by his father.

  26. Thank you Clare , it’s good to know David was still enjoying life and was getting involved in activities he loved for as long as his health permitted. I also read online that he had a great sense of humour and liked to laugh a lot.

  27. Just reading about David and Neil Sedaka – Neil went to one of David’s concerts in 1974 and heard David’s slow, blues version of ‘Breaking up is hard to do.’ He liked it so much, he did his own slow version of the song and it went on to be a huge hit. David could’ve released his own version!

  28. Doreen – I know you thought I had strong views about the film David made. I now know David had wanted to do the film. However, he couldn’t have any say on the editing of it and I thought wouldn’t want to be filmed when he was so ill towards the end of his life. However, I have now comes to terms with it, and think it did show David’s heroic determination to carry on with whatever he had committed to. Also, I didn’t mean to tell people not to watch it – that isn’t any of my business!

    • Thank you Claire.
As i live in the UK I haven’t had the chance to see the film yet, but from those that have the impression I get is that David was asked several times by his band and those doing the filming if he wanted them to stop fiming, he said no and to carry on. Anyway, we all have to be careful how we phrase things so that we give our opinion, but not tell people what to do.
Now it is time to let it rest and be kind to one another as David would want us all to be.
      Doreen

  29. Claire,
I haven’t seen the film (have no chance here) , and still have mixed feelings about it, but one thing is certain, all of us love David Cassidy.

Just want to write that I always read your posts about David and his love for horses. Great stories , about this pony Blue Ribbon , and how David Cassidy was always interested in horses walfare.. Please keep writing. Every year I pay some money for a dog shelter and this year I also have paid for a shelter for retired horses.

  30. I feel so disconnected from this web site. I wish
I could go to the tribute concert. I have a kitten
now and that limits my travel. The high lite of
my life was going to Saratoga Springs in May
and meeting my friend Denice, who I met on
this web site. I had the time of my life. I look
forward to David Cassidy Day on May 20,2019,
in Saratoga Springs. I just want to say hello to
my favorite people. Hi Denice, my very dear
friend! Hello to Susan Cox, Yvonne Sheridan,
Araceli, Margaret, Caren, Barb, Robyn, Dawn,
Charlotte . I want to wish everyone of you
a great day! David has been gone for 8 months.
There is not much more to say! He is missed
and his love will forever live on in our hearts!
I read all the post and it seems the fans have
so much to offer. Take care everybody!

    • Don’t feel disconnected, Felicia. Like you; I’m not going to anything at all, just now, and I know all about the limitations created by our pet choices etc. I get the feeling that lots of people read the posts, anyway. They’re silent “contributors”… definitely connected and not alone. Take care. Sian

  31. Felicia
Please don’t feel disconnected. Your trip to Saratoga has inspired a group of us to meet in Syon Park London which will be fantastic. It’s great to be able to comment on all things David with like minded fans. Everyone has their own David Cassidy stories to share and that is really nice.

  32. Miss David so much. Listening to his music right now. One of a kind, such talent.
    Love to all his fans.
    Sheils (Scotland) xx

  33. I remember when David was alive and he kindly agreed to answer fans questions on this site. He had hundreds submitted. I thought it best to ask questions he might be able to answer, I knew some were getting too complicated or personal. It was hard to know what to ask. I went for about ten – well, no-one said you could only have one go! And David did answer one of my questions which was about the musical instruments he played and if he still practised. But my original question was about the name of the horse he used to be pictured with in the 1970s. It was a big palomino horse and I thought it belonged to David. One of David’s fans answered my question and told me the horse was named Apollo. When I was reading one of the magazines on David’s face book, I discovered Apollo wasn’t actually David’s horse at all, and he had only borrowed it from some friends. Obviously, even if he had wanted to answer that question, he didn’t know which horse I was talking about, because it wasn’t his horse!

  34. My last two posts have been removed. I have no idea why. I guess I will stop posting. I wonder if this one will remain. Everyone take care and God bless.
    Debbie

  35. Felicia I really liked your post, yes we had a great time meeting for the first time in Saratoga, we celebrated David Cassidy together, and with so many David Cassidy fans, Susan Samantha Cox, got something special in remembrance for David in his honor, the bench and celebration of life, I felt a togetherness , and Felicia friendship means I found a new definition of friendship. When I became a David Cassidy fan, I was just like you all, excited about David Cassidy, his singing voice, and Cassidymania, I never stopped being David’s fan, and I feel now life has reasons, we all belong here together, I would love to go to the concert, David band is hot to trot, they be in horse country, let’s all help save more racehorses to a cause David Cassidy worked hard for, and Mauri I would love to attend your event also, what a special month in August in Saratoga Springs N.Y., And to you fans in the U.K. have a best time ever when you all met up, and make lifetime friendships, and enjoy celebrating David Cassidy, and please don’t leave us out, keep us posted when you all are together.

  36. Thank you Deb , I enjoyed the article, and so nice seeing David be honored and celebrated. And everyone coming together.

  37. Denice I just loved reading your post ! I feel
connected again to this website. Sian thank you
for responding to my last post. Debbie Mackey
don’t stop posting, don’t take it personal because
your post got removed. Back to Denice I loved
meeting you in person in Saratoga Springs.
I want everyone on this website to know
what a wonderful person you are. Is there
anybody else out there who met on this
website and became friends? David Cassidy
brought people together. He will always be
one of a kind. I love this website!

    • Felicia, if only we could be like Samantha in “Bewitched” and put in a few speedy appearances all over the place… Sian

    • Hi Felicia, so nice to see you back again…

You asked: Is there anybody else out there who met on this website and became friends? Here you are my reply to you: Jane (David´s webmaster)… We had been friends before for so long but just online. We finally got to meet each other in Manchester and Sheffield at David´s concerts in 2007. It was fantastic to meet a friend who lived so far away from me. We still remind friends and will be forever and all thanks to our sweet David. It is not just wonderful?
Hugs to you all from a very hot Spain ♥

    • Hi Felicia, great hearing from you again,it’s very hard making comments on the website as David can no longer read them, like yourself I have not been visiting here much,so glad I did……we all loved him so much and little by little we are coming to terms he has gone……but fans from all corners of the world are doing wonderful things in honouring his memory.A big hello to Denice ,Sheila,Araceli have a great weekend…..Thank you Jane for keeping his website up and running……Lots of love Yvonne ❤️

  38. Maybe I should try to go to Saratoga Springs, in NY, to celebrate my birthday, I was born, in New York, on August 18, 1959, and will turn, 59, this year!
It sounds like a nice tribute to him!
I am still in love with him!
    teen fan
(I did not know that he had passed away last year?)
I just watch one of the Partirdge Family reruns yesterday! He was so cute!

  39. Hi Denise, yes ,thank you I am really looking forward to meeting the other fans . It will be nice to make new friends ,through David’s website .He always had a way of making me feel happy .and that’s what he always wanted to bring joy to peoples lives .we will keep you posted when we are together

  40. Hi Felicia, so nice to see you back again…

41. Thanks Claudette, I will be looking forward, you all will have a great time, And hi Arcelia, I’m glad Felicia asked that question, that is so nice you and Jane have been friends, and for a long time, being a David Cassidy fan really joins people together, David Cassidy impact was worldwide, he offered us so much, and I’m so thankful I was a fan, I never imagined myself getting hooked like a fish and having a favorite star I would admire forever. Now this website is a truly special place for us David Cassidy fans, I encourage fans who are shy to post, join us , I love everyone’s posts, August in Saratoga, I can’t wait to see pics and wish all the fans going, a great special time, and remembering the one and only , our special David Cassidy.

  42. Sylvia, if you go to Saratoga, celebrate your birthday and David, take a chance, everyone is so nice there, and you will get to be with other David Cassidy fans, he has the best fans.

  43. Hi Yvonne, it was good hearing from you, please don’t go away from this site, this was David’s site, and he’s gone home to heaven, remember he did it right here , messaging us fans, I think he would want us all to stay, and we all have become friends, that really says alot, happiness and love David spread, and each fan here is keeping David Cassidy’s legacy open for new outcomes, and I realize now more than ever how precious life is. All the fans here have a great weekend and enjoy your life, and I’m looking forward to the August events for David, I’m not going, but I’ll be wishing all there a memorable time.

    • Hi Denice, great to hear from you…..No I won’t be leaving the site as this was Davids,I just find it difficult coming here knowing he is no longer here communicating with us personally…….David had certain persona about him like no other entertainer/singer that could bring us fans together and become friends, the reason he was real…….such a loving, giving, caring person who cared for us fans dearly xx Miss him so much.

  44. I am looking forward to our David Cassisy day meeting in London in August…there will be about 6 of us. Syon Park looks lovely, it is nice to think the Daydreamer video shown on Top of the Pops was filmed here. I imagine in the USA there was a different video?

    • Hi Beverley, when you ladies meet up have a great time, you will all have fantastic stories to share about David. He certainly brought people together.

        • Hi Beverley, yes I was very privileged in seeing David live in concert 1973,1974,1985,2001,2002,2004,2005,2007,2008,2011,2012 in the UK……I was so blessed to have seen him at BB Kings March 2016 and then at The Golden Nugget Las Vegas February 2017.I saw him in Blood Brothers January 1996 and that was where I got to meet him.

          • Yvonne
That’s very impressive!! Did you go with friends, family or both?
I agree it would be nice to be able to buy some merchandise but there is hardly anything. I couldn’t even buy the documentary from amazon.com and believe that situation is true for all UK fans.

          • In the UK in yester-year with friends from school,2001 onwards with friends and my daughter who is also a fan no choice LOL, 2016 in New York with my husband that was my Birthday present from him.My husband had booked New York as a surprise for March 2017 before David had announced his date for BB Kings …..so we arrived 4 days toooo late,so my friend and myself went to Las Vegas to see David in the February……So glad I did!!!

          • That’s just amazing , can you write sth about when you met David Cassidy?

          • Yvonne
I went to 4 dates on the 1985 tour. St Austell where I had front row, 2 in Manchester and Oxford. Also Oxford for Blood Brothers.
I didn’t even think of going to a concert when he toured in the 1970’s and my sons were quite young in the 2000’s so it was too awkward.
I would have loved to have seen him on his american tour with Danny B as well as the 70’s

  45. Hi Jane,Will there be any memorabilia coming to the Website at any time for fans to purchase, also “The Last Session ” is for sale on the internet .Is this fake? or is The Cassidy estate getting their percentage from this.Don,t want to purchase if it’s somebody making money illegally of Davids back, thank you Yvonne xx

  46. I wish a television channel would consider repeating The Partridge Family in the UK. I know at first David had mixed views of it, because it sent him along a different set of train tracks to the ones he originally intended. But I think, in the end, he’d long since come to terms with it, and even went so far as to thank Keith. Originally, he apparently didn’t even like the costumes – but I think they stand the test of time very well, those crushed velvet waistcoats have a romantic, almost medieval look! I would like to write to a UK TV channel to ask if there is any chance they might consider repeating the Partridge Family – but does anyone know which channel I should write to?

  47. Also – it occurs to me there are many programmed recorded in the 1970s which can’t be shown again due to their outmoded stereotypes, no longer considered suitable for showing. But the Partridge Family was incredibly ahead of its time. Shirley playing the part of a single working mother forging ahead with her life, is just one example. It was a very unusual set-up for a television script in those days, and even nowadays!

  48. hope everyone has a lovely time at saratoga, a place, david loved, sad you are not here today with us david, very sorry to hear you felt so lonely at the end of your life, i play your songs almost daily, and think of you when we were young , when times were full of honey, with me always in my heart.

  49. According to David’s face book – David did seem to have a lot going on before the end of his life. He was still doing a lot and had many friends. Friends of David’s were writing on his face book thanking him for the fun they’d all had together at sporting events.

  50. I cannot wait to there on August 18th at Saratoga! He was such a lovely man in person, I met him for the first time at the teack, toi

    • Oh Kim,what a beautiful memory for you to enjoy ,August the 18th please if possible post photographs ,have a great time,if finances allowed I would be there in a heartbeat……but I live in Scotland .

  51. I read about something that sadly didn’t happen, but would’ve been wonderful if it had – David Bowie was at one point going to produce an album with David singing songs by Lou Read. So wish it had panned out! Imagine David’s voice singing ‘Perfect Day.’ Meanwhile, the plaque at the theatre is something to celebrate David’s talent as an actor and singer, will forever regret not seeing David starring in ‘Blood Brothers.’ Had the opportunity and missed out!

    • I traveled from Scotland to see David perform in Blood Brothers,my youngest was only just over 3,and had booked for December, suddenly I was taken into hospital due to a stone in the kidney,I remember in the ambulance saying to my husband…..Oh no I,m seeing DAVID CASSIDY tomorrow ,he said listen honey that will be sorted, and Yes he did……..We lost travel, hotel, theatre tickets, but he re-arranged everything,my friend were able to go in January.I got to meet him,his acting was outstanding, what a great evening.Claire are you going to the unveiling of the plaque.I am trying my best to be there, returning from LA late Tuesday evening 18th September…….I wish David would have taken DAVID BOWIE up on his offer, but our DAVID decided against it,so wish he would have……he might and I say a BIG might music career could have very well gone in a direction that DAVID might have liked…..Who Knows.

  52. If I had taken up my chance to see ‘Blood Brothers’ when it was on, then I would’ve loved to see the opening of David’s plaque, as David would’ve wanted to be remembered for something so special, involving his theatrical talent, I feel sure. Of course, he would’ve liked to be remembered for his love and passion for horses, but I feel this plaque is of special importance and permanence. Everyone who goes to the theatre will see it and remember David was more than a teeny-bob idol. It’s also good that David has a memorial in the UK.

  53. It was a year ago, on August 9th, that David was alive to leave a message on his face book page – I think it concerned his friend and fellow performer, Glen Campbell who had died. David said Glen was a talented singer, guitarist, actor and all-round great guy! He was also thinking of Glen’s family and friends.

  54. I will be thinking of David especially on both the 14th and 18th August for the Memorial Tribute Concert and the Memorial Race and hope the fans that are attending these events have a wonderful time. So happy these events are happening in his honour and would love to be there myself.

    Sandra
    Sydney, Australia

  55. I hope someone attending will be able to post an account and some photos of this event. We will all be there in spirit…have a wonderful time!!

  56. David appeared on UK TV on Friday on TOTPs. I had thought we would be seeing old footage – however, it proved to be much more recent which had been lost for some time in Australia. It is very rare we get any glimpses of David on TOTPs, a lot of 1970s footage having been melted down and not retrievable, so was a real treat to see DC singing ‘Could it Be Forever’ in his beautiful voice. The other stars featured were excellent, but not in David’s league, voice-wise!

  57. To all the precious fans who follow me
and Denice, let me up date you. As
everyone knows on August 6th I fell
and broke my foot. I have a lot of time
on my hands. Denice has been so
wonderful she texts me every day to
see how I am. She is a very special
friend. To Jane Weir my foot is getting
better. The hard part is keeping it
elevated 24 hours a day. My kitten
is doing great. He is laying down
on my pillow next to my my cast.
He is such a comfort to me. To my
friend Denice thank you for being
my friend. I want all our friends
on this website to know how special
you are. I have very fond memories
of us meeting in person in Saratoga
Springs in May of this year. I want
all the fans to know we are going
back to Saratoga on May 20,2019.
May 20th has been declared David
    Cassidy Day in Saratoga Springs.
This website is so special. I want
all fans to think about going to
Saratoga Springs , N.Y. In May.
It is an awesome experience. I want
to thank all the fans who have giving
me well wishes with my broken foot.

    He

  58. Dear Felicia,

    Debbie

  59. I hope also to see some photos of the event. Would love to be there. Will be thinking of you all. David deserves this honour. Love to all his devoted fans.
    Sheila UK

  60. Felicia, you are so caring and a good friend to me also, I sometimes still wonder how this was possible, being a David Cassidy fan just explains why friendships are happening with all the fans, David Cassidy was a wonderful person himself, and we are just celebrating together what David has meant, so to all fans going to the concert have a great time, David would be so honored and proud of his band. Please fans going don’t forget to post , share, your special story,we all will be waiting anxiously.

  61. Thank you to Camellia, Sharron, Tracey, Gillian, Anita, Maggie,Jayne, Josie, and Susan Samantha for all their hard work and dedication in getting David finally honoured for his talents, in the UK, with a permanent plaque at The Phoenix Theatre in London.

  62. Dear Denice,
Thank you for the heart warming post! I am
lost for words. I couldn’t ask for a better friend!
I am so looking forward to meeting you again
in Saratoga Springs in May of 2019. I may have
broken my foot, but the broken foot has not
broken my spirit! To Denice and all the fans who
have given me well wishes , thank you so much.
Every day that I get up it is one day closer to
getting my cast off! God is good!

  63. Thinking of David’s son, Beau, his special friends, particularly overseas, and David’s beloved band. They had to be up to speed because David’s drummer, Teri, said he regularly changed the set to keep everything exciting, no doubt keeping the band on their toes!

  64. … hope the celebrations of David’s life go well. Forgot that the tribute concert by David’s band was yesterday!

  65. Hope all who are going to this event have a memorable day. I’m sure all the UK fans wish we could be there to celebrate the life and work of this amazing man, whose work is still touching lives.
We are all becoming friends, through our love of him.
Rest in peace David. The world is an emptier place with you gone, but your life changed ours for the better.
Thank you to Our Eternal Father, and to Jack & Evelyn.

  66. Thinking of David and his son Beau ,and all his friends .Hope everything goes well ,and it will be a day to remember . I have made new friends through David on this website ,we are meeting next Sat. He is still spreading his love ,such a talented man ,he will be very much missed ,but never forgotten . God Bless David

  67. I want to wish all fans a very special time and please send pics, and David Cassidy loved all the horses, so a big congrats to the winner, but I think they were all winners in David’s eyes, Maura, have a spectacular time, for all you have done to make this event a honor for David. I’m sure this will be special for you, nice you will be with David’s fans, coming together and having events to honor David and keep his legacy a happening is so important, not everyday a star as special as David Cassidy is born.

  68. Thinking of David, his family, friends and fans this weekend . This amazing man touched so many of our lives. The love we all felt for him is still burning brightly in our hearts. Since his sad passing we have reached out to each other across countries, continents and oceans. We grow as a family through our love for David. Special love for Felicia and Sian. Xxx

  69. Just to see those words together it’s so hard…. David’s ashes.
Forever grateful for the things you gave us – music , love , joy , beauty, friendship..
Thank you that your life’s journey has helped me to understand so many things and you have made my life so much better.

    “Let It Shine
    Shine on you
    You got the power
    To make it come true

    Let it shine
    Shine on me
I need you to help me
    To make me believe”

    May you rest in peace.

  70. Love and thoughts to Katie; to Beau; to David’s brothers; to his friends; to his fans… and to Maura. R.I.P. David Cassidy.

  71. Thinking of David’s friends in the last months of his life, those who helped make his life more special and who he loved.

  72. David Cassidy talent is legendary, that is how we will remember him for all he gave, he was not just a entertainer, he worked very hard and took his work seriously, and wow what a outcome. David Cassidy also had a love and so much more with horse racing, and once again we got to see more talent from David, and Saratoga Springs N.Y. was a place he loved and being at that track, so Claire I think it is so special for fans to communicate here together, and David’s resting in peace , and his life is being celebrated this week, up in Saratoga, I hope we will continue to get more for David in time to come, his talent will always remain and be remembered. I think we needed to celebrate his life first, and Saratoga was a great start.

  73. Your welcome Claire, and also thank you you said about the footage on David’s facebook page, I checked it out and I found very interesting, especially some of the earlier articles, and I could not see the Harry Connive show at the time, I enjoyed watching. Because David Cassidy was so special I think everything that is available is important. But I understand your point, we must never stop the importance that David Cassidy talent is what put David Cassidy in our lives. I don’t want to spell Harry Connick, wrong, sorry, I did very much enjoy watching part of that show, seemed like they both had a good time and the audience also. So Claire I enjoy your posts, and glad we shared a view, I hope we get to see pics from the Memorial race.

  74. Many thanks to David’s band for doing the Memorial Tribute Concert raising funds for the foundation for retired racehorses which was so close to his heart. I enjoyed the footage of this. Also would love to see any footage of the David Cassidy memorial race day and have been thinking about David’s family and friends at this poignant time. I’m sure David would have been so proud of his band and family and friends honouring him this way. Remembering you always David and thinking of you with much love.

” Wish you were here… “. We will see you there. Til we meet again, God bless and keep you. Always.
    Debbie

  76. Just saw the pictures from yesterday’s race, everyone looks very nice, and you all are smiling , what a nice honor, David Cassidy loved the Saratoga racetrack and horses, to everyone who was there, you have memories of special celebration with special people , at David’s favorite place. My friend Felicia and I thought Saratoga Springs N.Y. was beautiful place, and hope to get back there, Mauri did a nice event for David, and let’s keep celebrating David’s life and legacy. Hi Felicia, hope your foot is healing and you are feeling better. Felicia I’m still amazed that our friendship started on David’s website, and I’m glad that we went to the bench celebration and included David in a mass. And we both miss David, and the healing is helping beening with everyone , David’s fans have helped one another.

  77. Hi Denice!
I love your post! As everyone knows Saratoga
Springs was David’s most favorite place on earth!
Who would of ever thought that 2 years ago a
special al friendship would be made on the David
Cassidy website! You are a best friend, you are
that special to me! I love this website! The fans
are so supportive! To everyone who made it to
Saratoga Springs on August 18th great job!
Loved the photos. Now 9 months from now we
have David Cassidy Day on May 20, 2019 in
Saratoga Springs to attend. Look forward to
    see

  78. The best way to view all the videos is on this website not using Facebook. Jane, who runs this website, uses Facebook only to inform fans that the item has been posted in Updates on the website, you should look at the white box at the top orf the page, the link to the Updates page is there. Also David needs to remember for all his talents and any videos of tv appearances regardless of their content should added and enjoyed . If you still have a problem with this i suggest you email Jane directly.

    • Yes, every info is very important , this site is like a great library, a true David Cassidy legacy. Also teen mags , they are like documents from the past , social history , yes we were manipulated but also after so many years they look so innocent compare with contemporary mags., and we can enjoy great pics of young David.

  79. i loved david as soon as i clapped eyes on him in the partridge family, i fell in love, david brightened up my life, when he was announced to be on a show, whatever it was, i looked forward to seeing him eagerly, being able to see him in concert in 1973, made my dream come true, i must have watched everything david has been in, i have his music and he is with me always in my heart, always remembered, never forgotten.

  80. Nine months ago today, the world lost David Cassidy. Hard to believe, isn’t it? Talking about David in the past tense still feels weird. I hope David’s family, friends, and fans are healing from the pain of losing him. I can honestly say that I know how Beau and Katie Cassidy feel. The death of a parent is something I can relate to, since I lost my own Dad last April.

I wish I could’ve been there for David’s memorial. My thoughts are with him and those who love him. My thoughts are with my Dad too. He and David are both loved and missed so much. It’s been a difficult time, but I know things will get better. Love to all!

  81. Hi to all my beautiful friends.
As I talked you I was moving and it has took a bit long I expected but I am finally here with you all again.
I have read all about David´s Memorial horse race on Facebook and I am so happy for him, he really deserves this lovely tribute as horses were his other passsion. I love that it will be a David Cassidy day on Saratoga every year. It´s amazing what a group of fans and Maura are doing for him!! Such lovely and special tribute indeed ♥
Felicia, I follow you on Facebook and I must say that your little Danny Boy is so cute and sweet and I know he is a great comfort for you, especially now that you broke your foot.
August 21th was a hard day for me too as it had to be for many of you. I can´t believe David is gone but in a very awesomel way I feel him so close to me, I feel his energy and especially I feel his love inside me, so in some way it´s like he is still here with us.
I love you, my sweetie and miss you so much too. Forever in my heart ♥

  82. Saw this on Facebook and just wanted to share it with you all. So true and beautiful bit sad at time:

  83. I would just like to say David has given me the inspiration to go back to my guitar playing .I used to play classical guitar many years ago ,before I got married ,only played for 2 years ,so I got another one ,Electric this time .I found a guitar teacher ,and looking forward to my lessons .going back like a beginner, as I’m rusty when I see David playing ,and he used to practice everyday ,even when he was ill .I feel it’s what I want to do ,nice to feel a connection with him

  84. Hi Sian, Araceli, Felicia and Denice,

Hi Jane, thanks for the nice post, I was happy for the girls that got together at Syon Park, they have celebrated David Cassidy, and made lasting friendships, and Hi Arcelia, wish you a happy time in your new home. And hi Felicia, you don’t have long to go, and your cast is off. I think that cute, super cute Danny Boy, your growing kitten had alot to do with you getting better faster. This website is so special, I played David’s music, and his voice brings in so much, that I can’t even think of anything else in that moment, except enjoy David’s music, and all David Cassidy fans are extremely a joy to post with. We will always be here together to make David Cassidy legacy a achievement that us fans want for he was a entertainer that deserves the very best from us.
