Sad News – Gerry Goffin
The wonderful lyricist Gerry Goffin has died. Gerry wrote more than 50 top 40 hits for many different artists.
He was one of the greatest songwriters in the 20th century. Tortured apparently but a true legend. What he and Carole King did together is beyond great. They rank in the top 5 of ALL song writing teams ever.
I’m very sad, we have lost one of the greats. He wrote ‘I’ll Meet You Halfway’ for me and I’ll never forget that moment when he brought me the demo. It’s still one of my favorite songs I’ve ever recorded.
