David visited Beaulieu House (The national Motor Museum, UK) in 1973. Sharron L worked with Lord Montagu of Beaulieu House to have David remembered there for his visit in 1973. Lord Montagu kindly offered to place an information board near the location on the riverbank where David went fishing with his mum. David later had tea with his mum, his sister also remembers the visit, but Lord Montagu was at boarding school at the time.

To dear DC, beautiful talented man it’s nearly 5 years now since you left us (unbelievable!). We are all still full of sorrow, & the whole world has been full of sorrow for the past years too! All of you at home & abroad I think of you all especially since news is still not good when I hear what’s going on in Australia, USA, Europe etc. David’s fans are everywhere on this earth, but unfortunately it just seems to be gloom & doom. Extra, extra warmest wishes to Weronika heard the news as it happened 4 nights ago. What can one say about the situation, except that I really hope you & yours are all OK. We’re all thinking of you, life at the moment is hard enough without having to put up with this extra stress, fear & worry!
