    • I hear ya, Sian!

Yikes! Hard to believe — makes us sound old, but the music and DVDs make us feel like teenagers again.

Oh those Friday nights and Tiger Beat and 16 Magazines. Giggle.

  1. Great to see so much taking place to remember the 50th Anniversary of the Partridge family .cannot believe it was that long ago. I can remember watching it as a 12 year old ,and feeling like I was part of that family .I am still watching the partridge family now aged 60 ,as I have the complete box set .and it still brings me joy and laughter, something we all need .hope everyone is well .love claudette .

  2. It’s going to be a great day. I remember watching our favorite TV family for the very first time like it was yesterday. What an amazing journey that one had been!!

  3. This will be a great day, looking forward to jining in with all the celebrations, cannot believe it is 50 years since The Partridge Family first appeared on US tv, here in the UK we didn’t get it until the following year.

  4. Happy 50th Partridge Family and to all the fans too! I almost wish it were the 70s again or should I say I wish we had that feeling and innocence again, not that the world was a bed of roses, but it was much better than it is now. Have fun everyone.

  5. I have mixed feelings regarding that day..Many different reasons..the most important I think is that David Cassidy is not with us to celebrate..But of course I will be listening to TPF’s songs and Im going to took part ( watch) The Partridge Family Tribute Concert (great idea) and the celebration on ‘When We’re Singin’ ..But Im disappointed with that Virtual Fan Club events..
Private..I don’t understand why information about that is on ‘our’ website..if they want to stay private..Ive tried to become a member twice..Made a Fb account bc of this club..And..they didn’t want me..That’s ok..but..I have a feeling David wouldn’t have liked it..He cherished all his fans..

    • Hi Weronika! I am Barb Collentine one of the admin on The David Cassidy Virtual Fan Club page. I am really sorry your request to join was bounced back and I assure you it was a misunderstanding. Like every FB page, we have the rules and expectations that have to be read and agreed to and we have several other questions that have to be answered. The admin on the page has spoken about what happened to your request and someone will be getting in touch with you. As Doreen Walker below commented, we are a very different type of Fan Club in that our membership is able to RSVP to events that we hold virtually and we have limited room because they are like a Zoom Meet– in this case it’s Google Meet. So the virtual events can only hold a limited number of participants, but certainly anyone is welcome to join our fan club and we would not cap our membership. We hope to be not just the first of our kind of Facebook group, but maybe even the biggest. I hope that clears things up for you. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to private Facebook Messenger me. We will be in touch! Happy September 25th!!!

      • Barb, thank you very much ..Since I’ve written this post Ive learned a lot about Facebook😂😂and that’s great..and I’m glad I’ve posted that comment..sure there are some fans who has learned too..It was just so frustrating..I couldn’t have joined DC Fan Club in the 70s..bc of communism etc ..and nearly 50 years later again..😂😂and your Club its such a brilliant idea..I can only imagine it hasnt been easy to start and sure a lot of work to run it..
        Yes, very Happy September 25th..❤❤

  6. What a shame they didn’t want you to join, Weronika. You are one of the main contributors on these blogs and obviously a huge fan!! Maybe it’s an oversight?

    • I have no problems with them didn’t want me or any other fan if they want that way..Personally I think every fan counts, not so many left after all..I write bc I don’t work and have time..but I have a problem that info about those private events are here..

      • I don’t understand either as lots of people have been added from all over the world to that group. What did they say in their reply, because i they don’t appear to be fans that would turn away anyone. if you want i can ask them to sort it, has you email failed or what has happen.

      • Actually the main reason it is privite is that they are using Google Meets and it being interactive, it has to be private, Google Meets rules according to others that have asked.

  7. Hi. This sort of goes back to what I have been mentioning about the people who do (or more like don’t) market David well. I’ve been to a few stores that carry a lot of CDs and merchandise for other less famous, less talented stars but absolutely nothing of David, why? It’s wrong. His promoters should be doing a lot more. Where are all his CDs, concerts, DVDs? David has a bigger fan base than what people think. I really wish someone would get going on this….David needs someone like Priscilla Presley, I’ve said this before….. there should be a David Cassidy legend in concert, when we can do those things again. How about a really good documentary like the Beatles anthology on David’s life? How about PBS airing his concerts when they beg for more money? How about SOMETHING MORE!? Sorry, but it’s disappointing that the people who can do something about keeping David’s memory alive are not doing much to promote how much he contributed to our culture. David Cassidy is the BEST. 💚💙💚💙 I love you David

  8. When I was in London in 2018 I was so disappointed that I couldn’t find anything, any CDs.. or books on him in a place where he should be remembered..but now I think that the most important DC’s legacy it’s his bond with his fans..and fans have done a lot..whatever they could..each one of us has its share..in those plaques, benches, LV star..or “Cherish” book, tribute videos on YT..we write comments, talk about him ..
David Cassidy said that it was never about fame, it was about work and love..and I think that he wanted that way.. we have got that amazing last gift from him “Last Session”..He never wanted to be a celebrity, be loved by everybody..but he cared about us..and we will always remember..

  9. Hi. Yes. That’s true! He was and still is the best. You are right at least here we can remember him, but it would be nice to see more of him in stores too 😄. 💚💙💚💙

    • Of course, it would be great..❤❤his CDs..videos..biographies …I wish..a movie one day.. his life is a ready script..can you imagine..😂😂but I don’t think it would ever happen..and besides..I can’t see anyone who can play David..😂❤no way…
      ..

  10. I absolutely agree, Weronika. David just wanted to be kind and a good person. The best we can do for him is love one another and remember the great human being and talented man he always was.

And yes, it’s going to be hard celebrating the 50th Anniversary of The Partridge Family without David 😔😢😢… 34 months he left us today 😔😢😢😢

    • Yes Araceli, we should be one great family, fans from all over the world❤❤❤❤
34 months..and it still hurts.. especially this week.
      Big hug.

  11. It certainly would be hard to get someone to play David, no one could hold a candle to him! That’s why I say another documentary on his life with real footage and interviews with David. It’s great we have this site, but there, are other fans that don’t go online and older who may not go on line or know who David is or seen much of him that would enjoy his music, that’s all I meant. This great but it’s limiting. Sorry, it’s just how I feel.

    • I know what you mean about no CDs or DVDs in stores, the reaseons apart form the box set of the Bell years, the rest of David’s recordings have not been re-released and i don’t know why either. I hope that Sony who own what was Screen Gems/Columbia pictures will release at 50th Anniversary DVD box set of The Partridge Family, every other tv series that hits that milestone gets there’s released why don’t they release The Partridge Family and a CD box set. You can get hold of some of the albums on CD from online, but as you say not everyone goes online, they need to be in the stores.
As you are online GG can i suggest that you look up United DJs Radio, uniteddj.com, they also have an app, they often play David’s music and there is Seabird Radio, which is mentioned on this website that has a show on Sundays with David’s music, plus a couple of other artists, so we are trying to get David’s music out there. When i have had tracks played on United DJs, i usually request the lesser known tracks, i have had good feedback from others listening as United Djs has it’s own Facebook page for their listeners, United Djs, The Station of The Stars. Also i along with David Cassidy Group of Great Britain, we have written to several TV channels to ask about getting The Partridge Family shown here in the UK and also suggested showing David’s concerts, any of his appearances in tv shows and a positive documentary/programme on all David’s career achievements and we had some positive replies from a couple saying they were looking into it and passed the info to the relevent department. As you can see there are things being done by fans and it won’t happen unless fans let tv etc know we are here and would like to see and hear David’s music, then possibly something will happen.

  12. Hi Doreen!
That’s great that the UK is so involved. I haven’t noticed too much in USA, but haven’t really researched it. I personally have notified local TV, radio stations and stores about getting David’s music and concerts, but never get a response, I am relentless so I do keep trying! We get the Partridge Family early Saturday mornings for 2 hours but that’s about it. It would be great if the station aired the show at night along with Man Undercover, they don’t have to sit them every night, once a week like things used to be would good. I notified them about that too, Thanks for the support and update! I will keep trying, David deserve it!

  13. There’s so much to say, and so many thank you’s ,and so much to celebrate on the 50th anniversary of the partridge family. Jane a big Thank You for this website, the work you have done here is so appreciated. You have gave so much to us fans, and contribute so much to David Cassidy legacy. Thank you Johnny Ray Miller, you have done so much also and are a leader in preserving David’s legacy. I look forward to more to come. Love your book. The research that you did for your book, opened my mind on so much on the partridge family music. Made me appreciate the music even more. Tommorow let the celebration begin. Growing up in the early 1970’s life could be good, life could be bad, but when it came time to watch the partridge family each week, Life was Happy. We are all here as fans, to this day for a show that made a Impact in our lives, we cherish those memories, anyone and everyone who had a job to do on the partridge family, done it right on that’s why 50 years later we are here. Shirley Jones thank you, for dedication all the years to us fans, you are loved for so much, you have done so much in your career, I enjoyed all roles and acting you have done, and your beautiful singing voice. Thank you for being on the partridge family. Susan Dey thank you for being on the partridge family, you have meant alot, we met you on the show, and loved you than and followed your career, and Danny Bonaduce, for as young as you were on the show, your acting was unbelievable to me, you were a natural. To Brain , fun watch you play the drums. David Cassidy I miss you so much, Keith Partridge the memories live within us. David Cassidy legacy will be forever. Tommorow as we all celebrate anniversary of the partridge family 50 years later, the meaning of this show has taken us on a journey, that has grown into friendships, Hi Felicia, and the happy memories from the partridge family will remain, and each fan has there own story to tell on what the partridge family meant to them. We all can agree. Great show , C’mon get happy.

  14. Thinking of David especially today on the 50th anniversary of the Partridge Family, and wishing he were here to celebrate it. We didn’t get it here until February, 1971. Congratulations to Shirley, Danny, Susan and Brian for being in this wonderful show that we all love. I can’t believe it’s 50 years ago. The events above to celebrate this sound great, maybe some of us might be able to see the streaming event in the future if not live. None of us could have known how big a star David would become as a result of the Partridge Family. I remember watching it every week in the 70s, mainly because David was in it. I couldn’t take my eyes off him, he was so handsome and talented. I used to wonder back then what he was really like and many years later was not disappointed to find out what a wonderful man he was. We will never again see anyone like him, he was unique. And to you David, congratulations for being in this wonderful show that introduced you and all your talents to all of us. I remember the Partridge Family with great fondness and will love and remember you always. Sandra, Sydney, Australia.

  15. In the 70s I become a fan of David Cassidy a singer, I knew how he looked like, some of his songs..I watched Partridge Family for the first time just a few years ago..and I understand your feelings..watching him every Friday night, waiting for a new episode.. It’s still such a joy to watch..wonderful TV family series.. but of course it wouldnt have been so good and memorable without him..
So let’s celebrate that 50th anniv., listen to those timeless songs, we know all of them by heart, and remember those who are still with us, this wonderful woman, a true Hollywood legend , Shirley Jones, and wonderful actress, so important for David…- Susan Dey..and Danny..and Brian..and those who are not there any more..Suzanne..Dave Madden..also Bernard Slade, Bob Claver, Wes Farrell, Tony Romeo..sadly it’s a long list… and most of all , David Cassidy. I think he would have liked us not to be sad today..
Big hugs for all the fans around the world and great thanks for Jane for running his website

  16. The Partridge family 50th Anniversary ,a day of celebration .I will be listening to Timm McCoys partridge family songs .and also remembering the ones who sadly are no longer with us. Suzanne Crough, Dave Madden, and of course David Cassidy . who brought to us a show we all loved so much .so sad they cannot be here to join in the celebrations .

  17. Feeling sad. This should be a great day but it’s a bittersweet one. I am not that excited celebrating the 50th Anniversary because I miss David. If only he would be here 😔

  18. Hi Arcelia, you speak from the heart. David would not want you to be sad. It’s difficult ,David looking through the clouds, so is Bernard, Susan, Dave M, Wes, and Bert C, and Ruth his manager early 70’s, We lost many who have guest starred on PF. David’s, got them looking down to. David knows we miss him, but he would want today to be a happy day and remember the good times. Everyone has done so much to make today special. Arcelia sending you some hugs. Don’t ever let go of the hug David gave you. I’m going to pick a partridge family song, sit back, and enjoy today what I loved listening to 50 years ago, and just be happy I got be part of a special era. Love, Love, The Partridge Family.

  20. Hi. David is here in spirit, smiling, it is bittersweet but at least we were part of his legacy by loving him. God was showing off when he made David, what A masterpiece He created. I love you David 💚💙💚💙

  21. 50 years! Wish David were still here. Every Friday night right in front of the TV and wouldn’t move until the next show came on. The family, the music, and of course, David, was and still is my favorite show. God bless and keep them all, and thank you. We will always love you David.

  22. Wow Sian..I don’t know what to say.. I mean we are all fans..I just have time to write and sure bc of David I’ve learnt a lot about myself..in that way he has changed my life for better ..I remember what you have written once.. that fan is from fanatic..and I enjoy different kinds of music.. DC’s music is not my only soundtrack.. always good to hear from you.❤

  23. I watched the 50th anniversary of the partridge family last night. I want to say to all the fans if you missed it, you can still watch it on u-tube.Johnny Ray Miller was our host, and did a outstanding job. And I enjoyed so much, fun, and I learned more about the partridge family. So nice to see all the guests, and to see Shirley Jones our favorite t.v. mom. She looked great, sounded great, and get to a special clip, Shirley singing the whale song, on the pf. Shirley Jones voice is classic, and beautiful. And Danny, was fun and shared real interesting stories. In case you’re going watch for the first time, I want say all the guests made the 50th anniversary of the partridge family a real special day. David Cassidy would sure be happy we celebrated together. Thank you again Johnny Ray Miller, you are one of my favorite speakers. You have done so much and continue to grow the legacy of David Cassidy, and the partridge family, I really can’t wait to see what you will plan next.

  24. Hi. It was nice to hear from people who knew, David and said he was happier than what the media kept/keeps saying, I knew he just had to be happier than what everything says, I know he had dark days but that was nice to hear, I wish I married him!!! 😄

  25. I managed to watch all of the online celebrations for the 50th Anniversary of The Partridge Family and want to thank all those involved in doing these celbrations, you have all done a tantastic job, they were all wonderful to watch. I am sure David was looking down watching us and smiling as he did not want use to be sad on the day, along with remembering David we also need to remember all the others that are no longer with us that were in or involved with The Partridge Family. It was lovely to see Shirley, Danny and Brian, pl;us all the other guests on Johhny Ray Miller’s live streaming event yesterday, thank you for such a wonderful and interesting event for the 50th Anniversary. I miss David everyday and i am sad that he is not here to have seen all the celebration, but as i said I’m he was looking down sending his love to us all..

  26. I would just like to say how much I enjoyed watching the 50th Anniversary of the partridge family ,hosted by Johnny Ray Miller .watching it live was great unfortunately I missed the beginning ,so missed shirley .but managed to watch it again on utube .it was lovely to hear her singing the whale song from PF episode ,she has such a fantastic voice. and to see Danny again ,he has such a great sense of humour. and also Brian Forster, who unfortunately had internet problems. Jeremy Gelbwaks and Ricky Segall ,Anne Moses. I also very pleased to see Henry Diltz .It is very sad David is no longer here with us to have joined in the celebrations ,but I feel he would have been very happy that the cast and all involved and all of his fans remembered and celebrated that very special Day .
