Concert Review

MY GREAT EXPERIENCE (MANCHESTER CONCERT)

Manchester Evening News Arena. Manchester UK

April 20, 2007

Hi my friends.

I donīt how I am going to begin, so I guess I must begin saying I we left our house six thirty in the morning on Wednesday April 18th.

This dream was in my mind over 35 years and now I had the chance to make it come true. We (my parents and I) went to Gandía by bus, then by train to Valencia. All the time David was with me in my mind.

We spent some hours in the train station till the time to take our train to Barcelona. On the journey I was reading my "Just David" news letter as the trip was for three hours. In the afternoon we were in Barcelona seeing the Port, the Colomīs Statue, The Sagrada Familia Cathedral and the Nou Camp (the Barcelonaīs ground as my father is "fan" of that team)

On Thursday 19th we went to the airport. There was Monica waiting for us. She sent me a message: she was in Terminal A. The taxi driver picked us up from the hotel and left us in Terminal B, as our flight was to Manchester in the Monarch Company.

I went quickly to find Monica and I recognized her immediately. She was the first Davidīs fan I spoke to, I hugged her tightly, it was so exciting. at last, my dream was beginning at this same moment. Then we went with my parents (they hadnīt got ticket for Davidīs concert, they only wanted to know the U.K.)

We spent a lot of hours talking about our favourite subject all the time: DAVID!!!.

It was my first flight. Really, it was my first time for a lot of things. When the plane went up my head and my stomach were upset during a few moments, but I must say we had a nice flight. Monica and I were really excited sharing some Davidīs pics.

We arrived in Manchester and we went to the hotel only for a few minutes. Our main objective was to know where the MEN Arena was. I had a map of the city so I can find the place. The hotel was very nice, it was building built in the old Cathedral.

In the afternoon we met Jackie (The President of the Dutch fan club -I am a member-. She is also a member of our davidforever chat group). Jackie is very nice. I had a great time with her.

We went to the hotel to meet the other DC fans. I knew Jane (who was there with Silvia a German fan and Karin a Swiss fan). The meeting with Jane was fantastic and very special because she was my first contact with a Davidīs fan. We changed our characteristic feeling about David, and I said to her I was living that wonderful night thanks to her, it was so much beautiful.

On Friday 20TH was my "D" day. We spent the morning buying my Davidīs book at the Waterstoneīs (the same place where was David book signing), taking a big, big cup of coffee, walking Manchesterīs street and talking about our sweet obsession, another time: DAVID!!!

After the lunch we went to the back door of the MEN Arena. We were there for about three hours. Jane, Terena and other fans came after too. We had to leave before he came as we agree meet with Jackie and the other Dutch fans at our hotel.

We lost our big chance to see David for our first time. We came back again but Jane and Terena werenīt there so we knew David was inside already.

The moment for the concert had come and I was really excited. I had put my feet into the MEN Arena. In a TV screen was Davidīs face and I had butterflies in my stomach.

I met Gail, Lesley, Mandy, Jane, Terena. I know I have forgotten someone, I am so sorry about that.

The Showaddywaddy opened the concert and when they finished, the team changed the instruments. Davidīs band began to play music and finally David went out on to the stage on the right. I was waiting to see a small David, but I saw a marvellous David wearing his characteristic white shirt and black trouser. He wore roll shirt up and his skin was tanned. David was fantastically gorgeous, more than I ever have thought; no picture can do him justice. He was my GOD at that stage. I canīt believe I was there, only six o seven metres away from him and when he come to us I saw the most beautiful thing I ever had seen in all my life. I could not take away my eyes of him. He came out running and his sweet voice began singing "I Can Feel Your Heartbeat", I wished the time would stop at that moment.

Then (I think) he sang "Common Thief" with his acoustic guitar. He sang also my favourite song "How Can I Be Sure". To hear that song live was one of my big dreams come true that night. I loved it.

David has a great humour. He thanks The Osmondīs fans and his own fans too, of course. But between those 18.000 people (I think more or less) had a Spanish fan -ME- who was there seeing that live concert for the first time in her life and who is the happiest woman around the world at the moment.

I was really excited. David moved his body in a way I never had seen before. His hips seemed alive and that face, and that smile. Oh my God!! Thanks for the wonderful moments I lived in Manchester.

When I heard the first notes of "I Think I Love You" I knew my dream finished but this was something I will never forget. It will be in my heart for the rest of my life.

THANK YOU, DAVID!!!!!
