Concert Flyer

It all started on Mother's Day. Earlier in the day I had checked David's website to see if any concerts were added. Nothing. But later that night, I checked again, and sure enough this one was added! So with it being only a 5 hour drive from me, I decided I was going. What a Mother's day present to myself! So I got online and ordered the tickets. I figured I would get good seats with it just being added. I got second row center seats. I was just thrilled! I knew my husband would not go with me, so I got my younger sister Penny to go with me.

Friday we left home at 10:30 A.M. to head for the concert. I had great directions, took us right to our Hotel and past the Arcada theatre where David was to perform. We saw a big advertising poster of him and his name up on the marquee. I was getting really excited now. We went to our hotel, changed and got something to eat. At 6:45 we left to head over to the show and see what might be going on. Some fans had begun to arrive. Next door attached to the theatre, was a Starbucks so my sister and I had a drink while killing some time. We were both wearing Partridge family shirts. My sister had on a shirt of mine with all the PF episodes on the shirt in the shape of the Partridge bird. She got many comments about it all night. I was wearing a white shirt with the picture of the UP To Date Cover on my t-shirt. I made the shirt to wear. Only a couple others I saw, had DC or PF shirts of some kind on. We decided to go ahead and go inside.

Once we were inside, we could hear the band practicing, but security would not let us get our seats yet. While we were waiting a lady from the newspaper came in and started to talk to us. She asked us about our shirts, where we were from etc... then she asked to take pictures of us. We were thrilled! Must have been like 20 pictures she took. She said we might get in the local paper and asked if it was ok. We did not care. Later when we sat down, another lady from the newspaper talked to us again. Other fans asked us why we were getting this attention... we said we did not know, but must have been the shirts and the copy of DC's new book I was holding. It was very hot in this place. There was no airconditioning or fans or anything. Finally, the band was done practicing and we were let in.

Our seats were great! David would be 5 feet from me all night! It was so hot in this place. Then we come to find out that some other guys were going to perform some songs because David was late. It got to be very long waiting. The show was to have started at 8:00 but David did not hit the stage until 9:20!!!! He opened with singing HUSH. The crowd of 800 went wild. The next song he performed was Crossroads with Matt and Frank playing upfront with him. It was just awesome. Some people later complained about the long guitar playing, but I found it awesome to watch the 3 together.

Other songs that he played next were Heartbeat, Point Me in the Direction of Alb, Could it Be Forever, Common Thief, The Beatles Medley of No Reply and Hide Your Love, the band intro/ C'mon Get Happy, I Woke up In Love, I Think I Love You, and an encore of I'll Meet You Halfway. (I think I named them all), sorry if I missed any) After a couple songs, the stage was rushed and women stayed at the stage for the rest of the night. There were only 2 security guards, and no match for the crowd. I could not get out from my seat to get too the stage.

I filmed pretty much the entire concert. David saw me and recognized me. The ladies in front of me turned around and wondered what that was all about. It was too loud to explain I had seen him enough times that he probably knows me by sight now. David was really on tonight. He had more pelvic thrusts going on that I had never seen before. It looked like he was making love to his guitar! It was awesome!

David really sweated that night because of no air. I really felt for him. All the heat and the lights must have been awful for him. He wiped off with a towel a lot during the show.

It was nice to see the place full. I saw Christina and Jayne from the UK, but did not get a chance to talk to them. I met a lady named Susan, a myspace friend of mine after the show. It was so cool to put a name and a face together! She is too cool. I saw a few other regulars there. Some fans in their 40's and 50's were inappropriately dressed. Nothing new there. Later we found out he had a small Meet and Greet with a few people after the show. I tried to get a poster, but were all gone.

The next day my sister and I got the newspaper and found we were mentioned in it and my sister Penny got her picture in the paper with my cool shirt. So that was thrill enough for me. We had a great time and it was nice to spend some time with my sister and meeting other DC fans. Most of the songs were performed with his new remix sound. I am use to the old DC stuff, but it was just great seeing him. He wore the usual white shirt and black pants. The shirt was buttoned WAY down. He has his haircut in a SPIKE I guess I would call it. Looked nice. I had a great time and got some great pictures. It was awesome! Cannot wait to see him again.
