He Took My Valentine's Flowers!!!!!-Mohegan Concert Review

February 9 & 10th, 2008

Mohegan Sun, Uncasville, CT

Since this is the only V-day I've had with David, I decided to make it extra special by bringing him flowers, that happened on Sunday. Here's what happened on Saturday: David was fantastic. Like his hair this way, without the gelled spikiness, it just looked so soft like ya want to run your fingers thru it! He wore the white gauze crinkly shirt & the other than jeans, black pants & no belt. I had the spot right in front of his mic & got to gaze into his beautiful eyes for the 1 hour, 20 minute concert. The songs (as much as I remember, some of them Remix style:) Heartbeat, Crossroads, Point Me, Summer Days, Echo Valley, Beatles acoustic set, Halfway, Common Thief, Ain't No Sunshine, Rock Me Baby, How Can I be Sure (Sunday only) C'mon Get Happy, Cherish, I Woke Up, One Night with You (Elvis improv) ITILY & Cry (encore on Saturday) He jammed a lot with his new guitar player, Jimmy. David had a GREAT time doing this. Jimmy is GOOD, cute, sings the blues & that's where my hair went, LOL! I used to have long hair just like that! I got a really strong handshake on Summer Days as David raced toward me. David talked about how he just did the Oprah show (well it's only about time!) & how he really enjoyed it & how nice Oprah is. He took a cell phone that had the 70s pic of him in Hawaii & had them put it on the big screens above the stage. He held up some DC/PF 70s clothing: a beige child's pants & put them along side his leg like, does it fit??? That was hysterical! He said he had a premonition that someone would win $1 million in the casino (hint: it wasn't me!) Someone did win $250,000 on Sunday. He held up a lot of posters, records, books, my friend's PF bus. I held up my Someone record. He took it, held it up on stage & said "this is when I was blond." As he gave it back to me, looking down at the British flag t-shirt along w/my American flag scarf that I wore -he said "all the way from the UK no less!" & then took my hand. At the end of the show he had the guy next to me turn around so they could spotlight his t-shirt. David said "I've been looking at that all night & it's the coolest t-shirt I've ever seen" (pix of all the PF albums)

Sunday: The flowers: a professional arrangement of a dozen roses, red & white symbolizing pure love from me, (which because it's Valentine's cost a fortune, they double the prices!) I put British flag stickers on the top part of the wrapper & tied the stems with my American scarf. Well, David noticed my flowers on Summer Days (his first song without his guitar on) He stood over me & said WOW (Hey I wowed David!) I held the flowers higher so he could take them, I said for you, David, for you. As he took them up on the stage the flag unfurled as I blew him kisses. He said "thank you for acknowledging my Americanness" walked over & placed them on stage next to his red guitar. A few songs later he announced that he had just signed a TV show deal with ABC Family network & that he's moving back to California. I'm so HAPPY for him. Well a few songs later he's back my way again, bends down & puts his mic on me (my lips where his had just been-almost a kiss!) He said "what's your name" Doris , "oh, Doris?" Ya Doris from California & I'm so glad your coming back home to California, welcome back! & David says " ya, well I'm from New York." He also said that his new CD will be out on Feb. 26 (a reissue of Remix w/pink cover) On How can I be Sure one side was waving their arms & on the other side only me. David turned to my side and said "what?, you guys can't sway" & showed them how. Then the whole stage crowd was doing it!!! I had a great time at both shows, got to visit w/my East Coast buddies, saw it snow, walked in the ice, froze in 10F (nice & crisp!)
