Concert Review

Casino Rama. Rama, Ontario

March 4, 2011

I went to Casino Rama here in Orilla Ontario, for now my third David Cassidy concert last night. It was a beautiful venue and the stage and seats were great. However the most sitting I did all night was waiting for the show to start.

Once David came on stage people ran to stand at the stage and I joined them for an awesome view and an awesome show. David started with "C'mon get Happy" and was given a Partridge Family Bus, Christmas Ornament, which played "C'mon get Happy". He sang "Crossroads" "Point Me In The Direction Of Albuquerque", and then he sang "Summer Days". He started shaking hands during the song and I was able to shake his hand, so cool.

David then sang "I'll Meet You Halfway" "Hush" and played a little "Black Bird". David talked about how the Beatles had influenced him as a lad and how much he appreciated the time he was able to spend with John Lennon. He then sang, "In My Life", first joking about how New Year's Eve 74/75, laughing saying which is it, the New Year coming in or the old one, you say 74 or 75? . David said he remembered the old songs from the Beatles early days and he helped John remember them. David then laughed and said unfortunately now he has trouble remembering them. But he dedicated "In My Life" to John and was very emotional as he sang it.

David switched places with Teri Cote, while she sang, David played the drums which was awesome, then he sang "Cherish", introduce the band and then sang "I Woke Up In Love This Morning".

Brenda's Colouring Book

About a year ago my husband was going through old boxes and found my Partridge Family colouring book from when I was about 9 years old. I remember I had bought The PF colouring book and some neon crayons with my Birthday money. I decided at the time I would only colour it starting at the beginning as it was special. I never finished it, but I was right it was special because I took it with me last night. I was holding it closed so the cover showed and David kinda looked at it. Then I thought I should open it, the book is the story of the first episode, so I opened to the page where Shirley is holding her ears while Keith (David) is playing the guitar. David came back over again and looked and something like "Oh my, you brought your David Cassidy Colouring Book", I smiled and think I said, "un huh".

David then sang "I Think I Love You" and thanked everybody for coming to the show. It was a great show!

After the show, a few people came to me and said, you were the one with the colouring book, and I had fun chatting with them and showing them the colouring book. I really think the best part of a David Cassidy concert, after the entertainment, is the fact that he's got such great fans. I realized this after the first show I saw of his in Kitchener, two years ago, it feels like a reunion of old friends, that have never met before.
