My Review From Front Row Center by Heidi Noyes

My parents, brother and I left the Chicagoland area Friday morning around 8am to head to Riverside, Iowa for Valentine's Day Weekend to see David Cassidy, the best singer/entertainer perform on Saturday night at 8pm. Took us 5 hours to get there. Arrived at 1pm. Played a little bit in the casino although I never did this before. I did win some. The day of the concert, played a little more, but won and lost some. It was a fun learning experience for me.

Around 6:30pm we all headed to line up by the gates to see David perform. We were the 1st in line to enter before the security team opened them promptly at 7pm. Everything went smoothly and orderly entering the event center for the concert. There was a great big line behind us to see him. We had front row center seats. That was the best view to see him. No one to block our view. Looked like it was a sell-out crowd. I brought with me a rose to give to David Cassidy in honor of Valentine's Day and to have it brighten his day. His concert started at 8pm with his band members coming out first. Once David came out, everyone including us stood up to clap and cheer for him.

He started out with "C'mon Get Happy". Perfect song to open the show with. Then he went into "I Can Feel Your Heartbeat". David is an incredible guitar player. He did talk to the crowd about the hectic travels getting there. There was a snow storm coming earlier in the day with whiteout conditions as he had mentioned. He said it took them 7 hours to get there. Then he went on to "Point Me In The Direction of Albuquerque". He talked a moment about his next song, "Hush". This song really makes you want to get up and dance.

He talked to the crowd a moment about his life and career. Then he talked about Davy Jones and The Monkees. Mentioned he was supposed to go on a tour with him. He started to tear up a bit. I was starting to myself. I do miss Davy. He went on in his Tribute to Davy Jones with "I'm A Believer". Another song that makes you want to dance too. He walked from the right side of the stage to where we were sitting and I walked up to the stage and waved to him and then handed him the rose. This gave him a big smile on his face. I wish him a Happy Valentine's Day. He said "Thank You, Sweetheart", shook my hand and blew a kiss to me. That was a great moment. Not only did it make my day, it made his day as well. Then David went on to "Daydream Believer". Love this song. Davy Jones would have loved this Tribute. Made him proud. He got the crowd involved in singing a verse of the song. That was so fun singing along.

Next came "I'll Meet You Halfway". Then he talked about the origins of "Crossroads" and sang it too.

David then took a break from singing to give Teri Cote time to sing. He played on drums. He totally rocked those drums. Wow! Teri sang "Brass In Pocket". Teri has an amazing voice. Amazing drummer too! Then they went back to their original roles. Next was "Cherish". David Cassidy dedicated this song to all the fans not only in the crowd, but to everyone of his fans. This song really touches your heart. A couple people were trying to get an autograph from him and I was one of them. I quickly went back to my seat.

Then David went to the Band Intros and gave each of them a solo. He has an incredible band. He has the best band ever. Then they went into "Feeling Alright". David has the best band ever. Amazing job by them all. :)

David then went on to talk about how he almost quit The Partridge Family over this song, "Doesn't Somebody Want to Be Wanted". He said he couldn't leave this show. I love watching The Partridge Family. Then he rocked out to "I Woke Up In Love This Morning".

Next David motioned toward the security guy, who wanted to wrap things up. David goes "My concert, my rules." Great job David! That was too funny! We all clapped and cheered. He proceeded on by talking about John Lennon and The Beatles. He started to tear up a little and I did too when he sang "In My Life". A nice Tribute to John. Made him proud. Miss him too!

The final song of the night was "I Think I Love You". Each and every one of us in the crowd stood up, clapped and cheered. Some people, including me walked to the stage to get a final hand shake. David gave me a 2nd one time. Amazing song to end the night with.

I give this concert as well as the other previous concerts I've attended from Elgin, IL, Drury Lane Theater in Oak Brook, IL to Des Plaines, IL all 5 Star Ratings. David totally brought it. Words really can't stand describe how amazing this concert was. Great job by David and his incredibly talented band. Hope he comes back to IL again soon. :)
